SokBots may just be one of the the most fun, crazy, one-on-one multiplayer games out there. It has many charming characteristics to it that make it a joy to play. The game design of SokBots makes it effortless to spend hours upon hours playing the game. The graphics of SokBots are perfect. It’s bright and colourful. They don’t overpower your computer with polygons or particles, but allow your computer to relax. Its low poly art style also allows you to take it all in. The detail in every model is present and noticeable, making for a game where you notice all the little things instantly. The music of SokBots just works. The SokBots team did something interesting with this game’s soundtrack. They decided that its not worth it to have a lot of music that no one listens to, or ever even gets to hear. So, they have only one track playing while you fight someone else. This may sound like a negative, but in fact, it’s a positive. The one song is perfect for the occasion. Its hard hitting, easy on the ears, and gets you in the mood for a round of SokBots. The game design of SokBots is great. The balance of each weapon is phenomenal. Each car you make has distinct advantages and drawbacks. You can express yourself and your playstyle through your car when you fight someone else. The game does a wonderful job of balancing the damage and health of each car, and the games mechanics and physics are perfect for this kind of game. The mechanics and physics of the games always keep you on your toes and ready for what might come next. As well as, the price point. This game has a surprising amount of depth and fun to be had, all for such a low price. The price makes it so you can have fun with a friend without breaking the bank. Its hours of fun, for less than the price of lunch. Overall, this game has everything you’d want from a chaotic, easy to pickup, difficult to master car battle game.

Not fun by yourself and the game is dead. Wouldn't be much fun with others either.

This game is a fun build your own battle bot. Unfortunately this is only 1 vs 1 or 2 player Co-Op. Definitely worth the price

Brutally simple bot builder. Even simpler battle mode. Best time killer ever. Can be a bit buggy at times.
Budget Battle Bots: B+
There are two ways to play Sokbots: PvP, and PvE. They are actually nothing alike. In PvP, you are aiming to damage your opponent as possible as quickly as you can; the arms race is for damage output and turns into a game of feints and bluffs to drain their shields. In PvE, you are facing an infinite number of slowly spawning low-level bots; you initially see how high of a score you can get before running out of health, reach a point where you run out of battery instead, and then try to balance the two. I can't speak confidently about PvP, but in PvE there are two key issues: [olist] [*] Most weapons aren't worth their battery drain, and [*] Most >$0 parts aren't worth the increase to your repair costs. [/olist] This means that unless you're swimming in cash (which you eventually are), you'll opt for a box for your chassis and standard spikes for your melee. This isn't a dealbreaker; in fact this is still a pretty solid game in spite of that. But it's worth pointing out. Also, the cool arenas in the trailer are only for PvP, sadly. For PvE, you're stuck in a flat boring walled area. Still, with those caveats - recommended. If you can, buy this one for yourself and a friend, so you'll have a PvP partner to arms race with.

Nice basic little battle bots game. Functional for how slim of a game it is, had only one crash and it saved our money. We played co-op which was fun, and one PVP battle which worked as well. It was easy to get started. Building the battle bots themselves was the best part but the battles themselves were fun. Definitely worth the $2 on sale, $3 normal price.

This game is weird. I saw it on videogamedunkey's video "Mom hid my game!" and thought it would be fun to play, unfortunately nobody is really playing this game and its not all that fun. The price is justifiable because theres no like wheel customization or anything and it becomes frustrating after a while because I have no idea what upgrades to get really because there really isnt all that much upgrades and the singleplayer is abysmal. The controls kind of suck too, no WASD only arrow keys and no settings. This game needs more content. Its not really fun without another person to play with.

Pros: Cool concept and customization Cons: Single player works but I get a connection error when trying to play with friends on steam. Same goes from the people I am trying to playing with. No settings or interface on main menu or in game. Unless I find a solution to make the online work I would not recommend this as a multiplayer game. Hoping for a steam fix.

Tried multiplayer with a friend but it didn't seem to work...I always get the error message "You or your opponent disconnected :(" before a match start, even when I select single player. Reminds me of a shareware game I remember playing decades ago where you'd build your mechs and send them into battle, but it appears to be abandoned by its developers since this issue was reported by other users as well.
