Couldnt figure out how to use FIRESTARTER on wood.
Realized I had to go to build tab to BUILD a CAMPFIRE. You need four stone to I ran around for 20 minutes looking for one at a time sporadically.
By the time I got the fire started I spent five real minutes standing next to the fire, and this had my HP slowly tick down to 0/1160 HP. This didn't kill me and idk why.
This is where I decided this was a negative review. Standing next to the fire gave a moodle saying my Body Temp was rising. However it never did. I don't want to play a game where either - stats are given but don't matter, or are bugged and just simply don't work.
I rushed around and felt accomplished and then got nothing from it. At 95.4F my character will sit in a dead save until I open this back up hoping to see a difference.

i personally like the game reminds me of like a harder project zomboid it throws you into the game it does teach you things just not all in one go you have to learn it by actually doing it for example the game don't tell you how to lock pick something till you try to same with crafting and other things for an early access zombie type game i give it a 7/10 the repeated sound affect when your person swings a melee weapon gets repetitive it feels a bit realistic with the harsh weather only thing that i do believe is a bug is when my health got to 0 due to hypothermia i never died once i just went and crafted band aids in case i did die. crafting also feels a bit weird at times but the zombies or the monsters are really cool and the sounds they make especially at night are kinda scary a little especially when you get ran up on. would be cool to see a future pvp mode to play with friends are battle against them or randoms not like a battle royal but more like a day z thing with servers and bases you can build. maybe a weather system or something causing you lose health very quickly when it snows due to hypothermia especially when your new to the game it can be a bit overwhelming but i got this gem of a game on sale and learned to love it so far.

While I had high hopes for this game, I can't recommend it to other players. Currently, it falls in an awkward spot between CDDA and Project Zomboid without the strengths of either. CDDA has much greater simulation depth and Project Zomboid looks better and is easier to navigate. The inventory tetris is interesting, but the controls are not intuitive and the sorting options are rather limited. Hopefully the game will continue to improve through early access.

Not Recommended (Yet)
I've owned this game for 2 years now. Every year, I come back and give it another shot, usually after a major update—spending 10+ hours hoping it's finally improved. But after all this time, I have to say: I'm disappointed.
The development is extremely slow, and unfortunately, many of the features the community has asked for are still missing. Promised additions and quality-of-life improvements just haven't materialized. Even now, basic things like adjustable sliders, Steam Workshop support, or long-requested features are absent.
Worse, there are still serious bugs—like one where my entire building just disappears, leaving only the furniture or placed items floating in space. That kind of issue makes the game feel unfinished, even after years of updates.
What frustrates me most is that many positive reviews still say, "I hope the devs will add this or that soon." After two years, I think it's fair to stop hoping and start holding them accountable.
We gave the devs time. We gave feedback. And it feels like we've been ignored.
I really want to recommend this game—but in its current state, I can't. If you're interested, I suggest waiting until the developers actually start listening to the community and deliver what was promised.
