Dungeon Cards is a simple/borderline minimalist, casual dungeon crawl rogue-lite. There are not any cards to collect and aside from the sprites looking like they could be cards, the game has nothing to do with cards at all (so the name may give you the wrong idea).
For the price it is well worth it. Progress is very grindy and you are pretty RNG dependent at times, but games rarely last more than 15 minutes so you are never too upset if a run gets cut short due to bad luck and the little upgrades along the way tide you over until the big upgrades. I enjoy that every run nets you some gold so you always feel like you are progressing, even just a little bit.
I found myself tiring of it after about half an hour to an hour of play at a time, so its good to waste short periods of time and come back to again and again.
I'd recommend this game just about to anyone who is looking for a short, casual game.

Dungeon Cards is a minimalistic dungeon-crawler game.
Game-play
This title is a dungeon-crawler of sorts, a very simple one. Though simple, the game-play is surprisingly engaging, and you'll have to really think about your every move. You can pick one of many (unlockable) heroes, each with their own special abilities. You start with the Knight, who's gimmick is extra-HP. He's the least eventful of the cast, which ranges from vampires to vikings. In addition to a hero, you get to pick three (of twelve unlockable) powers, which are activated as you collect a certain number of Gold and Rubies.
To progress, you want to earn certain high-scores. One nice thing about this game is that even if you fail miserably, you can keep the gold you earned and spend it on upgrades and new heroes. If you reach certain high-scores, you can even unlock sets of cosmetics for your intrepid heroes! How cool is that? Now, let's talk a bit more about the game-play.
The dungeons are just three-by-three in size. There are no walls to walk-about, but the hazards you face will create an incricate (and very deadly) maze. From spike-traps to bombs, there's plenty of things that you'll want to go-around. Many of the enemies have interesting mechanics, such as an ability to heal themselves, others, or even manipute the dungeon lay-out.
You can carry a single weapon (unless you're the "Blacksmith"), which has an expendable damage-value. Every enemy has a set HP, which also acts their own damage value. When you attack an enemy, you use-up your weapon as much as-needed to destroy them. For example, if you have a sword with a value of "5", and you attack an enemy with a value of "3", after destroying them your sword will now have a value of "2".
Items have to be carefully used, especially in certain un-fair situations. You have no inventory (other than your single weapon), so items are used straight-away. As everything is randomly generated, you will find yourself in incredible battles (and outright unfair battles). Once you get the hang of things, you'll feel like a whiz smashing the mouse-button (as if this game was in real-time).
Story
To my knowledge, there isn't any story to this game. You just pick a hero and fight a bunch of generic enemies with generic weapons and armor. I'm sure you might find a sentance or two describing the in-game items and enemies, but that's hardly lore.
Visuals
This title's sprites are absolutely minimal, but I like them. The colors and animations are delightful, and that's all I have to say about them. There isn't much (if anything) in regards to crazy-pixelated art, but sometimes simple is better. The sprites do exactly what they need to do, and they don't try to be somethng they aren't.
Verdict
Yes, I do reccommend this game. Even at full price (or 4 USD for me). It's a great game for a late-night time-killer, or a time-killer in generate. There's a lot to keep you hooked, and there's a lot of content. New mechanics keep the game-play fresh, and randomization insures that every game is just a bit-different than the last.

I initially thought this was a fun, silly game, but with a few hours under my belt I have soured on this grindy, difficult slog of a game.
That said, I am six hours in, and I find myself drawn back to it, so I am changing my review back to a positive one. It has taken me this long to get to dungeon five, and there are a lot more to go. I can't say I will stick to the end, but if I played for six hours, hard to say it stinks, even if it does get frustrating.
ADDENDUM: For people who like to get achievements, this game seems to be broken in that regard. I have earned a handful, and Steam shows me as not getting any. Doesn't bother me, but I know some people whom it would.
ADDENDUM: Another thirty four hours in, and I am still playing. Still frustrating, but still pulled back in to the durn thing. I have unlocked a few more characters, and the balance and variety is interesting, but darn I wish it wasn't so easy to get massacred so quickly, so often. Good, high scoring games are really few and far between.
ADDENDUM: Almost eighty hours before I got bored, that's pretty good. Didn't finish it, but got close.

Personally, my game was very buggy and crashed constantly. The game is also too simple which leads to it getting boring very fast. Also this game is FREE on mobile and it works better on a phone, so I would just get it on your phone instead.

Excellent RogueLite, simple gameplay that gets slightly more complex as new characters, powers and dungeons are unlocked.
The biggest problem with the game is the lack of gold drops, takes way too much grind to unlock upgrades, and after a while way too many strong monsters start spawning.
I might ask for gamepad support for those who don't like to play with a mouse and keyboard.

EDIT 1: After playing this game for a while, realizing that four powers are better than three.
EDIT 2: Getting a high score rating for 1, 2 & 3 starts should give +1 MaxHP for that character.
EDIT 3: Finally hit max level on two powers, found max level is inconsistent between powers.
EDIT 4: The 4x4 dungeon has become my favorite ... any chance for adding a 5x5 dungeon?
EDIT 5: Reaching max level way too early ... upgrades should be cheaper and have 10 levels.
EDIT 6: Diagonal coins should convert to gems ... if you're going three in a row, dunno why not.
EDIT 7: Bug, killing a multiple-form enemy drops gold of the last form, rather than the sum.
EDIT 8: Game needs a balance patch ... when 4 of 9 squares are 20+ & 40+ ... certain death. https://i.postimg.cc/yxHv6DLH/Dungeon-Cards-3x3-Monsters-20s-40s.png
EDIT 9: Coming across monsters with 20+ before earning 100 gold ... broken randomization.

https://i.postimg.cc/0yGLf2zK/Dungeon-Cards-3x3-Monsters-starting-20s.png
EDIT 10: Often, 4x4 has too many strong monsters and nowhere to run ... needs balance fix.

https://i.postimg.cc/RVg76bP8/Dungeon-Cards-4x4-Monsters-19-plus.png
EDIT 11: Dungeon 6 should be the final dungeon, having all the characters against you.
For Dungeon 6 as the final dungeon, please call it the Nemesis Dungeon.
