I do recommend this game if you're into souls-likes and cats, the combat is great and the characters are cute, but I caution anyone looking for a more polished experience; it is a bit rough around the edges at the time of writing this review. Currently the game feels held back by some technical issues and half implementations. It will be great if these get sorted out with more time in development; these things made it hard for me to get into the game and made it feel more like a prototype. - The item description does not appear correctly in the menu when cycling between items in the inventory. - I was unable to change between menu tabs in the skills and magic screens. - Long load times and hitching despite being on an ssd. - Enemies invincible in the tutorial area. The enemy used to teach backstabbing survived without taking any damage. - Some stats appear to have no effect like equip load and their corresponding attribute did not appear to increase the stat. I was heavy load with 18/1 equip load and there did not appear to be any penalty. - Armor does not appear to have any stats associated with it other than equip load. - Sometimes while climbing I'd get warped to another window or ledge I climbed over earlier. - I am a finesse build, but I couldn't tell if my weapon was scaling differently with the stat. I had a sword and shield, and claws which both appeared to scale equally with strength or finesse. - Some interactions don't appear to have a prompt like interacting with the shops in the first town and some doors making it confusing which things you can interact with. - Item pickups would sometimes be culled, making it confusing to locate them, such that upon entering the room it does not appear to be there and appears a moment later at long as you're looking in the general direction of the item. While some of the denser environments were very detailed and appealing, the larger spaces feel like they are struggling to fill the space. The first town has so much unused space there are NPCs that serve no purpose scattered around in odd locations to fill it in. The first boss arena lacks a strong atmosphere; I sort of wandered in without realising it was a boss arena until the cutscene started. It's just a raised piece of land in some water next to a small dock and a small lake. It would be nice to have some environmental details around that tell you about that enemy or indicate the enemy lives there, like maybe some shipwrecks or talismans. The boss itself was great and felt threatening at any distance with a toolkit of melee and projectile attacks that keep you on your toes, it would just be nice to have a more interesting environment. The combat is a treat. It feels responsive and your attacks feel like they have impact. Enemies get staggered if hit. Stealth kills are strong. The telegraphing for enemy attacks gives you plenty of time to dodge, parry or block even if you get caught mid attack. Parrying and being aggressive enough lets you do a visceral attack for big damage. You can also get parried yourself if you aren't paying attention. It reminds me of Sekiro, but less parry spammy because it doesn't let you animation cancel as easily. NPCs are fully voice acted and it's done well. It's enjoyable listening to Atreus talk about how bad I smell. There's also subtle references to other games with cat races, like Khajiits! The character customisation is pretty nice, giving you a choice of clan and various preset furs, even including hairless cats. The customisation won't let you get into facial or body structure details, but the variety of fur patterns should allow most people to recreate their irl kitties. I made mine to look like my irl ragdoll cat.

Just started the game, got about 2 hours in. Fun souls like game, not crazy difficult but still offers a challenge. Enjoying the different attacks you can do so far!

This game can be great! What sold the game to me was the movement and the combat from the videos. But with within 1 hour of playtime, I've already encountered several game breaking bugs. Getting stuck in buildings, Getting stuck when climbing, projectile enemies poorly animated (not showing where they actually aim and you get hit even if you're behind them). One time I even got teleported back to the beginning of the game, losing around 15 minutes of progress. And the game freezes for like 10 seconds every 5 minutes.... I might play some more, even with the game being in this state, but I can't recommend it to anyone.

This kitty cat game is super cool! Encountered a few bugs but its to be expected with early access! For one I got stuck in a wall and a ugly fat rat got a free kill… Graphics could be optimized possibly too! Im new to this genre of games and if anyone is looking for something new, try this! Hoping for a area of the map with a happier atmosphere and bright blue skies! =)

I am incredibly impressed with this game. The combat and movement is fluid and intuitive, the graphics and art direction are really excellent, and even with the limited number of skills/spells available in early access they are still allowing for multiple styles of play. While the game does not run perfectly, I personally have not run into any game breaking bugs. In my 8 hours to date I have had the game crash only once, and I have encountered glitches that required me to restart the game only twice. Besides some occasional asset pop-in upon loading into a new area/respawning, and the very infrequent frame drop, the game runs quite smoothly for being an early access indie game. My one suggestion would be to tone down some of the HUD elements, or at least give us an option to customize what pops up on the screen (a quest log in the pause menu instead of on the HUD, and a setting for dynamic health/mana bars would be ideal). I'm looking forward to finishing all they have available at this time and cannot wait for the full release!

still fairly early in, so ive not 100% made up my mind about the game, but it feels... kinda rough. environments are fairly pretty, i like the elements of stealth, its generally interesting exploring some of the areas, but it feels overall rough. combat feels kinda stiff, the draw distance for items on the ground feels too short, making it possible to miss things if you're too far away and just assume there isnt anything there, rings and talisman descriptions as of the time of review are just the same as your weapon. so far i havent figured out how to switch loadouts, if you even can, because holding x (xbox controller) and pressing d pad left just used my mana restoring items, and changing the slot of those items didnt let me use it still. overall the game is pretty alright, and id like to give the game a possitive review, though id like to say its a very tentative reccomend. i can handle jankiness in games, and this does have some jankiness, it just needs a good ammount of polish. i understand its in early access and things will improve, but its also always important to remember its not a guarantee that things will get better

Seems like a cool game, but it keeps freezing for no reason and when I loaded up an old save everything was...messed up lol, again was a cool game when I played the demo and seems like one, but they definitely got things to fix, so I'll refund for now and maybe come back to it in the future

I’ll be honest—this game kicked my ass. On normal difficulty, no less. I’ve never really considered myself a fan of the Dark Souls genre or its masochistic approach to difficulty, but this game? It pushed me to my limits and somehow kept me coming back for more. Every encounter feels like a test of patience and precision, and while the frustration is real, so is the satisfaction when you finally overcome a tough fight. It walks that fine line between punishing and rewarding, and to its credit, it manages to stick the landing. Despite the constant beatdowns, it’s a hell of a lot of fun.
