A fantastic game reminiscent of classic point-and-click adventures like Space Quest. Great music, engaging puzzles, and a fun story. Worth the price.
I can only think of two negatives: some of the art is a bit rough and I would have liked a bit more of an introductory cutscene to introduce the story, but these are minor things and don't take away from the fun I've had so far.
Overall I've thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to finishing it. I'll update this review after completion.

A wonderful adventure in a world lost in space and time, filled with interesting characters and dialogues. Even though the game is a bit short, it's definitely worth playing!

Not a bad game. Puzzles are not too wacky and I like this retro art style. The only grudge I have is the game is pretty short and both endings are basically the same.

Void Breach is a classic point and click adventure game inspired by adventure games of the past
In Void Breach you play as Noah, trying to find his daughter who has gone missing after a terrible accident in his lab. The game takes place in a strange world, full of puzzles and weird characters as you work your way to a thing called "The Entity", a being of power which has kidnapped your daughter. The game offers a wide variety of landscapes, ranging from a witch's castle and a haunted mansion, to the icy top of a mountain and lush jungles. You can even dive underwater transformed as an octopus!
The puzzles of the game are logical which make the game ideal for inexperienced adventure gamers. Also, the dialogues with the various characters are subtle and brief, which is great as very long ones can cause frustration for some, especially for players not accustomed to such games yet. The soundtrack is great and especially the tune at the beginning of the game is astounding!
Do not let the low resolution graphics dissuade you from playing this game. It is a love letter to adventure games of the distant past and it is well worth a place in every adventure gamer's library!

Void Breach is a fever dream of a game in which you are a scientist teleported into a fantastical world in search of his missing daughter. One of the first characters you meet is a large tree with the body of a giant squid, and it gets weirder from there. Over the course of the game’s short length, you will continue on to visit a haunted house, a gothic castle, a sunken ship, a jungle cave, and a bar restroom, and you will speak to mermaids and ghosts and witches.
The gameplay in Void Breach consists of very simple inventory puzzles; early on in the game there will be many paths that are blocked off, and each path is generally unlocked with a single inventory item found elsewhere in the game. Characters will also ask you to run errands for them to locate and bring back certain things in exchange for information. There is quite a lot of stomping back and forth across the world with how spread out the items are.\
The puzzles, such as they are, are not very challenging, but there are a few that have cryptic clues that need to be worked out. There’s also a few red herrings – sometimes items don’t work in places where they logically might, because you have not yet found the “correct” item that works even better in that situation yet. There are other places in the game that seem to indicate there may be a puzzle there, like a mysterious fireplace, or a door that’s been jammed shut, but do not actually serve a game function.
Despite this, this is a fun little game that looks like it came straight out of 1987. The original music is very listenable, as well.
I am looking forward to more things from this developer, like the recently kickstarted project The Corruption Within.

Void Breach is a surprisingly fun little retro adventure game. The graphics are just as garish and janky at they look in the trailer, but there's something endearing about this kind of boldly ugly style. I guess I am exactly the target demographic because I'm old enough to have played the original games that were built in this style, so the aesthetic really worked for me. It's like a mishmosh of childhood memories you don't quite recall.
It helps that the music is very, very good. Seriously, the game is worth buying just for the music alone. The puzzles are all of the "your path is blocked, find the thing that will unblock it" type, but because there aren't many locations and there aren't many items, you can't really get stuck. I only had to look up a walkthrough once, and it's because it wasn't intuitive to me that you can use items on yourself as well as other things. So now you know. If you like oldskool adventure games, or that Ceephax style of melancholic chippy synth music, you'll like this game. Short, sweet, solid.

A retro-styled point&click adventure game, where you play as a scientist whose daughter disappeared during an experiment with dimensional waves, and an opportunity to rescue her brings you to another world with the weirdest environment and creatures. The game is most resembling to the early Sierra “quest” adventures, graphics look very similar to first King’s Quests or Space Quests. The storyline has one central plot where you search for your lost daughter, otherwise it is a haphazard mix of partial quests and items spread across randomly laid locations. Gameplay is fairly easy and you will rarely get stuck, the only problem I had was with the controls – there is no bar to select walk/look/use/talk icons, instead you need to cycle through them via keyboard or mouse wheel, which can get pretty frustrating. Overall the game feels like an experiment of a point&click adventure, but it’s still a worthy game of its own which brings entertainment and nostalgia for the golden age of adventures.

Interesting short game. The biggest strength in this game are the puzzles. The graphics look good, but some graphic elements, like the hand mirror, don't match to the EGA pixel graphics (different sized pixels).
What I personally didn't like so much was the GUI. It took too much getting used to for me.
The plot was a bit confusing, but towards the end of the game it made more and more sense.
I would have liked more depth with some of the characters. The two endings aren't so much different.
If you like short fantasy sci-fi games, you will enjoy Void Breach.
I had fun playing it.

Void Breach is an indie PnC game that was made using an old low-res graphical art style from the 80s. But you should definitely not judge the game by its cover. The simple but colorful palette has in fact a certain charm as we notice all the more all those little details that were carefully drawn in each scene. Adding to it a beautiful soundtrack (that can be found in the game install folder), the result is a relaxing and very enjoyable little game telling a fantastic tale with rich atmospheric settings.
We play as Noah, a scientist, who lost his daughter during a failed experiment. One year later, while trying to reproduce the experiment in the hope to bring her back, we actually get suck by the same void breach that took her and then found ourself in an alternate fantasy world. We then start exploring around, trying to get our bearings in this strange new world, meeting all kind of strange creatures and looking for clues about our daughter whereabouts while trying to elude or not a mysterious Entity.
Gameplaywise, the game relies on traditional PnC gameplay:
- look at and talk to everyone and everything (yes, everything, I did not realize at first there were some objects I could in fact talk to).
- pay attention to all the clues given while exploring. Taking notes might actually be a good idea to keep track of what was said.
- try to figure out where to use the items in our inventory by testing them on anything. Finding a use for an item is the way to progress in the game as it will allow us to get a clue, gain a new item or unblock a certain path. Be warned that there is a lot of backtracking involved as it is not always obvious where an item could be used.
One of the things I could reproach to the game is that there were too few commentaries about the objects seen in the different scenes. There were many objects lying here and there, but we did not always had an explanation of what they were.
Also, the game ended a bit abruptly. A longer conclusion with maybe some simple animation showing what could happen next would have been most welcome.
But in all, that was a very charming and fun game to play, and I am really looking forward to the next game of the developer, The Corruption Within.

At first I was under the impression this was a space adventure which I'm not so keen on, but it turned out to have plenty of fantasy in the style of King's Quest. There's even a mermaid and underwater sequence with King Neptune that is very reminiscent of King's Quest II, and a dark castle that reminded me of Black Cauldron. I appreciate the obvious homage to classic Sierra games, with the main difference being that you can't die in this game as far as I know! For me this took some of the dramatic tension out of the experience, but that's because I love a good old Sierra death ;) One of the best things about this game for me is actually the music, which really adds to the atmosphere. The puzzles are quite logical for the most part, though there was a few times when I was stumped and had to resort to the "try everything on everything" method. The peppers puzzle for example...My big gripe can be summed up in one word: BACKTRACKING! I felt like there was too much walking back and forth to earlier screens, especially going all the way back to the underwater section when I thought I was done with it. The game was also too short! I really wanted the story to be expanded so that we get to know more about the characters we meet and especially The Entity. Also the 2 game endings only have slight dialogue differences and left me feeling dissatisfied. Despite these gripes this is a sweet love letter to the adventure games of yore, and hope to see more from Cosmic Void in the future! Maybe a sequel?
