Avoid this game, you'll just be disappointed.
Yes, the dinosaurs are cute, which is what originally tricked me into buying this game, but all the quality of life stuff needed in a cozy game is either lacking or frustrating.
The controls are some of the most fiddly ones I've ever used (outside of the original, non-remapped Thief controls), with far too many steps just to water a single plant (I'm sure glad farming is totally not A CORE PART OF EARLY GAMEPLAY), there is no house customization, almost no decorating, the NPCs are either forgettably bland or completely insufferable, and the character customization is minimal. So good luck if, like me, you want to make even vaguely manly guys or cute girls. You get one generic, wooden doll-looking body with ZERO variants, and no ability to customize your facial features AT ALL, beyond color and hair. The clothes are also quite limited, although the developers are now doing a kickstarter that adds clothes I very much do NOT want, so there's that. -_-
Save your money.

Absolutely adorable! If you like collecting things of different rarities, this will keep you interested for a long time. Discovering new dinos and their colorations is what makes this game for me. That, and the community.
PaPi's community is an absolute gem among games. I've never been in a more welcoming and collaborative game community before, and it's a true joy to be a part of. The game's official discord server has provided countless great moments and I can't stress enough how integral the people there have been to me enjoying this game for as many hours as I have. I'd recommend the game on the community alone.
That said, PaPi is not without flaws. It lacks polish in many areas and some mechanics aren't as in depth as you'd hope. But I think many reviewers have been unfair to it and not seeing that some "jank" is intentional friction to avoid making the game completely boring and meaningless. Limited inventory slots, slow progression cleaning up the ranch, daily busywork with your dinos and finding collectibles... That's what makes the game engaging.
The best way to enjoy the game is by working with its limitations and enjoying the discord community while you're at it. Give it a shot, you might just have a new fave.

this game feels very different from others in the sense that the quests are a bit different. theyre fairly easy and usually regurgitated after a while. my biggest gripe is the fact that theres a finite number of dreamstones, which are vital to keeping a dinosaur- this means at no point can you have all of the types of dinos on your plot. I also have an issue with the custom order section not being too user friendly, as well as the walking speed is SEVERELY slow and your character doesnt ever get more than 50 stamina to work with daily. otherwise, i really do like this game. i like the way cooking has been integrated, but its just missing something to make it feel more cohesive. i had to look up quite a few things because i felt soft locked at several points playing the game. its very much so based on exploring, rather than doing what it says to do!

This game is absolutely adorable. Everything about it is cute from the townsfolk to the maps to the dinos! There's always something to do although it can get a bit repetitive. You'll probably have to Google or look on Reddit for some guidance on some of the quests. I know I had to lol but other than that it's pretty self explanatory. It's very much set at your own pace so it's great to relax with. The farming aspect is A+ grade mindless relaxation. 10/10. 100% recommend. If you love dinos, you'll definitely love this game.

I tried to get back into playing Paleo Pines but I found the controls to be too annoying to bother much with it. I couldn't figure out what was going on and started a new world but it feels so handholdy and I remember why I stopped playing. You can't just go and tame the cool dinosaurs you see, each one needs a dreamstone which feels, in lack of a better word dumb?
I really wanted to like this game, I love dinosaurs and it looks cozy and cute but it's just not for me. I also didn't like Stardew Valley so take this review with a grain of salt I guess.

Very cute and fun, great to relax to! Big fan of Dinosaurs so a cute game where I can just collect them is great
However beginning of the game can feel very slow and confusing, there's not a lot pointing you on what to do and how to progress other then the main quests which only have you do certain tasks that can be difficult with no knowledge.
After breaking through that the game becomes a lot more enjoyable and its easy to sink hours into
I'm hoping that with the kickstarter they are able to improve the game for new players and current players!
