Again I find myself wishing I could write a neutral review. The game quality is forgivable for the price. Its plot depth is rather typical for a mobile game mystery. That said, I found myself more frustrated than not. For a point and click, those sections are frustrating, with no clearly defined artistic objects that have you button mashing the screen for anything that may register with no rhyme or reason - only to find a bit of advancing dialogue means areas you already checked may have new items now that you're looking for something new. The text speed was gratingly slow and no good way to adjust to fix beyond double clicking. I personally found the MC to be completely intolerable, which didn't endear me to saving his life. On more than one occassion I got stuck for 10+ minutes just because I couldn't figure out how to navigate my way around the room or even realize there WAS more to the room with the registered click area to move or turn not being well defined or easy to find. Once you actually found the objects - the puzzles were decent. The music tracks were limited, but fit the moods well. The art was good. At $5 I feel Iike I got what I paid for, but I still wouldn't tell anyone this is something they should purchase.

Nice game! Good suspenseful atmosphere with just a few splashes of light horror. I thought the story was really well done. All the characters have a reason to hate you so it keeps you guessing till the end who wants you dead. The one thing I might say is that there are a few parts that play uncomfortably like a dating sim, but maybe that's just me. Beyond that I would definitely recommend this game.

Fateful End: True Case Files intrigued me with its unique plot and art style, however between the text setting being either a snail pace, or double clicking to simply be able to read at a rate above that of a child reading for the first time, and puzzles that left the player with no direction I can't recommend this game to others. The story seems interesting but as I haven't been able to finish the game, and have only managed to complete the first 3 chapters, that is all I can speak on. The story I've witnessed quickly falls off after the first chapter, the main character isn't anyone you want to root for and it's not surprising that someone was out to kill him. The main character makes a living through scams and forgery to make quick easy cash that they can then invest. He's manipulative, you can make him cheat or be faithful to his girlfriend to whom he has no regard for her circumstances. Instead of trusting that her father is ill, the company she never wanted to inherit, and the long hours, the main character decides that she must be up to something because she refuses to get in bed with him more and more often. Despite the game having many choices the only indication I could find that they affected anything in the story was relationships to the main character. The puzzles and hidden object portions of the game were okay at best. Many of the hit boxes for the areas were difficult to find or poorly structured, and many locations could only be searched after triggering the event that required you to retrieve an item. This means that the player has to research entire rooms over and over again to find any new interactables within it. I could have overlooked this as I was still a bit intrigued by the side characters of the story, and because I wanted to see just how horrible of a person the mc was. Unfortunately, this wasn't were the issues ended. In the fourth chapter I visted Yu's (a girl the MC used to have a crush on while dating his current girlfriend) school only to get locked in the room. I collected the necessary items and entered them where needed. From here the in-game clue helper could no longer help me and the clue given from a projector didn't appear to do anything. There were no new interactables no matter how many times I clicked around the room. All I had to go off of was a piano tune with no context and a phone. I've never been a fan of music based puzzles, and likely never will be, at least not without a clear clue given for it. It's unfortunate how this particular title played out. I am not opposed to trying out other titles by the developers in the future, but for now I can say this one is a hard pass. There are simply too many issues in both design and structure for me to recommend this game to others in good faith. The art of the game may hold a level of polish but it isn't enough to save this game from the many problems already mentioned above.
