Yet more classic turn-based JRPG goodness from this great series, whose only negative aspect is the lack of length and content. It will be a masterpiece for those who love PS1-era Final Fantasy once all chapters are out and there is a full-game definitive collection. In the meantime I will have to just patiently wait for the next chapter and play each part as soon as it's available.

A fantastic short little JRPG. Part 2 continues directly from Part 1. It is about the same length. It is still a simple, story-driven JRPG at heart. Overall, it feels similar to "I am Setsuna" where the gameplay/battle system are extremely retro & simple; the main focus is simply story progression, village + NPC exploration, and some dungeon exploration. If that's your vibe, you'll love this series.
There could've been more nuanced gameplay elements added such as improvements to the battle system, equipment upgrades/items, and/or new mini-games. However, I do understand that this is an indie-title & not backed by a large dev team or an AAA publisher. Thus, cheap/short episodes & simplicity I can accept. Great to see some classic JRPG love with nice visuals getting released on Steam tbh. I'm all for it.

It's very short, but enjoyable. Seems like the systems in the game aren't fully realized, but for being a bite sized RPG? It's worth playing (provided you like turn based RPGs). Looking forward to EP 3 this year.

I like this a lot, played the first story and thought it was a great intro to the story and how the game is. This episode just takes everything from that and does it better in my opinion. Thank god for the fast forward button, I think I would have cried if I sat through all the battles in regular speed. The game is a pretty cool nod to rpgs like FF7, playing this kinda made me feel like what I was supposed to feel if I played FF7 back in the day. (never played the original)

An interesting sequel from the first game. The story gets deeper and the characters are still adorable. Can't wait for the next sequel.

After enjoying the first game, it was really disappointing how bad the second episode was. The game took the worst aspects of the combat from the first game and amplified them greatly. Basically; the short play time is only as long as it is because you have slow attacks, it takes several hits to hill enemies and you move slowly. If it was sped up slightly and you had normal encounters that weren't each painfully difficult AND painfully slow, it'd probably be maybe an hour worth of content. I didn't even finish this one and do not look forward to episode 3 because I can only imagine it getting worse.
I mean, what's the point of your strongest attack being you normal non-energized beam sword? It's a slog just to get part way through (I got to the temple/castle/ruins and ran into punishing enemies) and I couldn't take it anymore.

A great next episode for Light Fairytale, very enjoyable! Still gorgeous, still pleasant to play, still frustratingly short (one-man team, I get it) and now the wait for the next, and then final, episodes are going to be SO painful. I'd love to see a publisher pick this guy up and put some real funding behind him to get a "Light Fairytale Complete" or something. Really expand the game and make it bigger :)
Oh well, now to wait for Ep 3!

It took me just shy of 3 hours to play the first Episode. This one certainly felt shorter, but going by the game time, it appears to be around the same, perhaps slightly longer. I know that the length of the first episode was a complaint for some people - don't expect something much longer.
The game is mostly the same. But the atmosphere is different. It's hard to describe.
What I Liked
✅As with the first episode, a good job was done with the characters and making you feel what's going on.
✅Music was good (but see below)
✅The stakes were higher this time around; the introduction of elemental summon creatures (but see below)
✅I might be imagining things, but the difficulty felt more balanced this time around. I did import an Episode 1 save; not sure if that had anything to do with it.

⛔Kid. Here, we finally introduce a character that is supposed to be able to fight (actually wields weapons)...yet nearly got me killed against the snow dragon because she couldn't do jack. And the Episode ends before you get a chance to build Kid up to a point where she can actually be a strong contributor.
⛔Places where there's a brief cutscene that you can never go back to. I counted two of these situations. These drive me crazy, as someone who likes to explore. (Not being able to re-visit the graves is going to bother me for a long time.)
⛔The very first "puzzle" you encounter was annoying. Not because it was hard, but because the instructions really were not clear as to how simple this really could be.
⛔It seemed like the graphics were inconsistent. The first cutscene looks absolutely fantastic and places like the Snow Queen's palace are excellent, but then other areas look less detailed. I also felt that Episode 1's scenery was much more appealing overall.
It's well worth the price being asked. It's a throwback to older role playing games. But don't go into it expecting to lose days playing it. It's very short, but what you do get is quite good.
