One of the worse sim games, I have ever played. It's a scam of 20 dollars and you cant even refund it? Smh. Dont waste your money on this shit game, I would rather go play 2k. Whats wrong with it? Well I can't look at my rosters or even fix my depth chart, it crashes when I load into a game to coach. Its just a hot mess. Dont get it unless they update and fix their game.

I have nearly 200 hours in 2017, I bought this when my save ran into issues and the support team was still willing to take my save files and help me out with my issues, all for a $5 game I love with poor reviews.
This series is amazing, in terms of interface I'm more used to the old game and I do find the loading to be longer for this game but it's likely sacrificing speed for some stability older releases don't have. In terms of manager games there's a ton going on with this series but it was inviting enough to attract me and keep me interested, someone who does not play basketball but loves manager games.
It's a shame, in exchange for having a very involving sim you sometimes need to think about your own save file and have understanding where it and how it works, there's a lot of moving pieces and sometimes issues happen, in the '17 release just loading and playing like other Steam games would cause your game to eventually crash into a wall, you're signing up for a sim game so I'd assume using your head could also be a fair ask.
I do personally recommend the 2017 release, it's a cheap purchase and while it's not a perfect product it gives you an idea what you can expect from the series + I have to respect they'll help me fix my game I paid almost nothing for after they've released newer versions.
This game effectively demands same scumming - I make saves starting as MyGame1 and just add to the number at the end, if a save corrupts and you can't recover it you'll have a slightly older file to load back up and I've never had the file corrupt the same a second time.
Sometimes a save doesn't end up in the right place, you just have to move a game file back into the right folder and it'll load again.

Pretty fun, but lacks lots of usually-required functionality (looking at Overalls in a Fantasy Draft, as an example; also being able to filter instead of just sort). My game also gets an unhandled exception error after Season 1 and then I can't play anymore, so that's pretty rough. I would say wait a while before buying (even though it's April and the game was released in November).

It's a chore.
I own the 2018 college basketball game from Wolverine Studios and have probably played it upwards of 200 hours (not on Steam). I think I would love this game if everything didn't move SO. SLOW. In DDS: College Basketball 2018, when you click on a tab, it loads pretty seamlessly and quickly. In this game, whenever you click on ANY tab, it gives you a loading screen. It's very annoying and hard for me to understand why it's necessary, since this game is not graphically demanding. When you simulate through a week in the college basketball game, every CPU game simulates incredibly fast, and when you reach the final game of a given day and it simulates to the next day, it goes pretty quickly. In this game, there's far fewer games on a given day since there are only 30 teams, but it takes so much longer to simulate through the days. It was hardly noticeable in the other game but in this game, it's torturous.
Also, I can't and won't accept that when you're drafting, in any capacity, fantasy, G-League or NBA, you can't draft by overall and you can't draft by potential because you aren't allowed to sort for that type of thing. That is an absolute necessity. That's the basic requirement, period. In Madden you can do that by creating a draft board in which you highlight the prospects you're interested in drafting so that when the draft comes, you can refer back to that list and pick accordingly instead of having to fish through every single draft prospect to find the one that you're looking for. They also give you draft projections for each prospect (1st Round-Undrafted). In NBA 2K, They give you the option to create a draft board as well, along with the ability to sort by the amount of scouting you've done on that player and, yes, their overall or their potential. I have no way of knowing whether or not any of that was actually put into this game because I got through 49 minutes before being so annoyed by how SLOW it is, but the review that I saw of this game says that none of the drafts let you do that type of thing, and from my early early experience with the G-League Draft, it seemed to confirm what he had to say.
Don't buy this game, simply
