This is the first game on Steam for which I've written a negative review, and I do not enjoy doing so. But unfortunately, I feel like I must warn people away from purchasing Ice Cream Fantasy. I myself got this game when it was on sale on a whim. When I got around to trying it out, one of the first things I noticed is that the word gallery was misspelled as "galery" on the main menu. That was a sign of what was to come. I got all 21 achievements for this game within 10 minutes: one for starting up the game (not too surprising, for I have other games that have done that as well) and the remaining 20 for starting twenty different 3x3 sliding block puzzles. Not finishing said puzzles, but just for picking them from the "level" select. And after all that, I noticed something I had never experienced before: despite the game's page within my library as having all achievements unlocked, it wasn't considered as such by my achievement showcases. Baffled, I created a thread on the game's discussion page (where I was only the second person to do so), and have yet to hear anything. I also sent an email to the developer, and have experienced a similar lack of success. Lastly, I went to the game's page on True Steam Achievements (which isn't even an official Valve website), and posted on the forum there about my experience. It's through that last website that I finally got some answers. I had heard of games like this, where achievements are unlocked with effectively no effort whatsoever through various YouTubers, but I didn't know that there was a feature Steam itself provides to describe games that will not affect one's achievement stats: Profile Features Limited. I also took a closer at the only other thread on this game, and while I didn't play far enough to verify it myself, apparently some of the sliding block puzzles aren't even possible to solve, yet the developer publicly never responded to requests to have them fixed. And while it's not considered as such yet at the time I am writing this review, there is a category on True Steam Achievements for games such as this that I sadly feel this qualifies for: spam games. I don't like writing negative reviews or trying to discourage people from getting games, even ones with plenty of undeniable issues. But even if and when Ice Cream Fantasy game goes on sale, I cannot in good consciousness recommend getting it. The game requires so little effort to get achievements for that one's Steam profile won't even count them, and between the lack of proofreading, responses from the developer to questions from customers, or anything even resembling passion from the people who made it, I'm left feeling that the only reason I don't regret buying it at all was that it proved to be a valuable learning experience. After all, I know to keep an eye out for games with "Profile Features Limited" on their store page from now on. Hopefully, others will also know to avoid purchasing Ice Cream Fantasy from either learning from my own experience or already knowing to look for that particular description on any given Steam game's store page.
