Fun game with a diverse array of items, loot, spells/abilities, and enemies. The character progression and ability to upgrade gems which can be further upgraded or used immediately to improve weapons/armor is an interesting mechanic that has me debating whether to save gems for later, upgrade them, or use them immediately on my current equipment. The roguelike dungeons which are separated into different worlds to allow starting play from different points is a concept I haven't seen before, which I liked. You can either go back to previously beaten worlds (5 levels each) to loot, complete quests, and upgrade your character, or continue from the furthest set of levels that you've unlocked. But either way the worlds are procedurally generated each time you begin one and you must play each through from start to finish to complete it (but you can always exit with your gained experience and loot).
Some in-game mechanics could do with a hotkey instead of necessitating being mouse-clicked, such as using the number keys for abilities or 'e' to open equipment, etc. But overall after becoming used to the controls I was able to quickly adapt to the game and found myself improving.
I'd recommend the game to anyone who likes RPG style progression as the array of items and upgrades is where the game shines best.

I wanted to really enjoy this game. I feel like I gave it an honest try. But in the end it's just not an enjoyable enough experience to continue playing. The developer is great. He responds to feedback and frequently updates the game. But at it's core it doesn't make me want to play more of it.
Pros:
The controls and combat feel great
Cons:
The levels are basically the same thing over and over and they only way they scale is through more hp and more damage for the monsters.
The loot does not scale accordingly, nor is there enough of it to truly call it lootcraft. There is a potion that increases rarity of item drops by 4% for 6 minutes. But I can easily go 10-15 minutes without finding any weapons or armor to take advantage of that benefit.
The bosses are just scaled up versions of the monsters in the normal levels. The only technique to beating them is wearing down their enormous amounts of health.
Level ups don't really make you any stronger or give you more attack power.
Many of the monsters heal each other, and when combined with already high health they can take forever to kill. This wouldn't be so bad but there is a hidden timer that causes a poison cloud to come in and start killing you if you take too long on the levels.
Overall, I had enough fun personally to spend $8 but I might not have made the purchase if I knew I wouldn't finish the game out of frustration.

Super fun and engaging! I can't believe this is made by one person...
Love the crafting system and collecting gems to make better items. Super addicting and there's so much to do, new things keep unlocking as you level up. Really awesome that it's basically infinitely playable too, you can make new characters to change your strategy - classic RPG fun :)
So much content for the price, worth every penny!

I love RPG games and love the nostalgia of the classic game feel, which this game has. The controls and mechanics are simple enough, yet the game itself is deceptively challenging. It starts off slow but when you get to the second dungeon, I felt like the difficulty curve got much steeper, so it forced me to play more strategically. Graphics are simple yet colorful which I really like. So far so good!

Lootcraft is an fun RPG/Rogue-lite-ish game, here is a list of pros and cons that I found through my current playthrough of the game to simplify the review.NOTE: I wrote alot below, both so that players can see how this game is well worth the price, but also I noticed its a single developer and i feel the more detailed the negatives, the more helpful it will be to try and fix them.
Its a game well worth it's modest price for the amount of effort and game there is here, but weird and bad choices are scattered all over that needlessly hurt the game
PROS:
+ The amount of items and loot, the game truely lives up to the name.
+ The gameplay is based in different leveled dungeons which give you different level and kinds of loot based on your level and skill to get there.
+ Art style feels sort like a retro flashgame from the mid 2000's especially the main character who looks like Interactive Buddy a bit (nostalgia hit)
+ Combat is simple and fun
+ The stats are easy to read, and easy to see which item is better quickly (very important for loot games)
+ Movement felt wierd and heavy during the tutorial where there are no enemies and bigger spaces, but you get used to it once you start playing through the actual game.
+ Actual care and effort went into this game unlike most steam indie games nowadays
+ Sound design is well mixed in, the music is present but does not overpower the gameplay sounds like alot of other games.
CONS:
- Quality of life improvements (Other reviews mention this alot aswell). This game needs some serious QOL fixes which includes pressing ESC to pause the game, pressing TAB to open inventory, closing all open windows with a button press, being able to climb to the top of the ladders without having to jump (this currently causes me to air dash alot)
- The air jump-dash and ground pound are both horribly mapped out. It feels awkward and bad to ground pound or dash. Instead of pressing SPACE -> W -> Space there should be an option to just press W while in the air, same for just pressing S in the air (or even just a seperate button just for dashing/pounding).
- The UI is just way, way to large. Almost comedically large. There should be an option to change the sizes as many times I will accidentaly click the lore or inventory during gameplay.
- An option to destroy inventory items during actual gameplay levels would help remove item drop clutter from being accidently re-picked up.
- The flying enemies are annoying to fight. I am unsure if I am suppose to jump and hit them in the air (as i am doing now, but takes forever to fight them) or just carry a range weapon just to fight them. Maybe make them fly lower to the player so melee isnt as usless against them? note, this could also just be me being bad against them, idk.
- The spells are very unusually made...There are ~30? spells and you can only permanently pick 3 and never change them (unless i read it wrong ingame) and they are all temporary improvements, damages or AOE's. I would rather have permanent skills i could invest into like +5% hp or unlock triple jump then these current spells. I havent even wanted/used any of them yet as I dont want to permanently unlock one and also just dont like them. I would personally completely remove or overhaul this.
PS. I saw this game posted on r/Unity3D and decided to check it out (and buy it). So maybe post it more around reddit?
