Incredible pack and 100% worth the price, unlike other asset packs on here. While the graphics are okay and don't really mesh well with MV's RTP, the music is absolutely STELLAR and is a must-buy for that alone.

The DS resource pack for MV which adds a more chibi look compared to MV's standard RTP. From my understanding the sprites have been redrawn/ edited to fit MV's size rather than being rescaled as is done in the similar styled FES pack. Because of this, the characters are more sharp/ crisp, and (probably) better quality (Note I don't own the FES pack so I can't say this is accurate, it's just based from my research). Pictures (Battlers, Bust) - Probably my favourite out of the pack, the pictures are all well drawn and really good quality. The downsides are that there are only 36 battlers which probably isn't enough for a decent sized RPG (minus recolouring of course) and the style doesn't fit with MV's battlers so you can't really use them together. I got the VX Ace & XP Hero Pack, which contains VX Ace's battlers that are more in style, just so I could use these battlers, you can do something similar. For busts (+ faces) they don't have any facial expressions and, as per license, you're not allowed to edit them so you can't modify them yourself. Don't think there is anything you can do about that. Characters - This style of character is probably one of the selling points for this pack. They have a nice, sharp outline which I believe is thanks to being redrawn. There is a decent number of characters + recolours but one problem is that some characters don't match with their associated bust. Some busts have unique features that makes them different to the stock character, (e.g dark skin, old) but their character doesn't have that feature as they are all copied from the same template. You're allowed to edit them to fix this I guess and they do give you the character templates so you can create your own unique character in that style, but I (and most likely many others) don't have that skill so we can either learn it or make do. Tilesets - The bulk of the pack, and the other selling point. I do like the look however, my opinion is that making maps is a bit difficult and can even get annoying. Since the tilesets are a different style to the RTP, you'll need to figure out how everything does together. Sample maps do help but they don't show off how to use everything. I have also found that I need to make my own edits to the tilesets. It may be because I am a bit picky in what I wanted (e.g having different grass/ dirt layers on top of each other, moving A tiles to B) but I have noticed some issues with the tiles that I had to fix. The most obvious one is the Arabian tileset walls. Looking at screenshots 1 and 9 you see the green colouring on the bottom of the walls. The other wall tilesets don't have this green so I believe this is unintentional (Actually I checked FES's pack and there's green as well, its probably meant to be grass...). Other issues I noticed are some tiles that I think are meant to join are slightly off or have a different colouring so they don't join correctly. These issues most likely come from being redrawn, especially the issues with colouring. I wanted a pack to replace MV's RTP, and was deciding between DS and FES because of the style, eventually going with DS cause of the better quality. I'll forgive the lack of battlers because they look good and character expressions would have been nice but I don't need them yet. Sprites not matching their busts is a bit unfortunate (not sure if that is similar in FES) but having to make edits to the tilesets is not what I expected to do. It might just be because of how picky I want my maps to be, but since I had to make these edits (which I wasn't expecting), I'm marking this as not recommended. If you want a similar style straight out of the box with no edits I would probably suggest FES instead (again I don't own this so I can't absolutely recommend that over this one, just another alternative) because that has more content, i.e more battlers, includes character emotions and more tilesets (hopefully there wouldn't be a need for edits, but I think there is some overlap with the DS tilesets, so I could have done the same except with worse quality tiles). If you want better quality sprites (one advantage is that it can mesh well with other tilesets) or you're good with mapping (with or without edits) you might want this pack instead. The quality is still good and the style is nice, its just mapping can get difficult (I found it annoying with all the edits I have to do but that's just my opinion). I'm still going to continue using this pack, the edits I make are still manageable and if I use it more, my mapping should get better enough that I'm comfortable using the tilesets without edits (or the edits I want would already be done)
