I figured I would give it a shot, since I love punch out style games. It is pretty solid, really challenging about mid way through. I would say you could pick it up and do well, but if you learn the little tricks you get much better. For the price it is cheaper than a movie and I've already enjoyed playing it longer than most non LOTR movies last.

The game feels very polished with the menus, buttons and solid tutorial. The characters and environments are vibrant with an interesting art style. Music is great.
I don't usually play these kinds of games but the gameplay is nuanced and deeper than you would think.
I picked it up on sale and feel its very good value.

Difficult game, in the vein of Punch-Out! I need to stress that this game is not easy, but you will get better the more you play. You need to time your dodges in such a way that you have a split-second to punch the guy; if you're off by any slight amount of time you're fugged.
Overall, I'm glad I got this. The art style is not for everyone, but I like it.
Check it out if all this sounds good to you.

It's like Punch-Out, if Punch-Out was a shoddy flash game on Newgrounds.
The art style is kinda cool. It's got some attitude. I like that.
But I don't like the gameplay. Sorry.

This game is OG. If you're not advancing in the game it's because your skills aren't good enough. Keep practicing and get better, and the game will reward you. Chicken out and the game will mock you. It's basically Punch-Out!!! upgraded with a modern take. Definitely recommend.

Billion Beat is great. The visuals and music are on point. The gameplay follows the Punch-Out formula perfectly: time your punches and dodge or counter theirs. If you make a mistake, your character will take a bit to recover and that is more than enough time for your opponent to mess you up, so learn from coach Baby T and DON'T JUST MASH THE BUTTONS!
There's also a bunch of stuff to keep things fresh like "hype moves", items and even progression. Successfully landing a regular punch rewards you with a bit of energy and you need that energy to dish out the heavy punishment, so you quickly start to get into this flow of dodging and countering to build up your energy until you can finally let your hands fly.
If you lose your focus it's easy to get overwhelmed and lose a lot of health, but you can get some back by popping up some DRANX bottles during the fight (that's considered a b*tch move, though).
All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. It looked cool in the trailers, and it is cool when you play it. Also, it's on early access, so it'll probably get even better.
Play this if you want to knock out an ugly alien with a slap.

This scratches the Punch-Out itch for me.
I'm probably just bad at the game but there are times when the game sometimes feels like it doesn't have that snappy feel like Punch-Out, but that's mostly likely since I'm playing on hard-mode and timing is much more strict than I'm used to.
The music is very vibey, I dig it.
The art grows on you after a while, at least it did for me.
I think my biggest complaint about this game really is that the UI, while I absolutely dig its aesthetics (it's super stylish), it feels like a chore navigating the menus, especially since it takes a while to restart a fight which can ruin the flow if I have the adrenaline going and want another chance immediately. If you can skip dialogue or go through menus faster instead of waiting for the animations to finish, that would be a wonderful Quality of Life improvement that can improve game flow.
Overall, I would recommend this game if you like Punch-Out and want a challenge. Hope this game gets more recognition because from my understanding, this is a solo developer which I respect and there should definitely be more eyes on this since you don't get many of these type of games.

I can't recommend the game because the menus don't respect the players time in the slightest. Resets are an extreme slog. I don't care if the developer has a massive hard on for you not giving up and being a quitter. If I want to lab fights give me access to a reasonable system for resets. If you lose it takes about a full minute to restart the fight with the agonizingly slow speed of the menus all while text slowly prints out mocking you. I love punishing games but the secret to that is having quick resets on death/failure. Billion beat does not have that. I have finished plenty of games far more difficult than Billion Beat. But the menus are an absolute pain that kills my enjoyment.

I love this game, the world is always in need of more Punch-Out-likes and this scratches every itch it has, and the music is insanely good.
Only thing that could drive people away is how gross the characters look but they grow on you after a while.
The combat is a lot more 'groovy' than Punch-Out, more rhythmesque, if you will. Feels more like dancing than it does straight up beating the shit out of someone.

I've never written a review before, don't believe I'll make it a habit either, but this has to be said.
I'm absolutely baffled that you made such an unlikable game. The style is horrible, topped of with awful alien nudity. The cursing is off the top, not even sailors are that bad. The gameplay is absolutely relentless, it took me 40h the first playthrough, and it's 12 fights. TWELVE FIGHTS. Dark Souls is like baby food compared to this. There is no input buffer, so you have to be on point. You have to press the buttons with machine accuracy and timing. It is absolutely infuriating. No wonder this game is as unpopular as it seems. No one will ever play it. Only the absolute freaks of nature will give this any time of the day. This game is like a sieve that filters out everyone but the most hardcore machoists. And I love every second of this garbage.
Music is banger, game over screen gives you sweet lore snippets. The game teaches you just enough to get by, if you don't mind getting kicked when you're already down, but that's the way it's supposed to be. The style and presentation is just disgusting enough, that you question whether this was created by a genius or some smuch taking a joint. All of it works well together.
I like this game so damn much, that I tried to speedrun it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QT2OzWf0K-o Never done that before and don't think I'll speedrun that much in the future, but hopefully it'll help people find this game. It's GOTY.
May this game shine brightly and infuriate as many people as possible. It deserves all the recognition it can get.
