An almost empty worlds that asks for a platforming precision that the game controls don't offer and the world is not interesting enough to make me want to compensate it

I’m glad I got this game on a crazy discount, or I would have returned the game. Controls are very un-handy and it’s basically impossible to not die a million times while actually trying to get further in the game. To make matters worse, you respawn at your last checkpoint, which there are very few of in the game. The camera moves around as if it’s sentient, often making everything harder as you have to wrangle at the same time as trying to get the little character to not fall off a cliff, making you restart all your gruelling progress. Local co-op doesn’t really work either, with the co-op player often completely disappearing when dying instead of respawning, which can only be fixed by restarting the game.
