I wish the game had launched in this state, I hope that its getting more development in the future. Fantastic time. Im in the end game grind too.

Not what i originally paid for but considering the developers situation and their support for this game i am proud of what they have achieved. The developers of this game are so close to swinging for that home-run, while they have not achieved that here they are constantly loading up the bases and get players home. i really want them to succeed, i know their home-run is coming.

There's no doubt that Wayfinder had a difficult start. It was released into Early Access far too soon, likely forced by the previous publisher Digital Extremes, before DE jumped onto the on-going trend of layoffs and cutting their external games division. In short? Digital Extremes stabbed Airship Syndicate in the back and abandoned them. Instead of leaving the game as it were though, Airship Syndicate made the massive effort to turn Wayfinder into a viable stand-alone game and that has to be commended. It has a good story, the gameplay is dynamic and fun (and the closest to Darksiders since Darksiders) with diverse characters, and improvements have been made throughout while ALSO removing any and all micro-transactions, FOMO, and resolving the biggest issues. I decided to keep on trusting Airship Syndicate ever since Darksiders Genesis became one of my favourites in the franchise, and they have made a well-designed game that ABSOLUTELY is worth the price it costs. Whether you prefer to play Solo or Co-Op, I very much recommend this.

We got the game purely for the co-op aspect, the long loading times in co-op and an egregious bug that causes the guest's game to become stuck on the loading screen which then necessitates a full game restart KILLS the game for us. This has put us off further playing what is an otherwise very competently designed video game.

Wayfinder is a visually stunning game with a solid combat system, but it’s held back by underwhelming content design, poor progression balance, and a weak endgame – especially for solo players.
What’s Good:

Graphics are fantastic – beautifully designed environments and effects.
Music is calm, immersive, and never gets annoying.
Combat is fast-paced and satisfying, with a good rhythm of attacks, dodges, and ability combos that feel rewarding when mastered.
Boss fights are the real highlight – creative mechanics and real challenge.

What’s Not So Good:

It’s obvious the game was designed as an online session-based experience, not a proper single-player action RPG.
Story starts strong in the Highlands zone but quickly loses depth and interest afterward.
Side quests rely on outdated design – repetitive objectives like gathering resources, killing enemies, or shuttling items/messages between NPCs that are barely ten steps apart.
Progression feels badly tuned. Most interesting features unlock near the very end – or worse, post-game.
Character development lacks depth. The upgrade system is barebones.
Mission variety is almost non-existent – you get Expeditions, Hunts, and a few open-zones with random events, and that’s about it.
Endgame? Barely there. Just Mythic Hunts over and over.
Optimization is inconsistent – early zones run well, but performance takes a serious hit in later content, especially in Crucible Expeditions with the Overgrowth mutator active.
Tons of visual bugs – floating bushes, hovering rocks, broken collision.
Lots of odd design choices – like two identical crates right next to each other, but only one is breakable.
Movement and combat animations aren’t polished. Dashing toward small drops often results in awkward collisions, and you can’t hit enemies slightly below you on stairs or ledges.
Some mechanics feel like afterthoughts – Housing system feels irrelevant for solo players or grappling hook, for example, is introduced only in The Crucible and is used exclusively within that zone, with no relevance elsewhere.
Final Thoughts: If you’re just looking for a solo-friendly grindfest with gorgeous visuals and satisfying combat, Wayfinder is worth trying – especially if you can get it on sale. But if you're expecting a fully fleshed-out RPG with rich storylines, deep character building, and a compelling endgame, you’ll likely be disappointed.

This game has unfortunately had a very rocky lifespan so far which has clearly massively hurt its development In its current state, I cannot in good faith recommend it: It's unfinished and unoptimized. I really wanted to give this game a good go but every time I think about playing it, the thought quickly leaves my brain. It feels quite unrewarding to play as of right now, the loot system feels lackluster in the early/mid game and the quests leave much to be desired. It's kinda hard to want to engage with a game that feels incredibly repetitive right from the get go. All to say, for £20 it's a bit of a hard sell but it's not the worst way to spend that amount of money. Things have seemingly been silent for a fair few months now and the only main updates we've had haven't done much to make the game feel more engaging to play for the large bulk of the game. I just hope that the devs haven't just given up on this project after fighting to maintain it despite being dropped by their publisher

I genuinely had a nice time playing Wayfinder, but with a major caveat. The journey through the world, the core combat, and the leveling process were all enjoyable and kept me engaged. The problem, however, begins once you reach the endgame. The gameplay loop quickly becomes repetitive and the grind feels tedious and unrewarding. It's a shame because the foundation of the game is solid, but it currently lacks more interesting and compelling content to keep players invested for the long term. Overall, it's a game with a lot of potential. I enjoyed my time, but I hope the developers introduce something more engaging for high-level players soon.

Played for around 100h back when it was an MMO — had a great time. Then they hard-reset everything and turned it into a single-player/co-op experience (It hurt, but I understand — the game just wasn’t sustainable as a live service MMO.). I grinded everything all over again, and eventually reached the point in the story where the original hard reset had happened. Kept going from there and finally finished the game after 200h. The last area of the game was definitely my favorite, but each one had its own charm. It really made the whole second run feel worth it. Most of the time, it was fun and really satisfying. I’d recommend it if you're looking for a colorful, unique, and not-too-deep universe. The combat is VERY satisfying, and the progression system is kinda grindy — it can get overwhelming quickly if you don’t know where this game comes from (ahem Warframe ahem). If you’re into great and diverse combat, a beautiful universe, and don’t mind some grind, I totally recommend it. Go for it!

Who this game is for: - People who are looking for a relaxed single-player MMO-style game. - People looking for a loot-driven grindy experience. - People who are familiar with the basic game loop of WoW, Diablo or Destiny. Who this game is NOT for: - People who can't stomach repetition. If you don't like the idea of grinding dungeons for better loot to make your character stronger, you probably won't enjoy this. PROS: - Consumer-first approach to monetization. You won't find any predatory practices here. - Solid combat system. Not the most in-depth, but is fun. - Satisfying power fantasy. You begin having to actually engage in combat mechanics, but as you develop your build it devolves to mindless ability spam and abusing i-frames. - Price point. I picked this up on sale for ~$10. CONS: - Tutorial doesn't do much to prepare you for what the game is really about. I could see this giving a rough first impression. - Repetitive dungeon layout. For a game about repeatedly grinding dungeons, it doesn't do much to differentiate runs. - Inventory management. A common issue in this genre, clearing space is inconvenient. - Under-baked endgame. Once you complete the main story quest-line, there is not much to do other than grind mythic hunts. Final Thoughts: While there is a nice roster of heroes to choose from, I played the game solo crutching on only one of them. There was never a situation where I felt I would need to switch heroes. I am thankful the achievements were easy to get, as I might not have stuck with it as long as I did to get 100%. Overall I don't think the game deserves the negative reviews. It delivers what it needs to while being fair and honest.
