The political messaging is ridiculous. There are plenty of crimes that need a 'bad room', must be a very privileged individual that can grow up and think the whole world and everyone in it is great and can be rehabilitated.
Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County
As far as I understand that is the final chapter of the Frog Detective trilogy. Coincidentally that game left me with the most mixed feelings out of the three. Undoubtedly, this game has improved the colour scheme, the music and the gameplay itself, which is great. If those were the only things changed, I would rate this game the highest in the trilogy, but alas. Let’s start from the beginning. The game still has those absurd, funny and at times witty dialogues and unique characters. The style is still recognizable and enhanced with richer colours and tones. The investigation part of the game is the most sophisticated out of all three games. Moreover, they added a scooter for you to ride! Here the bright part ends and sadly starts the political part. As I mentioned in the two previous reviews of the Frog Detective 1 and 2 there were some subtle modern agenda mixed into certain dialogues, but here it reached its peak. SPOILER ALERT!
Out of the blue, one of the male NPCs starts not just flirting but basically verbally sexually harassing our protagonist, Frog Detective, and Frog Detective appears to be a homosexual. Talking about a children-oriented family friendly game. Next is political messaging. The jail here is called a “bad room”, and numerous NPCs comment on how inhumane and pointless it is to send a criminal to the “bad room”, since it will not reform them. The other social commentaries include mentioning of the so-called “conspiracy theorists” who believe all sorts of nonsense. This implies that if you consider yourself a reasonable person you should just kick back and “trust the experts™”. Oh, and in the end during the credits roll, the author inserted a “land acknowledgement” statement, about how the American land, was basically “stolen” or “appropriated”, or whatever.
Things like that prevented me of fully enjoying the story and narrative, and left unpleasant aftertaste. Given all this, I give this game 6,25/10. Even though normally I recommend any game, that is 6/10 and above, here I have to pass. Do not buy, unless you want another dose of bias and lecturing in your little escapist adventure.

This whole series was very interactive (obviously), funny, and really well thought out. I'd totally recommend it fr any point-and-click games fan.

This game is so good, it initially doesn't seem as good as the other two frog detective games, but stay with the game and you'll be glad you saw the ending. My life has been changed. Probably a 10/10 for story.

I did not expect to love the Frog Detective series as much as I did. As a funny little adventure game starring a hatless Frog Detective, it really ends up having a lot of heart and mystery behind it in it's final installment. As it not only wraps up the whole trilogy in a lovely bow, but also makes a lot of great callbacks to the previous games. So while the game itself is far better in terms of it's mystery, scale, and humor; ultimately it's a game meant to be played at the end in order to fully enjoy it. Course when I say this should be played at the end, I mean it both as a game stand point and plot progression. Seriously, among the entries in this series, Frog Detective 3 really stepped up what the first two been up to with a bigger map, wider cast of characters, and multiple areas to explore. It's kinda funny to compare the first games environment with this one as it's far bigger than before, and with a lot more to do with it. By all means the game is not robust compared to most indie games, but for a silly little game like this, it was quite a wonderful thing to explore. I really can't express enough how they give you so many new tools and places to go off to that it really felt like I was a kid again just exploring because I could while still keeping me as engaged as the adult I try to be. Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County is an impressive game that does well to cement the Frog Detective series as the beloved silly game that it is. By both being a great pay off to the series, and being the most impressive game of it so far. With two different mysteries, a runtime roughly twice the size of it's previous games, and consistent cast of great new characters this game is a no brainer for Frog Detective likers. While I can't say it's worth checking out if you never liked the series till now; ultimately it's up to you to embrace silly mode to truly enjoy this series and it's great ending.

Very short and simple point and click game that was ok I guess. The first two games were funnier. It's easy to 100% and stuff. 7/10

Started the game thinking it would just be a cute cozy cowboy mystery with low stakes, and it IS a cute cozy cowboy mystery with low stakes, but it's also remarkably funny, innovative, and has much more to say than meets the eye. For an investigation procedural game to also take an anti-carceral, prison abolitionist stance that works perfectly with the tone of the game is pretty incredible. Also I like zooming around on a scooter.
