Using a boomerange to teleport yourself around combat arenas is a very cool concept, and Boomerang X executes that gameplay style very well - giving you fairly good control to retrieve the boomerang and teleport to it as well as a couple other abilities use in combat puzzles. Some enemies you attack head to head, while others may require you to reposition around them to hit their weakpoint, or destroy their additional allies before they can be damaged. Some rooms may mostly be a pit with a few standing platforms, or have the bottom of the floor swarming with enemies while the bigger enemy has a large area affect attack. Using a singular weapon forces you to be accurate, lead your shots and move around quickly to avoid damage But I think ultimately, I don't like Boomerang X.... or well, that is inaccurate. I do like this game, but i don't like the combat loop of constantly looking around, ziping around the combat arena, missing shots and repositioning. just to miss and repeat the process over and over again. This is the point where a fan of the game will say "git gud" and yes, that is true, you need to be good at Boomerang X to enjoy it. But that is just it, you're not good at the game for any reason, or maybe are good, but don't enjoy what it requires out of you, then you won't enjoy Boomerange X, no matter how good the fan thinks this game is. There is definitely a caliber of player that will love this, and I thought I would be as a fan of arena shooters and fast paced first person games, but it took multiple sessions of me playing it before I realized I didn't love the gameplay loop despite wanting to finish this relatively short game from my backlog. My point is to say that Boomerang X will appeal to a certain type of speedrunner and/or mechanics based gamer enjoyer, but others may find this mentally draining and in the worst case scenario, physically sickening or vertigo inducing. If the demo appeals to you, then I say get it, but if you're less in love with it then get at a discount or maybe not at all.

Feels great to just keep unlocking cool abilities and move quickly through enemies - sort of a Superhot vibe to this.

Very satisfying and intense first-person boomeranger, pretty short though, that's why I'll recommend to grab it while on sale rather than at full cost

Do you find modern games to slow? Do you want a game that throws you right into it with a quickly growing toolkit of abilities that you have to master even quicker? Then this is the game for you, because it does all of that in the best way possible
