This game feels like my attempt at modding Skyrim. I wish there was a workshop because a lot of what this game is missing could easily be fixed with mods – not by me, but by people who know what they're doing. Things that could be improved: UI and Quality-of-Life Improvements There’s too much unnecessary running around. For example, you should be able to switch to building mode with a button press instead of having to walk to a specific table. Storage and Building System It’s inconsistent—sometimes you need to have items in your inventory, other times they can just be in storage. Weird Respawning System Camps refill themselves with the exact same enemies, which feels repetitive. Inconsistent Autosave The autosave system feels unreliable and inconsistent. Unfinished Scripted Events Some scripted events seem like great ideas but weren’t fully developed, as if the devs ran out of time. Speaking of time, I really like what I see, and I can feel the inspiration behind the game—it’s fun. But it’s clear that the developer wasn’t able to fully realize their vision. I bet if the game had a workshop, it would build a dedicated fanbase, stay relevant for much longer, and sell well even without an 80% discount.

Good adaptation of the Legend. Good RPG bones and systems. Unique location designs throughout! It was on the 3rd mine I explored when I realized: every similar location in the game is custom designed! The mines are all custom built. The small enemy camps, custom. Your personal safe house campsites, custom. What an incredible amount of work must have gone into level and set designs for this. I have yet to tell if there is a set piece reused anywhere. It all looks like custom work. Amazing! To "Robinhood purists": 1) this is Inspired by the Legend, then adapted into what works for a game. And a new telling of a fictional Legend. They are allowed creative license to do that. 2) The Legend of Robinhood is a legend, it's not a true historical tale where your claims of "accuracy" are even appropriate. 3) The one apparent historical flaw in this is also based on an assumption. Could be that the one guy from history referenced here, isn't where you think he is(was). [no spoiler but you can figure it out from community comments] Yes you need to grind some materials on occassion. Say, more deer meat to feed your Merry Men villagers. UH-gain. I made a PR minigame out of it. I go to the west of home base where there is a small lake with deer spawns near it. I set up between the lake and the edge of map boundary... you'll find the spot. And the deer run through at high speeds. left right, from behind, from the front. Some jink off at an angle, some stop dead in their tracks, and others run right into you. So you take your lowest cost to repair bow, make 200 wooden arrows, and grind out some XP and fill your inv with meat and hides. The minigame is to see how fast you can get 100 meat and how few arrows to do that. It's awesome! Try to beat your best time. Then head home, buy 100 salt, cook that up put 1 or 2 stacks in the warehouse and sell the rest for a major stack of coins! Yeah, you gotta do this every couple days when you want to build a new vendor in your forest village. Or a fresh set of armor that you unlocked or need to get thru a still harder area... But if you fully staff your resource gather huts in the forest you can sell off their products and likely not have to do this as often very soon. That's progress. The village will soon self-support so you can go explore the map and fight harder and harder enemies. And that's a great RPG design. Fits the Legend and its setting. Heard someone say this is like Assassins Creed set in Sherwood Forest. Maybe so. Not quite the spiderman-like mobility in this, tho. I'm loving it, and I'm not 100% on even the 1st area of the 4 yet. See you in the Forest, Merry Men!

The game doesn't play like a finished game, it's quite janky. Story seems ok but the gameplay loop and fundamental design is dull.

Mixture of crappy mechanics, one of them is so familiar from the 'bad known' Arcania when enemy leaves its guarding area, gets immune to any damage and runs back. Color palette is just disgusting like if you were put in green poisonous fog or what you have in Midlands especially on the Gisborne mission: you won't see aiming crosshair or that guy but solid urine evaporation. While settlement development and crafting look nice, the story isn't that great, just limited number of story scenes, bunch of simple side quests and no-quest grind. And whole that time your 'cheerful company' stands still afk, not giving a single word of appreciation for finished goals

TLDR: Game is not finished product. 3rd person camera might be the worst ever, definitely in the top 5 worst. Gets stuck, changes position as trees, buildings and everything else gets in the way. Combat has no depth or difficulty. Use best sword and spam basic L click attack and win. Movement just feels mushy, you don't run straight, no climbing. Graphics are blurry and looks like an alpha state.

I enjoyed this, despite the minor flaws here and there, up to the point where I fought Guy. The game's flaws take centre stage there and the fight encounter, together with the instant death mechanic becomes downright atrocious. I'm putting this game aside and I think I'll just watch the endgame on YouTube or something.

good game enjoyed it, bit scuffed mechanics for some things, would appreciate a check list for players who want to 100% as sometimes hard to keep track or miss certain events & hidden missions. overall worth the money though i would say

just randomly crashes. also, doesn't give you any credit if you make something early, like the bow at the beginning of the game. i had to start over because i made it before i gathered enough pine. that broke the game. restarted it, then went and did it in order and the game just crashes. i really wanted to like it.

TL;DR, Are you having fun with the medieval-survival'ish-Robin Hood theme? Buy it. It kept me entertained for 45 hours. If you're less into the theme, wait for a discount. If at all It's okay. It's solid. If you like the setting (Robin Hood - medieval - open world with slight survival elements) you can certainly have fun. The main story is solid, but no real surprise. I mean, you're playing Robin Hood, come on. The sidequests are questionable, to put it politely. Sure, it's about helping the population, but some of them are just stupidly written. Speaking of writing. The German translation is atrocious... I mean, completely irrelevant to non-Germans, sure, but if you're clearly using A.I. for voice acting (which I'm not against), why can't you use A.I. for halfway meaningful translations? Some just don't make any sense at all and someone who really doesn't speak English or only very poorly will sometimes be confused. But for the fact that it's apparently the developer's first game and that you're NORMALLY only used to see strange simulators from the publisher PlayWay, it's a good game. I also like the graphic style they used for some of the cutscenes, although I can't understand the excessive shaking... It's like being on a fishing trawler on the North Sea in a storm. I would also like to add that the game ran mostly lag-free and without problems for me. Once in 45 hours it crashed and once... The main menu behaved VERY strangely https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3418227276 Only in the Midlands area were there strange FPS drops below 60.

After 10 hours of playing the game I must say I am definitely enjoying myself. I can see this being a 40 hour game for me at least. I found this game after watching 2 YouTube videos from PartiallyRoyal, so glad he took the time to expand the audience for this. I can't help but wonder how such a good game could have less than 1k people after a year. About the only criticism I have so far is the mining and woodcutting is a bit clunky.
