As a fan of Greek mytho as a child, this game hit spots that I never would have expected for it to hit lore wise. The game is extremely polished and fun, almost every boon is usable and powerful of course some compliment your setup better than others but its a learning experience and very much in the theme of try, fail and try again. 10/10 would recommend.

as if i need to write anything to add to the overwhelmingly positive score. But just to mention I've never wanted to buy a rogue-like because I hate dying. I hate losing all progress. However I thought this was another Diablo clone, which I love, and so I picked it up. At first I was like "oh shit it's one of those games" But after playing for a bit and realizing that death isn't so bad and you get to keep your character progress I figured I'd give it a chance. Glad I did. It's really fun and it has me saying. "Ok just one more run" One great feature about the game is that you can stop wherever you are, provided you cleared the room, and continue at a later time.

I don't regret a single second I spent here—if anything, I regret not playing it sooner. This is hands down the best game I've ever played. Do yourself a favor: stop whatever you're doing, cancel your plans, and play this game. You won’t be sorry (unless you hate fun, then maybe you will be).
FEAR IS FOR THE WEAK!
Truly awesome game. Not much can be added to what has already been said, but I had put off playing Hades for some reason until I just decided to take the plunge. The game doesn't disappoint. You can tell it is crafted with great care and attention; the variety of moves for build diversity, the range of dialogue and compelling story in general. After 77 hours I have "completed" the game. That is to say that I've seen all the main story beats and got all the achievements. There is still plenty of replayability if I wish to get all collectables, or try to optimise the runs for increasing difficulty, and depending on your speed/skill your mileage may vary. With that said, I will probably come back to play more of this game and I definitely recommend this game.

Very fun hack and slash game. Its rogue-lite so you have to start from the beginning every time you die but the more you play the more you know. It was not boring at all!!! This is because it has a story which is very interesting and is given to you in bits and pieces as you continue. Every time you get a buff or a perk there is a cool line from a character speaking to you. Also each encounter is not always the same. Sometimes you get a different boss or another character shows up to talk to you, you've never seen before. Never is a run anything like the last one. Weapons to choose from are plenty, but we all know the spear is the best. Anyway I recommend it, genuinely. Even the art is cool.
Blessed Roguelike, Darren Korb I Love You!!
Hades is a video-game blessed by the Olympian Gods themselves. It’s as if the creators at Supergiant Games tasted Ambrosia and were enlightened to deliver a masterpiece for which all praises fall short. I initially played this game to understand the backstory of Hades II, who Melinoë’s brother really was, what transpired in the first Hades, and how our Commander Schelemeus came to be. But once I started playing, I COULDN’T STOP. It engulfed me completely, much like the River Styx engulfs Zagreus every time he gives it his all. I was in the so-called flow state, utterly consumed by its brilliance. This game even saved my sanity during a boring and stressful time when I was shifting to another city. Between sessions of hard work, all my weary mind could think of was HADES and, of course, the best goddess, Artemis, who can hunt me all she wants. She’s just that sweet of a goddess. And she only gets better in Hades II, where she gets to do more of her stuff. The creators clearly know who the majority’s favorite goddess is.
Voice-Acting, Artstyle & The Soundtrack
This game features some of the best voice-acting you will ever hear in a video-game, period. Supergiant Games hires top-notch professionals, and it shows. The art is to die for, and the voice performances elevate the experience to divine levels. It's so good that people climax at these voices. Just search up people's reaction to this game. The voice acting in Hades is nothing short of divine. Darren Korb’s Zagreus is sharp and witty, Logan Cunningham’s Hades is commanding and iconic, and Melissa Kaplan’s Artemis is soothingly endearing. From Courtney Vineys’ fierce Megaera to Ava Preston’s bubbly Dusa, every actor brings their character to life with depth and personality. The ensemble cast, including Sarah Elmaleh (Persephone), Ashly Burch (Athena), and JB Blanc (Charon), delivers performances that are as memorable as they are immersive, making the Underworld feel alive. The voice of our rebellious prince, Darren Korb not only voiced Zagreus but also composed the game’s phenomenal soundtrack which has been on repeat on my Spotify and he's also the voice-casting director. Just how more talented can a man get? I JUST LOVE THIS MAN!!
Combat & Weapons
One of the weapons in this masterpiece has the Aspect of Rama! (Jai Shree Ram!). You can't tell how ecstatic I felt when I unlocked that aspect even though I hated the bow so much. Each of the six Infernal Arms in Hades offers a unique playstyle, from the balanced Stygian Blade to the rapid-fire Adamant Rail. The Aspects, like Arthur’s Excalibur or Rama’s chaining bow, add layers of strategy and customization. Whether you’re spinning Varatha’s spear, blocking with Aegis’ shield, or pummeling foes with Malphon’s fists, every weapon feels powerful and satisfying, especially when combined with Olympian Boons. The Hidden Aspects, like Guan Yu’s life-stealing scythe or Lucifer’s beam weapon, are game-changers that keep the combat fresh and exciting. It took me good amount of time to unlock all these aspects! All these elements just gets better in HADES II. Money well spent!
Hades | Perfect Game Review
(100% Completion at 72 Hours)

I picked up Hades because fans of the rogue-lite subgenre wouldn’t shut up about how top-tier it is. Now I’m one of them, raving about this brilliant escape simulator where dying is just part of the journey. Plus, I’ve always been a sucker for Greek mythology, so this game was basically irresistible. Gameplay: With many weapons, keepsakes, and boons offering diverse playstyles and synergies, you could be dashing through enemies with twin fists one playthrough, and desperately kiting a room with an automatic rifle the next. No matter how your run plays out, this highly satisfying, fast-paced rogue-lite will pull you back for more. ★★★★★ Graphics: The game presents a visual feast worthy of the gods. From the molten glow of Asphodel to the scenic paradise of Elysium, every detail bursts with colour and personality. And let’s be real—everyone in this game is unfairly attractive (even Skelly, somehow). ★★★★★ Sound: The music in Hades contains a variety of blood-pumping battle themes and soothing melodies, and the voice acting is equally stellar, bringing every character to life with charm and personality. That said, in a fast-paced rogue-lite, there comes a point where you might start mashing through paragraphs of dialogue just to get back to the action. ★★★★☆ Story: The witty, character-driven storytelling in Hades keeps things engaging, and watching Zagreus’ many relationships evolve is just as fun as battling through the Underworld. However, the narrative doesn’t quite reach the level of high-stakes drama or thought-provoking themes found in other story-driven games. ★★★★☆ Replayability: Just like any decent rogue-lite game, replayability in Hades is near-infinite. Between various builds, difficulty modifiers, and side quests, the game makes sure there’s always something new to try. ★★★★★ Final Thoughts: If you’re like me and obsessed with Greek mythology, Hades is a must-play as it brings the gods to life with stellar voice acting and gorgeous visuals. Whether you’re tearing through enemies with an absurd build or getting roasted by Hades (the god of the dead) for the hundredth time, Hades (the game) is a hellishly addictive experience you won’t want to put down.
Overall Rating: 9/10, would defy the god of the dead and then die again, and again, and again…
