Edit: Unfortunately, the devs have more or less given up on fixing and patching it. I encountered a game breaking bug at the final boss that prevented me from finishing the game and it's been years and nothing. It's kind of a cool game but also kind of a flop too.
Skeleton Crew is fun, cute and has good energy. My only gripe is that I know I'm going to want more of it when I'm done!
But seriously, this is an awesome couch co-op game (be warned, though, that online co-op is still under construction).

The combat is horribly slow and sluggish. A huge part of it revolves around picking junk up and throwing it at your enemies, which is not fun and clutters the screen. The moon jumping is terrible. And honestly the art style is just a huge miss.

the game is fun and great with some challenge. However the Hooded Carrion bug needs to be fixed as it can't take damaged since the head won't regrow

Great coop game. Wish there were DLC's or new levels introduced, since replaying same levels with new characters is not for everyone. It still has a lot of potential.

Really enjoying playing this locally with my wife, the different characters add fun variety and there are lots of wonderful little jokes that you should find for yourself.

It's a sidescrolling puzzle platformer with a ton of replayability at a very justifiable price. It's absolute chaotic mayhem (the good kind) especially in co op, and the boss battles require minor strategy instead of just button mashing. The potential to unlock up to 12 characters really makes u look forward to redoing levels as certain characters have Terrain abilities that lets you bypass obstacles designed for them. From the negative reviews, there's still a few minor bugs for the devs to iron out but I don't think it warrants the whole game a low score.
I'd love if the tutorial was somehow doable in co op as having my partner wait for 15 mins for him to be able to join was kinda awkward, but the main game after that has been scratching our co op itch really well. Definitely worth trying out if you want a fun gaming sesh with friends!

Personally wasn't a fan. Movement is extremely floaty and inputs feel delayed. Kicking is fun, but combat is a bit shallow and too chaotic at times to really tell whats going on. You only unlock two characters at the start, so when I played local co-op with my friends, we had to pick duplicate characters instead of each having something unique to play. Also, certain areas are locked unless you have a specific character and we ran into a LOT of these roadblocks, which really soured any desire to explore. I thought this would make a neat little party game but it seems to have a certain level of depth that make it a poor choice for silly fun (currency, various shops, buying upgrades, numerous sidequests, heavy story elements, etc).

Coop was barely working. It was dedicated hosting and the lag made it unplayable
The gameplay is the opposite of fluid. Imagine if you were a flash game developer from 2001 and you magically teleported into 2022. This is the game you would get.
Every button press takes like half a second to execute. Attacks are slow and generally clumsy. There are many mechanics like spikes and fire in the game that are poorly implemented. Spikes are difficult to spot, fire and poison are just straight up not fun and often buggy.
The character movement is sluggish, jumping feels slow and unresponsive.
The idea is on paper a good one but the execution is just really poor except for maybe the audio and some UI parts. Character model animation is very poor and flash/mobile game like. Some hotkey indicators are giant and others are tiny. Managing inventory is a nightmare

Great game so far at a very fair price! This sidescroller packs a real kick. If you are wondering, Skeleton Crew competes with the greats such as Castle Crashers and Rampage Knights but manages to stake its own artistic style, approach to puzzles and unique boss fights that really make you use your items and environments in a more tactical and timely way. With fluid combat controls (on controller), playful comedy, and a ton of unlockables, this game formed quite a solid base to build off of. The soundtrack, dialogue and SFX are very satisfying alongside the smooth running game. The maps are incredibly varied both in setting and scenic events from zone to zone. Enemies are tough and bosses are brutal but rewarding when defeated. The game's story keeps the player pushing forward and the multiple 'character unlocks' will keep your returning to old levels to uncover even more missed content, similar to Gauntlet Dark Legacy. There is a great deal of replay-ability here and I hope they add remote play or polish up their online play to ensure a great future of long term players.

Scouting this game for a group of friends to play together, and I'm half an hour in. Cleared the tutorial, seems like it could work out, but when I saw that the online play in the lobby says "beta" I got a little concerned, and trying it out asks me to login to an Epic account, which then tells me that application access is restricted because I do not have access to use this application, I feel a little misled.
Seems like it could be fun, but for me it's meant to be a multi-player experience.
Edit: I see the (Beta) tag in the store page now, but no mention of the other constraints.
Edit2: [Thanks for the quick response, Charis.]
Another issue with multiplayer. Had the dialog open, controller disconnected, and upon re-connection, the splash from the modal menu (you know, the darkened overlay) remained persistent. I was unable to re-open the multiplayer menu (circle spun, but no action), and the overlay was only removed upon restarting the level from the keep. However even after restarting the level, the multiplayer menu would not open for me.
Restarting the game as a whole seems to have fixed the issue, but I've yet to see any public worlds hosted so I haven't been able to test this functionality further, nor verify that multiplayer works under any conditions. That's not to say it doesn't, but this comprises my experience.
