I got this for 79 cents, and wasn't expecting much, but it's actually quite fun. It is not perfect, but it has the "one more level" appeal to it. You can select which level to play and the goal is just to reach the door to get to the next level. A secondary goal is to get all 3 gems before using the door. OCD prevents me from going to the next level without getting all 3 gems, but you can if you want, and redo the level later. So far, digging has been only a minor part of the game. It's really more about figuring out how to get the 3 gems and make it to the exit. This sometimes involves digging a few blocks to make a path. There is often no digging at all on a level. Sometimes there is a potion that has certain effects, like reversing your controls, or making you invisible. Sometimes these can be avoided, other times you must walk over them and live with the effects. I think these are mostly pointless, especially the control reversing one. Since the potions wear off after 30 seconds or so, they amount to nothing more than a potion that makes you stand there and wait until they wear off. Not all potion effects are negative. As I said, it's not perfect. It occasionally seems like it doesn't jump when I tell it to. This could be my fault as I can't seem to duplicate it. It just happens sometimes where I feel as though I hit jump but I fell instead. There is also this weird jerking of the view of the level. It's hard to explain and it's not really a bug, it's just the way the camera is working. There are places where you take one step and the camera re-centers about 1/3rd of a screen away. It can be jarring and make you instinctively take a step back the other way, which makes it jerk back to where it was. It is not a major problem. Overall, it's certainly worth 79 cents, and I'd have no problem paying the full $2 for it either.
