Mask of Sanity Reviews
My name is Tom Bailey. It all began with an investigation into the murder of a physician in a local asylum St. Verginy, which was coated with strange rumors.

Looks like old game "Condemned". Not Bad, but add more puzzles!

Pretty solid indie horror/thriller experience aside from occasional lighting glitches and performance drops.

Not bad for the first project.
Game keeps you warned and sometimes scares you. Puzzles aren't simple, but possible to solve. Ammo is on scarce, but melee isn't hard to adapt. You're even able to fight your way with shovel and axe.
Definitely worth to try.

The game seemed to me interesting in terms of gameplay and plot. No boring puzzles that you come across in other games. I advise you to purchase!!!

Storyline doesn't looks like completed, so I'll wait for more cutscenes even if it would be in another game.
Game scares me when enemies are shows suddenly. From gameplay perspective combat system is odd, but allows to maneuver. Or you can use pistol to deal with emeny.
There are random loot in the destroyable boxes, so one time you can get full heal, but the other - just an apple. This poses a challenge that makes each play slightly different from time to time.

Played on Linux using Proton, Another very poor Unity Game, Other then it runs and has good FPS that's all i can say good about this Game.
Graphics Not Great, Sound really bad, Gun play bad, head shots only (when they register) and good luck finding Ammo as game relays more on melee combat and your weapon is a spade/shovel, again baddies will hit you more than you hit them because shovel hits register sometimes, and again you need to be aiming for the head, and baddies come in 3 sizes, short/normal/tall.
Bought on sale as 2 Pack Bundle from UNICore Games, The other Game is slightly better as it's Guns only.

Absolutly terrible survival horror game, in fact propably the worst I have ever played. And I just played "Crying is not Enough".
Don't let you fool you by the good looking screenshots. Some of them aren't from the game, and the other good ones are mostly from the first level which does look all right and also plays well. At this point I thought that the game isn't that bad at all. Well, it gets worse with every other level. Not only are the levels getting uglier and emptier, but the gameplay gets much worse. Because for some reason the game wants you to mostly use melee in level 2 and the following levels because you simply dont get enough ammo. Well, let me tell you melee sucks really hard. Enemies are too fast, you can't avoid getting hit and enemy hitboxes are terrible. You often don't hit them when you should have while they always hit you.
In Level 2-4 that isn't too bad if you get to know the levels and dont waste your ressources.
Lets talk about ressources. Some of them you can find just lying around. The problem there is that there are often so hard to spot. And then you can find item boxes which you can destroy to get a completly random item. Well, the issue is you can get a health kit which completly restores your health to 100 or (the other extreme) an apple which only restores 5 hp or ofc items in between, or you could find ammo which is always super scare or you can find nothing... Yeah great, and that happens way too often.
It`s also worth mentioning that there are just 3 weapons in the game: a pistol, a shovel (wtf ?) and an axe which you can find pretty late in the game but the thing is: I don't think the 2 melee weapons differ at all. So, in reality there are just 2 weapons, just one of them is a gun. But again, cause ammo is scare, you often have to use the melee weapon and enjoy the terrible enemy hitboxes. It's also worth mentioning a weird bug which occurs like 75% of the time when you relaod while having 3 bullets in your magazine with 4 bullets left in your inventory. For some reason you then get 4 free bullets. But as that doesn't happen all the time, I didn't use that and instead collected everything I could.
Then you also have a flashlight. The problem is you can't hold the flashlight and a weapon at the same time and the game is very often pretty dark which means you either take the flashlight so see better but then you are unarmed and chaning weapons takes like forever or you walk around with a weapon but then can barely see anything.
Lets talk about level 4. Well this one has a unique bug: when you die in that level, you respawn with no item left in your inventory including your weapons... And you can't find multiple of items which means, gg and you actually have to replay the whole game again. I had to replay the game for that like 3 times. Well because level 4 is by the longest one. But when you know where to go and take care its not that hard, well, except maybe at one area where 3 enemies lie on the ground and surprise you when you are near them. There I died once. But for next time I was prepared, took a few bullets, but not a big deal. But then I was stuck a long time in this level because a keypad didn't function and apparently I had to turn on electricity for it but the game didn't tell me that and I thought it was a bug. I didn't found the solution and quit the game. Well, when I wanted to retry, I couldn't reload my save. Because not only there is the level 4 bug I mentionered earlier but also you can't load into level 4 from the menu... which means new game again.
Then I finally reached level 5. And this one is terrible because for some reason enemies suddenly have WAY more health now but you don't really have enough ressources to kill them, and the game now send you way more often 2 or 3 enemies at the same time. That was already an issue before where you kill enemies with 1-2 headshots or usually with 1-4 melee hits. Now they can take like a whole magazine of 7 shots or like 30 melee hits (not joking). So basically at this point the game lost all balance. i died so many times in that level. Then I ended up somehow near the end of the level and then seeing way too many enemies I just ran past them. Then the last level is even worse than the previous with even more enemies. I instantly knew I couldn't kill them, so I ran through the whole level. The end.
Just some numbers, the game could be played through in like an half an hour, but it took me almost 5 hours because of the bug in level 4 and dying in the last 2 levels.
Great game.
-999 / 10.

By looking at the trailer I was hoping that this game would bea nice and polished horror experience: sad to say it isn't.
Ambience is ok, nothing spectacular, pretty basic environment;
Sound effects are ok i guess but it really doesn't matter cause you can't turn the music off.
Enemies are pretty predictable and boring, plus i think they only have two models so it gets pretty old pretty fast;
Storytelling is where all the real problems are: you find pieces of paper scattered around that vaguely tell you a story but it's really hard to picture the context of the game. That makes the whole experience very frustrating, result that could've been avoided by adding a couple of cutscenes.

After playing the game for 2 hours there is no way to save to game to be able to pick up where you left off... as well at a certain spot after you are killed, you lose all of your inventory items and playing blindly without anything to defend yourself and the items that you have collected previously.
Overall a good game but would like to be able to play where i left off if i want to turn it off and be able to keep the inventory collected.
