Jefuty is close enough to Hibiki. 3hr VN scene? Sure why not. Watched it, it went by so quickly.

Quantity over quality If I had to give it rating, it'd be 6/10, so you can consider it recommended to a point The good: Gameplay -> There are lots of tools to use, strategic approaches to missions, different enemy types, different mission types, skills etc. It's actually impressive how good gameplay is. Story* -> It comes with asterisk because it's good if you're new to Anime/VNs/JRPGs. The bad: Story* -> If you're familiar with JRPGs/VNs/Anime, it's every cliche mashed into one package. Dialogue -> Spoiler warning, I will now spoil main male character dialogue extensively: "Jefuty. Jefuty? Jefuty?! JEFUTY! JEFUTY!!!" I am sorry for spoiling the game dialogue. The horrible: Maps -> This is the reason where I dropped the game. Every single map takes hours to finish. Enemy will start with 100 enemies, then they'll get 100 more as reinforcements after few turns. Probably 100 more at some point while you're near the end of mission. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, sometimes enemy reinforcements will spawn at very start of the map, and in next 20 turns they will get nowhere close to where your characters are. But they'll spawn anyway and you can be damn sure they'll take a minute of real time to all complete their move. I was, LITERALLY, browsing and reading reddit threads while waiting for enemy turns to finish. A lot of reinforcements spawn in positions where they'll never be a factor, but they spawn and add to turn times. There's a "quick speed" for enemy moves which does help, but even with that you're looking at full real-time minute (or more) for all enemies to finish their move. Further to map length, most maps introduce some new mechanic (mostly very relevant for that map, somewhat for later), and then forces you to do it over and over and over and over and over and over again. That's where hundreds of enemies come into play. You got your new mechanic/tool/skill, now use it 50x on this map. According to achievements, only less than 30% players finished Act 2. Not surprising, since Act 2 also has biggest difficulty spike in the game. And by difficulty spike I mean 1 enemy -> boss fight. I was cruising through game up to that point, then that fight comes and I reloaded 20-30x before finishing. It's out of the blue, after an hour long map (or more), so you're short on resources, and like nothing you've encountered before. It's a fight that doesn't feel hard because it's hard, but hard because it's cheap. It's a "gotcha" moment, like playing chess with someone, but they stand up and punches you in the face all of a sudden since they'd rather box. You never knew it's boxing match. Play this if you've got lots of time and like strategic gameplay. Gameplay is genuinely amazing and I wish missions were shorter because all super long missions did is made me bored after a while. Difficulty (I played on Normal) mostly felt easy (I got S rank on all missions before dropping game, most on 1st try, very few reloads), and there's also grind option (on standard, not available on highest difficulty) if you want (not needed whatsoever).

Great game. When I first bought it, I thought it would be fun — but I couldn’t even get past the title screen due to a bug and ended up refunding it. Years later, I came back and bought it again after checking recent reviews. Once I actually got to play it, it turned out to be just as enjoyable as I expected. The game is clearly made with care. As a turn-based strategy game, it holds its own against more established titles in the genre. What sets it apart is the anime-style presentation, with excellent Japanese voice acting, beautifully crafted cutscenes, and animated portraits during conversations that move their lips in sync with the dialogue. The story is also intense and well-developed. Considering its price point, I’d say it offers the experience of a 700 baht game — totally worth it.

Absolute cinema. Plenty of mechanics, intriguing story, a good variety of missions and plot twists everywhere (literally in every mission). I haven't completed it yet (I'm still at chapter 4 out of 5), but I couldn't be happier about this game. I only wish there was a bit less stealth requirements overall, but the amount is bearable. Totally worth the price!

As a huge turn based fan. This game is awesome! Story is great, a plethora of upgrades and builds for your characters at your disposals. Tons of items allowing creativity in how you handle certain situations. The only complaint I have is sometimes the stealth missions can really bog down the pace. They either require near perfection or straight up save scumming, because if you get spotted you’re pretty much screwed. Now I don’t mind the stealth missions; I just wish there wasn’t so damn many of them.
Caveat!
tl;dr: A very niche but well-made game. If you're looking for (a) a puzzle game with a turn-based tactics flavor, and enjoy (b) adapting quickly to changing situations (think 'unexpected, same-turn reinforcements' in Fire Emblem) then you'll love this game. Otherwise, avoid.
Longer Review
I really, really wanted to like this game. I bought it on day 1, expecting it to resemble 'shooty' squad-level turn-based tactics/RPGs like Silent Storm or maybe Troubleshooter. Those games emphasize flexibility and solutions to foreseeable tactical problems. Through smart analysis, character customization, sound tactics and luck, you can have lots of fun beating maps. Not this game. This game will throw curveball after curveball at you. The experience is less like a tactics game than a puzzle game with tactical elements (sometimes).
30% of the levels are stealth levels
In those levels you will dodge enemy patrols and searchlights. Unfortunately, the levels rob you of most of your tactical options. Only one character has a useful stealth skill, which he unlocks fairly late. Most of your turns will be spent waiting & working out enemy patrol routes... which frequently change mid-map. Patrols will suddenly appear. Enemies will suddenly become suspicious (for no gameplay reason) & change their routes. A random tank will show up. None of the above changes are foreshadowed. This means that you will not be able to plan properly unless you restart levels or savescum. Later stealth levels add more and more systems to juggle to the point where I just wasn't having any fun.
Gimmicks
This game loves gimmicks. Every 2 levels or so, you're introduced to a new item or mechanic which you'll be expected to master to complete that level. And then... the mechanic doesn't recur, or the item is so niche (looking at you, hole-in-the-ice maker) that it feels pointless. And then one level near the end of the game will use it again and frustrate you. This also applies to bosses. Many of the bosses are (a) gimmick bosses, or (b) damage-sponges. Sometimes you'll get both in one multi-part level, and there's an infamously difficult one at the end of Chapter 2. I get the want to surprise players and (I guess?) simulate being like a guerrilla faced with impossible odds, but the bosses felt especially unfun to me.
Reinforcements!
There are really neat maps in the game, which have you exploiting enemy behavior to doom them or lead them into death-traps. These are few and far between. Most often, you will be served a map with many enemies which seems doable, but by turn 6 the game deploys those sudden reinforcements, and by turn 8 there are more reinforcements, and then by turn 10 the map becomes one big chaotic mess with lots of half-dead enemies running around and no real way to deal with them except for RNG-fu. Again, the maps start doable, but game-breaking reinforcements will ruin your fun. The last few maps of Chapter 4, for example, love suddenly spawning multiple high-level units in the middle of your formations... constantly.
Red queen's race
You know how in games like XCOM2 you can sometimes get a really strong soldier and have him solo maps and have it be really fun? This game lacks those moments. All the upgrades you get are rote and matched by the enemy, to the point that they're meaningless. Towards the end, even basic enemies will have ridiculous buffs (healing! ability-locking! guaranteed avoids!) that dealing with them singly becomes a chore, let alone a whole platoon of them. Seriously, before upgrades, a grenade will kill the most basic enemy & injure the one a step above that... after all upgrades, a grenade will kill the most basic enemy & injure the one a step above that. This goes back to the reinforcements problem. You will have to deal with platoons of enemies, and specialist troops, and damage-sponge bosses. You will have at most 6 (8 with proper ability use) people in your squad, with a very limited amount of actions-per-turn, no reliable counterattack mechanic (except with 1 character), and with very little in the way of tide-turning abilities. Towards the end I was relying on RNG and funky placement options because with the sheer number of troops, it was just very tedious to find that smart move. Which is a shame, since the art assets are gorgeous. The little unit sprites are really expressive and they've programmed all sorts of cute gestures. Jefuty is fine as a main character. There are cute bonding scenes. The story is alright. If you like anime war stories, you'll like this one, although it relies very heavily on an invincible antagonist towards the end. Also the dolls show up for two levels, tops. I've played the standard campaign to completion (Chapter 4) & I know there's another chapter but... this game had no catharsis for me, no point where it all suddenly turned fun. Too bad.

Quite possibly the sweatiest tactical rpg I've played to date. The game is hard and challenging, still haven't beaten the game even. The story is incredible too. I have no idea why its mostly positive when it definitely deserves more. Story Finished Review: PLAY IT PLAY IT RIGHT NOW

Absolute cinema. One of the best single player game I've ever played and the great music adds so much to the experience. Not for people who don't like a lot of reading, loads of trial and error and stealth missions.
