placeholder?--ish review in case i decide to actually re-live the trauma of 100%'ing this VN by writing about it in explicit detail by listing every scene that made me reach for the Unsee-Juice, because oh god there are so, so, many things to unpack... TL;DR - do not buy this game unless you have an EXTREMELY strong stomach and/or your sexual tastes are extremely violent, gross, and sadistic (there are plenty of bad ends where the heroines get raped to death, in one case by a SWORD, and these are far from the worst scenes). i'm far from a vanilla person and from the descriptions and screenshots (hello sexy spider lady, hello sexy magical girl lesbian protagonists etc etc) it seemed like a couple of the things in this game ticked my boxes (including, technically, some of the fetishes in it, even if only a few... that in execution left me feeling repulsed- there's a right way and a wrong way to do stuff, guys). i literally actually came away from finishing it (DEFINITELY no pun intended) feeling like taking a vow of celibacy. at least you now know what to get your friends for next No Nut November. also, the writing and dialogue is utter garbage. it might look like good writing compared to some other eroge, but that's *hardly* saying anything at all since i think i own dozens of adult games at this point and i can only think of ONE title where the sexual writing was actually extreme good quality (and that's COC2, which you can buy on Steam or download for free from the creator's website...and contains many of the fetishes present in this game, without being absolutely repulsive by *my* standards...also, unlike this VN, it's actually fun to play) pros: beautiful artwork, Mogudan designed some stuff, the best part of the game is honestly the scene where you see the magical world tree and the city uninhabited at night, and whoever drew the evil old priest guy has an eye for male character design (the same cannot be said of other human male characters)...the problem with people who know how to create beautiful artwork is that they also tend to know how to make something look utterly repulsive, which is *exactly* the intent behind most of the CGs and monster designs/adult scenarios (after all, this game explores extreme fetishes, and many fetishes are considered extreme because they contain some societally repulsive or immoral or sickening element that nevertheless is titillating to the one with the fetish. THE JAPANESE ARE NO STRANGERS TO THIS and this game is an all-you-can-eat-buffet-gross-out-fetish). sidenote: i'm not kinkshaming at any point in my review because trust me, there's a few reasons i bought this game, it would be hypocritical to do so. this game just went way beyond some of my boundaries, and i gotta draw the line *somewhere*. also, the game definitely shows its age, as there is extremely limited amount of CG including very limited character CG (so few changes even in facial expression exist, and scenes are constantly reused multiple times no matter whether they match the situation well or not) fwiw, the core idea of the plot is actually not bad in and of itself (two girls who secretly have repressed lesbian feelings of true love for each other get superpowers in exchange for developing uncontrollable lust that they have to repress in order to not get raped/raped to death/raped some more-- a trope it actually kinda shares with COC2) and so as that is a trope i actually really like in adult games, that was another reason i ended up getting it... but jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ at this point i'm beginning to think i play these games for the same reasons other people play horror games. i have a lot more to say about the details of why this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up but i'll leave it at that. if you have EXTREMELY ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up sexual tastes - and hey, as long as they remain in the realm of fantasy, i'm not one to judge, especially since i doubt you will suddenly turn into a magical rapedemon and start raping women to death with your tentacles IRL after playing-- then go ahead i guess this might be for you. like i said, i'm far from vanilla/straight-laced myself, and by the time i'd finished getting 100% achievements (i figured why not...sigh) i was feeling both physically sick, considering abstinence, and also honestly? EXTREMELY bored (like is said: cool idea for a plot, HORRIBLE writing and execution in multiple aspects, and some of the artworks are very beautiful but extremely limited in scope-- if you really want to look at them, just download them for free off certain *cough* websites) also- thank GOD i bought this during a sale. that said, it was not even worth the sale price. i'm sorry, but no, just no.

Art work is fantastic for the heroines and Monsters. Voice acting is really good. Story isn't bad. Decent length and 2 bonus stories.

You can tell a good amount of work was put into this game. The art is beautiful, the girls are hot and voluptuous, the voice acting is very good, and the story length is decent with tons of effects and alternate endings ( •̀ ω •́ ) Unfortunately for me, 70% of the H-scenes in this game are tentacles, and I'm not the biggest fan of those. I wish there were more human H-scenes involving Cecily and Noein. I also wanted to see more Luxeria and Xenoarachne H-scenes. The evil ladies in this game are the hottest for me, I have a weak spot for them (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) I also really liked the gallery, a good amount of effort was put into it. You can move around and zoom in on the pictures and replay the scenes they are from. I really appreciate the extra time taken for a nice gallery. Good game ദ്ദി(•ᴗ• )

This has an excellent translation, couldn't have asked for a better localisation of this work. On to the game itself, the story is kinda like a Saturday morning cartoon. Princess gets power to turn into an angel, bad guy sends 1 enemy at a time to beat her. Sometimes sending 2, but don't worry she gets a partner when that happens. It's just when they lose things get you know what. And they lose a lot, my god. They take so many Ls in the story. For what it's worth, the pacing is quick. Once you're out of the long prologue, things just keep going until the end. There are some choices that really just cause them to take even more Ls and gives you a game over instantly. In that regard the story is perfectly serviceable, just don't expect any amazing characters. There are some pretty epic moments though, Some moments that really make you want to cheer the heroine on, like yeah! I have to compliment the attack effects. The way the camera just spazzes out whenever the heroine gets struck is a very neat effect, which adds to the chaos and confusion that the heroine must feel during combat. Overall, it's a very high quality product that gives what you're looking for which is the scenes and a bit more on the side of visuals and story.

Thoroughly enjoyed this visual novel and it's darker adult themes, which it's honestly not something for everybody so keep that in mind if you're thinking of getting this yourself. The over-arching story was great, and the voice acting was phenomenal, alongside the gorgeous art it makes for a very intriguing experience, which is accentuated by the superb translation. Loved the writing, and how the characters psyche slowly change for better or worse, which can vary depending on your choices, albeit limited ones as they may be. Overall the story is quite long, but maybe that's just me since I take my time reading instead of just rushing through scenes. Took me about twenty hours or so to complete, with an extra three or so to get alternate/bad endings and the bonus chapters. The H-Scenes do have mosaic censorship which I personally am not too bothered by, but I can see how it can be a huge turn-off for others so be aware of that in case that makes it a buy or pass for you. With that said, the scenes are very good if it hits the proper kinks which it does for myself, I don't want to go into detail as to spoil much but if you're more into vanilla stuff you might want to look up some examples or read other reviews, as this is again, a very dark adult oriented visual novel. Hopefully we can get more ports of the developers other games on Steam, definitely want to support them!

I thought it wouldn't be over-extended as much as this, i regret having bought this with the 2nd volume. A lot of scenes have a ton of dialogues and long descriptions of just everything and a lot of it could be said in a few sentenses instead of a hundred. Most of the characters seems a bit over the top, with female characters having higher buget art. (nothing new here) My current opinion is that the game is a lot about R*PE, URINE and possibly POOP fetish... With that direction of fetishes i wouldn't be surprised to see ANAL, which is all things i'm not into. The overly extended narrative and dialogues really turn down the quality it stands as for how i see it. Some parts are well lenghted but sometimes it just last 5x more than it should. The 1st r*pe literally took over an hour (including some skip past 3 quarters read through)), a scene that could've taken 10 minutes of high quality narrative and dialogues was so stretched for an unreasonable amount of time turned me down quite a lot, and then the next scene where she "cleanses herself" also takes a while for no reason, which i've skipped more than half for how absurdly long it was. I really hope it doesn't stay that way and turn better I'll give a chance to the story tho, and if it doesn't stop, maybe give a try to the 2nd volume, which i hope doesn't go wrong aswell. I almost never skip through literature but reading something that doesn't seem to end any time soon is just painful, especially if a scene is uncomfortably long with literally no development. edit: Found a dialogue descibing a monster as a 10 feet tall specimen, only to be later described as the height of a multi floor building.... Brother, 10 feet is 3 meters, not 10+, lol. re-edit after giving a second try: Skipped through everything else the game has to offer, trully overextended from start to finish... Got all achievements in an hour of skipping around.

Recommend yes, because I think it accomplishes what it's trying to do. Personally, it's not my cup of tea, so take this review with a grain of salt. Trigger warning, of course: there's some harrowing ♥♥♥♥ in this title, and probably no good for survivors of actual sexual trauma. I bought this because it was on sale, and I realized that I had seen VN eroge mentioned in various anime and manga as tropes, but I've never actually played one. That combined with references to the "female knight being ravaged after losing a battle" trope (Hello Darkness), I got curious as to where that actually came from, I figured I might as well satisfy my curiosity and just dive in and try to play one. What is this game trying to do? I think it's trying to deliver a straight-played female knight-themed erotic story via VN. Based on the assumption that I guessed correctly the intent of the developers/writers/artists, I'd say they delivered. The artwork is good, voice acting in JP doesn't sound too campy--or maybe the right amount of campiness, I can't tell really. The explicit scenes involving monsters elicit feelings of grossness and shame in the viewer, and I think that's intended. It's like when you read Attack on Titan and people are getting devoured, whatever that feeling is when you see someone become a victim--that sadness at what you're seeing but satisfaction that you're witnessing something with appropriate weight in a story--I get a similar feeling reading through this VN. I'm truly reading about a princess and her retainer going through some harrowing ♥♥♥♥. It's pretty intense. For background to this review, my first foray into VNs was Muv-Luv, which I read through after reading that some of Isayama's inspiration for AOT came from Muv-Luv's Beta universe. I'm also interested in exploring sex themes in games since I'm trying to figure out a game story that de-emphasises combat as a means of overcoming conflict, so I'll pick up a title like this once in a while. I say this to help the reader of this review understand that's where I'm coming from with this review. I apologize for the low quality of this review, as I don't normally write these, but I wanted to get my thoughts on this title down somewhere and try my hand at writing one.

Fortunately, Eden's Ritter: [b]Paladins of Ecstasy[/b] can be booted into a 16:9 aspect ratio. The titlescreen is loaded, and the user-interface is pleasant. From "Graphic", you may access previously encountered CGs (which are seperated by character). "Scene" is similar, but instead of raw CGs you may view their associated in-game scenes. The "Music" menu performs the same function as "Graphic", but for audio instead of images. From "Config", you are able to adjust a wide variety of audio, display, and gameplay preferences. The configuration menu is surprisingly robust, and easy to navigate. There are also a pair of "Extra Story" buttons, which access post-game content (but can be viewed at anytime). [b]- The Goods-[/b] There are tons of static CGs to behold, all of them [i]wonderfully[/i] rendered. I saw a lot of animal-on-lady sexy time, [i]not so-consensual[/i] intercourse, mild gore and other taboo subjects. . . buyer beware. It's too bad the CGs are censored. Expect male-on-female sexual content. [h1]Verdict[/h1] Wait for a sale. [i]Thirty USD[/i] is a hefty price tag — normally, I would expect roughly twenty to thirty hours of content for that investment. However, the artwork is phenomenal. The dealbreaker for me is the censorship, and for that reason I will not be recommending this title to anyone who isn't oppressed by censorship laws. There's a lot of content to soak in, but I would keep this title in your wishlist if it [i]peeks[/i] your interests. Everyone's t‎i‎t‎s are too hilariously big to the point I just get sympathy pains, and there's too much p‎i‎s‎s and f‎ut‎a‎n‎a‎r‎i here for my tastes, but this is the only game on Steam I'm aware of where you can get r‎ap‎e‎d to death by both a horse and a cute ol' spider lady that knocks you up with literal spiders, so I would be remiss in not giving this a positive review

This VN was quite engrossing to me and I just couldn't put it down sometimes. It's a simple story, but it progresses at a decent clip and has some good character development for the main protagonist. The voice acting is incredible, the leading ladies give very spirited performances. The art is just amazing. Gorgeous. I could stare at it all day. And the music is surprisingly good, stellar really. I get "Shame in defeat" stuck in my head on a regular basis. As you can tell from my other games, I like it spicy. And when it comes to spice, there is a lot of it in this VN. That being said, this is like an authentic Asian spice... It heaps it on and at times it was too much at times for me. [spoiler] The second I saw that there was a "scat imagery on/off" option in the settings I knew this was going to be a ride. There's also niche fetishes like nipple penetration, lactation and vore [/spoiler] That being said, it's quite entertaining and worth a look if you're looking for something dark and spicy to indulge in.
