Way to remaster your GameGuru game in Unity and still leave the Credits listing 'GameGuru and FPSC Classic' as the resources used with no mention of Unity.
Anyway, this remaster removes a bunch of stuff from My Bones, from memory the best thing about My Bones was that initially the 'monster' was a drawing that appeared in a fixed place, not tied to the player view, so the few people who bought it thought that there wasn't one & then there was a patch that was meant to add the monster but it just spawned a solid black model of a person that had no animation, so it just stood there.
Pretty sure that was My Bones, anyway, this remaster does away with both a those and shortens the map area significantly and takes away a bunch of the collecting of keys that made the first release annoying. That's probably the biggest praise I can give this remaster, that it is less annoying than the original GameGuru version, but it is still really unnecessary, in addition to being saturated with bloom effects, good lord, the bloom effects.
I really hope this isn't the start of a trend of GameGuru devs who learned Unity, re-releasing all the GameGuru trash I used to speedrun, I don't want to feel compelled to run bloom riddled Elves Adventure et al

A very pretty game for a cheap horror game. Very, very little gameplay - you'll beat it in 15 minutes. It's like it was written by an angsty teenager --- only play this if you want to cringe.

The Count and I saved this one for when the time was right.
My goodness. I can safely say that this is a faithful re-imagining of the original hit, My Bones. The original has become a bit of a fan favorite among us. This remaster takes you to familiar lands but some key story beats a left forgotten.
I don't think the plot makes much more sense than last time, but there's certainly a lot less text :(
Overall, I'd recommend playing this if you liked the original game.

Whoa. Sideways thumb.
That took me twice as long to work through as the last game. Mostly because I had to watch a youtube video that the Dev provided to solve a puzzle. The only clue was way too cryptic to figure out what I was supposed to do. Without that video I would have considered the game broken. Oof.
Ok, so, what was the difference between the original and the remaster? Quite a bit it seemed. The graphics and text were cleaned up a great deal and the choice in the end was much more clear.
Is this worth $1.99? Oh heckin heckity heck no. I got this for less than .50 and I still feel like it was a little pricey. Grab on sale in the bundle. It's worth a once through if you like to see indie development progression.

If there were a rating between negative and positive, it would apply here.
Ever since GDNomad switched to Unity, things have stepped in the right direction. The most noticeable changes are the technical improvements from switching engines. The English is now surprisingly coherent. The graphics look better, but I feel the shaders serve more to obscure subpar detailwork. The removal of useless gameplay elements is also welcome, though that further trims down the runtime of an already short game.
Unity can only carry a certain amount of load. Despite some gameplay changes, story remains the weakest point, and is the main reason I can’t get behind this game. The entire beast subplot underground serves no purpose; once that is removed, and the main plot is exposed, there isn’t anything of substance. What remains is a tin-eared idea of a story told mainly through scrolling text.
At the end of the day, this is still My Bones. The problems with My Bones extend farther than whatever technical or graphical improvements were added here. If you didn’t like the original game, this glossy makeover won’t do it for you either. My Bones Remastered is another step up, but it’s sadly still not worth recommending.

I just played the older part, which was really bad for my opinion, so i was expecting the same for this remastered version. But this game is was better. Its less confusing and even has a little puzzle in it. Its easier to understand and to play. All in one a pretty nice "minigame". I can recommend it

Well, it certainly looks a lot better than the original version...which I see I gave a measly 3.5 out of 10. So how does it compare in regard to gameplay?
I'd be lying if I said that I've played the original so many times as to know it inside-out, but...I'm pretty sure it's much the same.
My character awakens in an admittedly atmospheric cemetery, and heads straight for a boarded-up crypt in front of me. I enter the crypt and find...nothing. At least nothing I can interact with: my character has no use for axes, it seems, and I have no idea why the cute bunny statue is sat beside the axe in question. A homicidal hare in waiting, perhaps? So far, so perplexing...
Shortly after this, I go through some gates and approach a much larger mausoleum. I decide to look to the sides rather than simply approaching the front doors, and must have immediately found the correct way inside 'cause...I need only look at a grate in the floor and hit the interact button to find myself in another abrupt load screen. Twenty seconds later, I'm in a spooky underground interior with a non-interactive ladder behind me. Yup: still baffled. But I diligently press on, undaunted by the almost complete lack of context...
There's other head-scratchers to come - including more appearances by the ubiquitous bunny - but I'll spare you the blow-by-blow. Especially since the "game" only lasts around ten minutes; so I really shouldn't spend too much longer writing this review than I spent playing the product itself!
Some positives. The game's use of sound is surprisingly strong, though I think I remember it being the most effective element of the original as well; so I can't rightly say if that's been improved in any way. And the notes certainly read a bit better than the first time, even if they still have some minor errors in their translation to English. All 'round, a decidedly more "professional" effort than the earlier attempt; if an arguably pointless remake, just the same.
I'll be honest: I bought this one out of sheer morbid interest (it's not often you see bargain basement developers "remaking" and re-releasing their own questionable product). Is it worth the money, even at the slightly discounted price I nabbed it for? No, not really. But if you find it for 50c US, and don't mind paying that much for the briefest and most bewildering of "experiences", it may be worth a look. If only just. (Though it really should be FREE, let's face it!)
The barest of passes, if only in deference to the dev's commitment to slowly - and I do mean slowly! - improving his craft (or at least upgrading his engine). Four years is a long time between drinks, though...
Oh, and the "story"? I'll let you know if I work out that there was one.
Verdict: 5/10.

My Bones Remastered is the remake of the GDNomad classic and by that I mean one of his worst games.
Story:
The story is pretty much identical to the original game. You play as a man who has killed his family and you get stuck in hell and you need to get out. That's about it on the story department and nothing changed about the games plot.
It's a terrible story and it's poorly written. There's nothing fresh about this plot and it's predictable as they come and this is to be expected from GDNomad. However I will give him props, a lot of the grammatical errors have been fixed which make the story much easier to follow this time around, but there's still a few errors here and there. However it's a massive upgrade.
Graphics:
GameGuru has been dropped and we moved to Unity and the game looks much better. I will give him props, the game actually looks really good, albeit pretty simplistic. Comparing it to the original game it's like night and day and it looks much better.
Assets look like they were built for the game instead of the asset flip look of the original game. Which also deserves props for the slight effort.
Audio:
Audio sucks, plain and simple. The music is incredibly forgettable and the sound effects are just eh all around. They ruin all the atmosphere the game tries to build, this issue was in the original game, but it was much worse there. But I wish there could have been done to improve it, but there hasn't.
Gameplay:
Also like the original, My Bones Remastered is at heart a key hunting simulator and it's boring as hell. You walk around these environments looking for items and just keep walking. The story isn't good so you quickly find yourself bored, walking around these environments since you don't care about the plot.
It's mostly a walking simulator and those really are carried by the plot or the minor puzzles you find every so often, however there's nothing like that here, it's really not good.
Verdict:
Even though it's a major upgrade over the original game, there's not much you can do to polish a turd. The plot is bad, gameplay is boring and graphics alone are not worth playing this game for. Honestly I applaud that some effort was put into this, but again it's yet again another GDNomad game that's not worth playing.
Final Rating:
3/10
Pros:
+ Major improvements over the original
Cons:
- Plot sucks
- Audio design is forgettable
- Gameplay is boring

This is the 3rd game I've played from this same developer, and the third total rip off piece of low effort trash he's made.
All I ask for in a game is that a developer show some real "effort" in trying to make a decent value and fun experience for the user. Neither can be said here. This game is easily completed in under 15 minutes and uses Unity but has free stock assets from GameGuru and FPS Creator. It does have decent sound effects and bloom lighting from his use of the Unity engine however.
Still, this game gets a big fat ZERO score from me for delivering zero value and zero fun. It's just another low effort piece of asset trash on Steam clogging up the Steam store and helping to bury real gems out there.
NOT RECOMMENDED. My Score: ZERO.

Interesting tale of life and death.
This game is your standard Unity walking simulator, although it is extremely short and takes about 5 minutes to complete. There is more than one ending... so 10+ minutes!
Some of the graphics are nice and there are some nice music cues. The highlight for me was getting the second key, if you stay in the room for a bit there is a nice, trippy, scary soundscape.
I don't think I can recommend this game even though it doesn't cost much. Way too short and needs more context.
