I LOVE this game. I am only 2 'Sectors' (Worlds?) in, but I can already tell this is everything I hoped the game would be. Retro styled mini pixel art graphics, satisfyingly juicy explosions and debris particles, ridiculous enemy diversity, and EPIC boss battles. The gameplay is challenging, but fair. You feel rewarded as your skill improves and you successfully tackle various in level challenges. If you miss 2D action plaftormers from console eras long gone, THIS is the game for you.

It's good. Shoot bad guys, don't get killed, repeat until you get them all, go to the next level, shoot more bad guys, etc. Compared to the original, this has more environmental hazards (in some levels they're much more dangerous than enemy fire) and some shmup levels, but it feels similar, in a good way.

pretty neat game is quite brutal lol love the run and gun action with the neat sprite work despite the character so small you can know what is going on

Quite a fun arcade style game. The simple controls hide a decent amount of tactical considerations. The one big issue I had was repetition in the level design--there's a lot of variety between levels, but within a single level you'll often face pretty much identical challenges multiple times. Still, a good experience.

I have this game on another account, but I bought it again. That's how much I like it. The gameplay is simple. You can shoot and jump. There are no power-ups, but the huge variety of levels and enemies keeps things interesting. Getting a perfect rating on every level is as much about choosing the best approach as it is having good reflexes. Some experimentation is required to find the low-risk approach to some of the tricky enemies and traps. On normal difficulty, everyone can beat this game. On brutal difficulty... good lord.

I really enjoyed the first freeware game in the series. And sequel didn't disappoint me. I think that the best description for the gameplay will be: fast-paced platformer with the tactical shooter elements. Graphic are simple but crisp. Music is fine. The price is cheap. Go for it!

This game is extremely under-rated for anyone who love pure action hectic games like "The Butcher". the controls are perfect, the mechanics are pretty interesting about shooting and aiming doesn't allow moves, gives me memories of old games. I slightly remember the original game and I think that game serve as an amazing successor for it. I think some of the drawbacks are in some of the enemy designs that shoot a lot of bullets with no in between which make it hard to kill (planes coming from top tube found in mission 1-6). Also, I like the accessibility options that make everything more clear to see, I think it would be nice if there is also option to make the foreground also more simplistic because sometimes some of the amazing looking details with all the action happening make it hard to see. Overall, this is a solid great game for anyone who love action filled games :) Thanks so much for creating that game :) Hope it get more attention as it deserves it.

Quick Description: -Destructivator 2 is retro throwback action platformer that is guaranteed to bring you back to gaming in the 90's. This game is just as brutally challenging as old school games were but there are plenty of modern quality of life improvements sprinkled throughout this gem. This is a great game for those looking to bring themselves back to the good old days of arcade platform shooters. What's Good: -Really easy to learn but there is a really high skill ceiling. This is a game on the surface that appears very simple and that is one of it's strengths. Your only goal is to kill all enemies while shooting a NES contra-style gun and avoiding damage at all cost, that's it. As you progress, you will face increasingly difficult challenges that push you to master these fundamental mechanics. -Very tough but fair. This is not an easy game but it never puts more in front of you than you can handle. I found that even the hardest levels were manageable w/ enough planning and patience. This is the sign of a well developed difficulty curve. -I really liked the aesthetic. It looks like an old school arcade shooter or an NES game but it's as polished as you'd expect from a game in 2021. There are lots of bright colors, it's very easy to see all of the ladders, platforms, and quickly locate all of the dangerous enemies. -Cheap as balls. I think it's $8 normally, and right now it's on sale for under $2. That's crazy good value for a game of this quality! You will very likely get at least 5-8 hrs out of your first playthrough. It will take you many more hours to get a 5 star rating on every level. -Boss battles are fun, unique, and offer new challenges each time. These feel like some of the epic boss battles of the NES era where bosses take up most of the screen. They always feel intimidating at first until you start to learn their patterns. Could Use a Few Changes: -The only area of the game visually that I found difficult to see was the smaller bullets that the first wave enemies shoot at you. You will face off w/ these guys the entire game, but in the later levels it's really easy to not see a tiny bullet coming from one of them when you have large ships and robot spiders shooting projectiles at you. The camera view is really far away, which may be an issue for ppl that don't have great vision. -Every level looks the same more or less. Each world does have a different color palette and they do mix up the enemy types and structure types, but by and large they all tend to blend together. -I found the difficulty curve to be just right but I could see less experienced players struggling to get any traction early. The first world world can be a bit overwhelming if you're less experienced to these type of games. Thoughts: -Destructivator 2 is a great game that needs to get more attention in the Indie community. I never played the original Destructivaor, but this is a really fun sequel, and one I'm happy to recommend to retro action platformer fans. Consensus: -Solid Game (Tier 3 and makes up 35% of my reviews). Don't overlook this one, it's a really solid balance of fun, challenge, and nostalgia that will be a great addition to your gaming collection.

Very entertaining indie shooter platformer. Pixelart and sound are high, and gameplay is good and fast (gamepad and keyboard). For an indie game it offers a lot of quantity and quality. I have not finished it, but I think there are six missions divided into 8 stages and a final boss. I mean, quite content. Completisters can replay to get 5 stars for each stage. Retro, well done, entertaining and cheap, especially on sale. 8 asterisks. Asteriskel rating = * * * * * * * *
