It's nearly a hidden gem of a metroidvania except for the fact that it's too short and a bit glitchy. While the game play is simplistic, it's actually pretty fun. You play as a witch and move through different environments defeating enemies to get to the next save point and eventually defeat the boss. You get a couple magical spells but only a few are really useful in combat. Her regular wand attack can pummel enemies at close range, but you need to be careful because this game is surprisingly pretty hard. Most indie metroidvanias tend to have overly simplistic combat, but this game's fights require a degree of skill. The bosses in particular have varying phases and you pretty much need to memorize the attack patterns to win.
Beyond this there are shards for health and magic and you pick up a few new spells as you progress. It's almost a great game, the only issue is that it's just way too short. The glitches don't really break the game but they can be irritating, especially since the game is pretty hard to begin with. 100% completion adds an hour or so to the game play but this game takes 3-4 hours at most to beat. The graphics are absolutely beautiful and remind me of other indie classics like cave story. It's the best game by this developer and considering I spent less than a dollar on it I would say it is well worth the money.
