Lake is a lovely cosy game. Very autumnal and relaxed, perfect for gaming with tea and a candle!
Positives:
- Gentle but lovely story
- Interesting range of characters
- Beautiful scenery
- Relaxing music
- A well developed sense of relationship amongst the townspeople
- Relaxing gameplay loop which isn't brain draining in any way
Negatives:
- The visuals can be a bit glitchy, doesn't really affect the gameplay at all but can be a little irritating
- Driving into something occasionally projectiles the van across the environment! So you do need to be a bit careful
- The AI vehicles/people can be a bit annoying so expect some car accidents!!!
- Slight downside in that the characters don't really emote, or show any emotion at all. Which I think spoils the good job the voice actors did as it doesn't mesh as well with the visuals
- The houses are very samey, again doesn't really affect the gameplay but it would be nice to have some more personality to them
Overall would recommend. I have played this through multiple times and would absolutely come back to it again.

Lake isn’t about drama or puzzles—it’s a gentle pilgrimage to rest, connection, and slow life. With its cozy visuals, unhurried storytelling, and soft comfort, it's perfect for when you want to pause and breathe.

Very cute. Very cozy. For a very short time. I wish the game play was a little bit longer and the character development and options were a lot more in depth. If you like a straight story, then this is for you. If not, you'll get very short enjoyment out of it without being able to continue afterwards. Overall, it's like reading a short novel, but with relatively good graphics.

I LOVE THIS! It's a very cosy game, with beautiful vistas, and relaxing but meaningful music. It feels like an autumn hug, and the choices you choose do matter, although the plot is quite straightforward. The only thing that's like a pet peeve to me is that some voice dialogues and their lip sync don't match, or that the scene gets stuck in the awkward silence. Overall, I had a wonderful time playing. Kudos!
Recommended for: People who just wants to relax with a short and cosy games with engaging story lines.

Played through demo, then game crashed. Tried to restart several times, but just opens to a blank, white screen. Verified file integrity, reinstalled, nothing. Apparently this is a known issue with no fixes. Would not buy until devs fix.

I've always been infatuated with small lakeside town atmospheres of games like Life is Strange and Alan Wake. Lake does offer that same ambience without all the drama, but feels a bit empty in some places.
I'm only a couple hours into it so far thus these are only first impressions. The environment is nicely lit and coloured, which conveys a sense of cleanliness and peace. It is rather easy on the eyes.
The dialogue is written and paced nicely, such that each conversation never feels like it goes on too short or long. This is further established in the fact you have the freedom to end conversations early through your dialogue options, so that it never feels like an obligation to drag them on. The voice acting serves well and brings life to the characters, but this is in contrast to a town that feels like it's lacking in liveliness due to a lack of tertiary characters. You play as the protagonist and repeatedly revisit secondary characters to build relationships with, while random pedestrians are uninteractable. This is contrast to another delivery game "Cloudpunk" which is full of tertiary characters with small side plots, that make its environment feel authentic.
On top of that there are a lack of random activities to do, other than playing the arcade cabinet in the diner. For instance there is a fisherman character that you deliver to his bait shop, but there is no fishing. You have a house but you can't actually walk around inside it, so it's dedicated solely to cutscenes. Lastly you never have to worry about fueling up your van with gas since fuel isn't a mechanic. This makes the game essentially more of a visual novel than an interactive world, with commuting in your delivery van being used as small breaks or intermissions between conversations.
I'm going to give the game a thumbs up for now because it feels like a good amount of heart went into it, even if it may seem to lack ambition or budget.

I really love the concept: a relaxing and low pressure job in a gorgeous setting? Sign me up. However, the game feels very slow, especially when walking, which can become easily frustrating. Plus, characters are friendly, but most lack depth.
Overall, still a nice game to pass some time.

TLDR: I did enjoy this game overall & I do recommend it (on a sale price).
- The game was very buggy in a way that felt like this was still in beta and not a fully released game. The audio and subtitles didn't match at times, characters moved in a weird way, etc.
- The graphics are cute but for a game that emphasizes atmosphere they felt outdated, could benefit from better shaders perhaps?
- There were a few things that could have made the game feel more alive - I think giving the option to change clothing at the start of the workday would've been nice, even if it was only a couple different outfits/hairstyles to choose from. Or at least automatically changing them for us on different weather days. On the day of a thunderstorm giving her an umbrella or something, just giving it a more realistic feel.
- Having her mail bag get gradually smaller the more mail you deliver would've been cool too.
- Speaking of weather the changes in weather were nice but they felt .. flat and not fully immersive or fleshed out. The water drops looked weird. It would have been cool to see the water bounce off the mail truck, or puddles on the ground. It just looked like the water went nowhere.
- I understand that in real life not everyone is going to answer the door for the packages but I hated that half of my package deliveries nobody answered. Let me meet new people, even if it's only once only and the conversation is brief. I want to feel like I'm really immersed in this town.
- Regarding the love interests.. I felt like the story didn't progress enough for me to really care about either of them. We never really got the option to know them on a deep enough level.
- The photography aspect should have more slots!! Or at least the option to delete pictures if you're not happy with them.
- Give MC her dang blueberry pie.
Despite all this feedback the game was fun and cozy, and I would say it's worth a replay even. But I would wait for a sale.
