As an avid follower of the CtC channel on YT, I knew what I can expect: quality sudoku puzzles made by people, that have unique ideas to crack and solve. I really like the presentation: the App feels like it was put together by people with great taste in aesthetics. The puzzles get a little repetitive because the app only has one variant (I highly recommend the YT channel, where you get a totally unique puzzle every day you can also play, for free), but it really solidifies some solving techniques that are crucial later on with harder puzzles. Do one or two a day, and it is heaps of fun. The negatives for me sadly are the clues: I do not think they are done in a modern way and I think there could be a way to show which cell they are talking about for example. Right now they feel like a text-based game, which is not the best way to do this. A few times they contained also typos (which is to be expected) and they are sometimes hard to follow, as they have logic leaps the author expects you to know. Also they are not automatic meaning the hints are not understanding where you are in the puzzle, so you need to read those that you already solved, and then go to the one you need to progress. I feel this also could be improved by binding the hints to certain completeness of the grid, as I feel most of the solvers are actually using the same notations we have learned anyway. One other problem is, that the App is constantly keeping my CPU fan at high speed, maybe because the UI eats up way too much CPU cycles. All in all, if you like sudoku, and you follow the CtC channel, these Apps are a blind buy.

Sandwich sudoku is difficult and fun. More, it's made by excellent sudoku solvers so they know how to do it right. The timer is a great addition for those who care about efficiency. The variety of quality of life additions are excellent (corner and center marks with center marks being automatically updated depending on how valuable they are are the best). For those that don't like getting stuck, they have the optional checker. There are a handful of limitations, but I say this is a good sudoku game. The progress by beating easier puzzles to unlock harder puzzles is great and keeps me coming back. There are no achievements or trading cards, but I will give them a pass on that.

I did not expected much buying the game, but its suprisingly good. Managed to add to Sudoku while still being coherent with the base design of the game, impressive!

This is a great sudoku game, 100 puzzles all in the sandwich format (given the sum of digits placed between the 1 and 9 in each row/column). Highly recommend this one.

The only bad thing I can say about this game is that I find their interface to be less intuitive than Sven's SudokuPad, namely that backspace is bound to the undo action rather than delete, and that N and M are used for undo/redo instead of the more common Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y. Still, it provides enough options so that it is still playable for those more used to SudokuPad or other Sudoku apps. One feature of the UI I do like is that it has a specific button for annotating 19 in a single cell - something which you will do a lot in Sandwich Sudoku. You often know where the 1s and 9s are in the puzzle, but don't know which is which, so this is a nice quality-of-life feature. Another feature I really is the hints. Unlike with other puzzle games where it would just reveal the value of a random cell, it actually explains a piece of logic for you, to help you solve the puzzle on your own. This allows the game to become a learning experience where you can become a better Sudoku Solver. There are 100 puzzles in this Sudoku, ranging from fantastically easy to frustratingly difficult. The game encourages you to start slow by only giving you access to the easy puzzles. As you play you will unlock the harder puzzles one by one, giving you a sense of progression as you complete more puzzles. If you're a fan of Sudoku this game is inexpensive and will provide hours of gameplay. It can be simple and fun, or it can be complex and frustrating. It's a must-have in any puzzle game collection.

Having successfully worked hundreds of traditional Sudoku puzzles, I was ready for a change. I ran across "Cracking the Cryptic," and decided to try Sandwich Sudoku. I really enjoy the math clues to help solve the puzzles. It took a fair amount of time to figure out what the numbers on the puzzle menu meant, but finally realized you just start each puzzle by double clicking on any one ( I am old school, so I started with number 1 and worked them in sequence!) i am getting a bit faster with each completed puzzle. Great fun!

really fun puzzles if you love sudoku, it adds a change for classic sudoku. I really the app, but it would be great if it had a dark mode, and another great thing would be to sync the progress to the cloud, because I use the app in 2 different desktop/laptop

I downloaded it when I still wasnt that good at regular sudoku and it was way too hard. If you can not regularly beat new york times hard sudoku puzzles I'd recommend improving a bit before trying this game. I came back a couple months later after imroving and this was much more fun. The sandwitch part kind of reminds me of japaneses picross puzzles where you can use colors to mark spaces where there must not be a 1 or 9. I recommend this game to people who like sudoku and want an interesting spin on the game

Sandwich sudoku is a variant of sudoku that tells you the sum of numbers between 1 and 9 ina given column / row. It feels like you're building the puzzle together with the designer, while solving it at the same time. For me, it also gives a feeling close to Nonograms when, at the beginning, the player has to figure out the positions of 1s and 9s using Xs. So, anything that can mix Nonograms and Sudoku is a plus in my book. Like all the other Cracking The Cryptic puzzles, everything here is hand-made, not computer generated, so you can bet you'll be solving interesting puzzles every time.

I love it and would recommend it! The interface is easy to use and quite intuitive, the design is nice and simple and customizable. [The only constructive critisism I have is: it would be great if you could check off all the hints you used (the ones outside of the grid) so it's easier to see on what hints to focus on next. But this is a minor thing and not hindering the fun at all.] Edit: apparently it is already in the game, so nevermind that comment. Also, maybe an idea for the future: it would be cool if users could upload their own sandwich sudokus, so that others can play and rate them (e.g. 1/3 stars for difficulty, 3/3 stars for design/fun etc.). So, if you're a fan of sandwich sudokus and are looking for a nice app for solving them, this is definately the way to go! 10/10
