8/10 Very solid point and click adventure with a great artstyle and good mystery.
Slender Threads is a very solid but perhaps not groundbreaking point and click mystery/thriller adventure with some light horror. You take the role as Harvey, a travelling salesman and aspiring writer who when people start to die around him while on one of his travels, give him the premonition of his own death. It's your typical point and click adventure, but thankfully enough, with pretty few moon logic puzzles. Most of it was fairly straight forward and you , there is a hint system (if you don't care about 100%) and a fast travel map (again if you don't care about 100%) making things easier for you if you get stuck.
The 100% process was a bit annoying, There are quite a few missable ones due to you having to use a inventory object in some other way rather than it's intended purpose first (when you solved the puzzle it get's removed from your inventory, good design for this type of game, but also means that you can't do the achievement anymore. Just make sure you either have a lot of saves or look up the items that are needed for the achievements and what you need to do. The no hint achievement was not really a issue, the game isn't especially hard for anyone used to the regular logic in this type of game. The really annoying one is the "no fast travel", since the map is fairly big it does take some time getting from one area to the next, especially if you are just exploring trying to figure out puzzles and items you missed. That's why my playthrough ended up at 9+ hours, the game is definitely not that long. Bad achievement design, it doesn't make the game or the achievement hunting harder, just worse to play.

Puzzles are decent and mostly fun to solve, but the layout of the town makes playing this a chore. Most screens are bigger than they need to be with just one or two objects to interact with, too. Still, good enough just looking at the gameplay side of it. However, it's marred by a story that grows more and more uninteresting and horribly paced as it goes on only to result in a BS ending so corny it's sad and insulting. Take three guesses what the explanation for the mysterious events is and I can guarantee you one of them is the actual answer. Yawn.

I'll recommend the game if only for the art style and the puzzles. The story starts very interesting, but as it goes on it's a bit confusing, only to end with an ending that, frankly, ruined the entire game for me.
I basically played the game on almost one go, super interested in it, only to be slapped at the end by that ending.

Felt too short for the price, may 7 hours included a lot of AFK time while the game was running in the background

A great little adventure game (~5 hours) to enjoy with amazing art style, and very convenient UI/UX. Even when you need to backtrack there is fast travel there to accommodate you.
Puzzles are fairly easy. With only ~3 times where I ended up looking up a solution after some meandering. But for the most part are things I had obviously missed, and so there's no 'silly logic' here. With perhaps a few quirky item interactions but nothing crazy.
People complain about the ending. But I think it's fine. If you go in here expecting a quick and "spooky" adventure it fits the bill and delivers the goods. :)
Voice acting are extremely good. Way better than you'd expect from an indie adventure game. Every character has a distinct personality and it shines through how they speak. Whoever captured their voices knew what they were doing all professional studio quality.
To go along with the amazing voice acting, you have really great musical score. Definitely fills the ambiance and makes the whole experience have feeling.
Definitely enjoyed the journey even though it's a little on the short side. If you're someone that considers playtime / money spent, you're probably best to wait for a sale.

Slender Threads is a point and click adventure game with a really strange unique story. The game takes place in a small weird town where you walk up and down approximately 4-5 streets, enter stores, talk to interesting characters, and solve puzzles. The whole game takes place at night and has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. The main game took 5 hours to complete and there is a short epilogue after the game is done that took around 20 minutes to finish.
+ The hand drawn art style is fantastic. Lots of beautiful locations to explore and fast travel was a helpful feature.
+ The voice acting is terrific, very professional. Each character you meet has a very unique voice. A+ Top Tier.
+ There is Zero pixel hunting in this game, which is awesome. Some people say the puzzles are easy in this game, but I think the puzzles are just right in difficulty. I only got stuck once where I would have never thought to use an item in a certain place. 99% of the puzzles are achievable on your own without a guide.
+ Lots of humour and well written dialog.
+ Excellent sound effects, design and clarity.
+/- The story starts off amazing with wonder and mystery, but then completely takes a nose dive near the end of the game.
+/- The music in the game is an original score. It is serviceable but nothing really stood out as fantastic or memorable.
- The ending and epilogue are very divisive in reviews. I am in the camp where I thought both were absolutely horrible. I won't get into it for spoilers sake but it basically ruined the game for me and brought down my score immensely. I get what the developers were trying to convey but to me the whole thing just fell flat like a dirty pancake and I wanted it to end.
- The game is priced high for the length and what you get.
The game is quality in design, its just a real shame where the developers took the ending of the story.
Cautiously recommended.
