Classic style RPG with a homely feel. Lots of content, lots of build options, a bit rough around the edges but full of charm.

Some of the most fun I've had with a game in a while. Is it AAA polished? No. Can it have a bit of jank sometimes? It's no Bethesda game, but sure. Is the voice acting something to turn the volume down on? Resounding yes. But I'll be damned if it didn't have some of the most adventure focused gameplay/freedom I've engaged with in a long time. I'm whipping around the map with my flying mage or dragon mount and fighting bosses well out of my level because I organically created a flying-focused mage that avoids almost all damage while sniping enemies with lightning bolts, blasting wind attacks for CC and burst healing in between flight. I'm literally almost never on the ground. This game also hits such a huge nail on the head for an rpg. Exploration. At first the game will seem very simple and perhaps even boring. But once you pass that threshold, you'll find yourself cautiously sneaking into all kinds of ruins, temples, caves, and unique instances with bizarre narratives and thought provoking puzzles to hopefully dig up that powerful new gear piece. It fits right in between no hand holding while creating environments that are intuitive and logical to maneuver through. It might sometimes have you scratching your head until the mechanic finally clicks and now your'e progressing. Solid 8/10 for me, especially considering this was all one dev. Great work.

I tried man, I WANTED to like this game, but it has so many issues and hang-ups for me. Audio control is my main gripe: HITsounds are SO LOUD so much GAIN but you can turn EVERY other sound down with 1 slider, but cannot change the loudness of hitsounds. also NPCs clip thru terrain a lot. This can be funny or it can actually halt your gameplay/progress.

The game has the look and a feel of a very high quality MMORPG, without any of the framework to implement it. It is basically a solo RPG, with very slow movement, very, very bad AI enemy logic, and terrible flow between attacks/spells. I really had a lot of hope based on review for the game that it would be something I would enjoy, and not mind spending the money to buy it. But within 30 minutes of playing I already felt bored, did not know what to do, where to go, or why I was even playing the game. For a company to spend so much time of graphically creating a beautiful landscape with a unique skill system, they just failed to hit the mark on many aspects, which is why they scrapped the project and are creating Gedonia 2, which looks amazing from the videos but also is nowhere near a playable long-term game to invest hours into. I hope the developers are able to hire a programmer to develop the AI logic and general flow between movements and attacks so it doesn't feel like World of Warcraft pre-alpha.

Gedonia isn't quite capable of making a solid first impression, firmly seeming to be a basic and unexciting affair. But the more I play it, the more I like it. This is jank at its best, the sort that's endearing rather than off-putting, and for the time being I fully intend to see things through.
