Hard & fun platformer, innovative new gameplay elements, but overall the first ESJ is better.

For the Max! Awesome music, catchy gameplay. But why OST in *.mp3? Can we get *.flac?

its... hard... REALLY HARD... I would give a negative on that becuse its hard on purpose from the beginning, and not like Super Meat Boy or the rest where gets harder time to time... but hell, I love the music so i give a positive instead but be warned, I really disagree with that Dark Souls mentality...

It's Always been about the music. and the not quite sfwness. nothing actually nsfw, just sounds can be deceptive. really great platformer.

To start,I don't actually like this game, it feels like smashing your head against a brick wall hoping to break it down. I can't even get past the forth level. But that doesn't matter because the game is free. The reason this gets a recommendation is because the OST is fantastic. It's worth playing just to hear the soundtrack.

Incredible platformer with lot of different mechanics and nice OST. The story is still as crazy as the first one, and on the top of that the game is f2p (which imo is a complet steal)

I purchased the deluxe because I remembered the first ESJ being quite fun. This is like that, but with more abilities - very hard platforming and a solid soundtrack.

Twice the joy! I loved the first game. Groove City was fine. This one has some cool ideas and overall is very enjoyable experience. I still do not understand how the base of this game which includes most of the levels is FREE. I hope we will see ESJ 3 one day. I bought both "DLCs", since I want to support the developers and in my opinion, the content is worth it.

When playing in puplic it is recommended to mute checkpoint sounds 💀💀 Really good platformer with hours of playtime for free. Also has First Person shooter

Well, if you played the previous games and thought there would be improvements on this one, you'll be rather disappointed... First off, level design tends to be is really poor. It doesn't feel you're progressing as you clear levels. Layouts are not so inspired or clever, though there are exceptions. It is really easy to get yourself killed by getting out of camera range and so on. Furthermore, constant sidescrolling segments and tons of enemies that shoot homing missiles give a sense that this game is about luck, not skill. FPS levels are horrible. Seriously, they're near unplayable if you play with a joystick. Graphics are ok. I think they fit really well with the theme. The only problem is that sometimes it is not clear if enemies can be stomped or not. Also, in some levels, the amount of glowing, moving stuff in the background makes the level harder than it should be. The level selection screen is confusing as hell. Whoever designed that must have failed all HCI exams... There are some minor things that the programmer didn't pay attention such as not showing time/death the first time you open the level selection screen or showing power ups that you already have when respawning. Soundtrack is excelent and basically the selling point. Now, to be fair, it's a free game. Despite many things that suggest the game was rushed, the soundtrack is awesome and can be entertaining if you're already familiar with hardcore platformers. If you never played Electronic Super Joy before, start with 1 instead of 2.
