There are a lot of good things to say about this game, including its art, the settings, different mechanics of rivers and lakes and also the fishing! However, the game lacks content. I have only played it for 3.7 hours and have completed all fishing related achievements/tasks. After about 1.5 hours of this I had unlocked every map! I also have found that fish will bite on any lure, and in any weather, which makes the 'keeping an eye on the weather' and fly selection, a somewhat redundant component of the game.
For the price, I was hoping there would be more content (more challenges, larger shop options, maybe a small story line?) and something to keep me engaged for a longer period of time. Really hoping for an update to include the above, because I did enjoy the game for the short period it took to complete.

When it comes to fishing, I’ll be the first to admit there’s a million other things I’d rather do before stomping into a cold, wet river and waiting for hours just for a nibble; however, River Legends: A Fly Fishing Adventure gave me all of the joys of fishing with none of the negatives attached. It’s calming, it’s challenging, and it’s definitely rewarding. This is the perfect game to unwind from a particularly stressful video game or after a long day at work. If you even remotely enjoy video games and are looking for something different and wholesome, River Legends: A Fly Fishing Adventure is definitely a trophy catch.

Gotta agree with another user below who mentioned this game is not designed for PC, but mobile. The UI is indeed stupidly massive and just plain not good. Turns out when you blow up pixel art 1000x it doesn't look good! Also controls are about as dumb as they come. Probably fun on mobile, not fun on PC. Maybe my own fault for not recognizing or thinking about that, but a disclaimer would have been nice. Just writing this to save you a few bucks if you're a PC gamer.

As an old angler, I can definitely say this is THE most relaxing, and possibly the most ZEN fishing game I have ever come across. I've had my share of TONS of fishing games dating back to... well... let's just say when games were measured in megabytes and not gigabytes.
This is a fly fishing game; and this is a rarity when it comes to fishing games. Fly fishing has that meditative effect on a person, and this game captures it. The developer designed this game in such a way that you can just drift into some far off river, where you, and you alone are surrounded by nature. I love the rabbits and critters prancing about while you fish. The casting system is well designed to give you that sense of casting that line back and forth. The fish species are spot-on. The way the developer set up the reeling where you reel high, medium, or low within a zone on your screen is pretty smart. And yes you can wear waders!
I highly recommend this game. This is fly fishing. Prepare to meditate and enjoy.

Apparently this is a mobile game, I didn't know before playing it but it was immediately obvious as soon as I launched it.
UI is stupidly massive, taking up the entire screen. The entire process of fishing is unintuitive at best with a mouse, even the tutorial says things like "swipe" instead of click. It's ugly as hell as well, probably doesn't look so bad on a tiny phone screen but this is not a phone.
Minimal effort port that is just plain bad.
