Most towers are manually fired, which is fine in and of itself. however, the basic tower requires button mashing to fire at a vaguely reasonable rate, and when you're firing you can't run around collecting coins. When you're running around collecting coins, you can't fire. The flamethrower tower can fire just by being held down, which is fine, but it's very short range, so it's not usable as a front line of defense. May be more fun with multiplayer, since one of you could be collecting coins while the other shoots, and you can double up on shooting when you're close to losing. The button mashing killed the game for me.

as someone who really loves the puzzle bobble franchise, i really like this game. especially because its easy to pick up, you can play it with remote play with a buddy and its cheap. Great game, only downside is, where the f*ck is the music? you can't make a game without music?! please add music and this game will be a 8 for me.

This game has potential to be better, but it's really an incomplete game. You spend score to buy turrets? That's silly. Your score should never go down. Game isn't really difficult once you figure out the auto turret upgrade is the only thing you should get. I'd say to the devs keep at it, add a lot more, including borderless windowed mode. Held my attention for like 5-10 mins.

The current state of the game is catered towards party couch co-op than singleplayer. The game is difficult, even on normal map and normal difficulty. If you can manage 3-4 fist turrets, you should be golden in normal difficulty. They’re loud, but it would be more convenient for the player to be able to adjust the volumes themselves. The only problem with the sound effect that I’ve found is the flamethrower. There’s too much hissing and some static that hurts my ears a bit. UPDATED GAME REVIEW 👍 ────────── The game is incredibly fun and probably more so with a partner. It's like Puzzle Bobble, but also a little bit more like a tower defense game. You are given an initial currency to build your first turret (a.k.a. tower). You have access to five different turrets that you can build and upgrade. The gameplay loop involves you shooting down the blocks, which will drop you currency that you can spend to build or upgrade towers. These blocks may also have the same color and if they are connected to each other, the player can easily bring down a whole chain of them. And, some blocks have icons of fruits or pumpkins, these special blocks will drop additional coins when destroyed. If any of these blocks touches the floor, the player loses. The longer the game goes on, the tankier the blocks become. It'll eventually takes 7 hits (from gun turret) to destroy the blocks and the blocks that spawn will less likely be collected by color. As of v1.0.1, the gun turret is your default turret that now auto-fires for you; however, it's rate of fire is slow. Now you don't have to button mash to fire rapidly, you can just hold the fire button. The game itself is charming in its art style, sound effects, and music together. This is highly subjective and not considerate of the developer’s budget, time, and hard work, but I think the art style could be better. Right now, it’s generic. The problems I encountered in 2021 was that I think the user interface and experience, or rather hints, could be further improved. The current button prompts show up under the player's dinosaur as white text. Before the game starts, the player has to press a button to join the game and the developer already has the button's icon in that menu. I prefer that the icon shows up during the gameplay. For example, in the game and under the player, it is: X >> Shoot What I prefer is that the developer reuses that XBOX button prompt to show up: ( X ) Shoot Moreover, the game shows a menu that shows the list of towers for the player to build. I think it would also look nice if the developer shows button prompts with the icons next to the text as well, for example: -- The player is in front of slot -- ( Y ) Build -- The player is in front of a built turret -- The menu should show up to the right or left of the player ( A ) Mount ( Y ) Options -- Player mounted on the turret -- ( X ) Shoot For the upgrades, I think there could be more visual clarity. For example, for the cannon turret, the text should change from upgrade → + power + fire rate Or the flamethrower, upgrade → + spread + burn rate Or fist turret, upgrade → + reload speed And these text changes could stay where they are or to the side of the turret’s menu of options. At the very least, I think the action text should be a different color or has a shadow to improve visual hierarchy. For the currency and score counter, I think there should be an option for the player to toggle its position. The counter could stay where it is currently or appear at the bottom. I think putting the score at the bottom would be better because it would reduce the player’s eyeballing. The player has to dart their eyes up whenever they collect the coins or have to consider upgrades. Collecting the coins and upgrading the turrets are already being viewed at the bottom of the screen, so it would be more comfortable for the player to be able to also see the counter at the bottom too. Or maybe the developer could add in a more attention-grabbing tooltip that shows the counter, IDK. Replaying the game in 2022, I've realized that the game's balance could use an improvement for single-player. Right now, it's pretty difficult. On both normal map and difficulty, just starting with gun turrets and maxing them out is enough for me to get as high as 436; however, that requires quick reflexes and it's too difficult experiment with other turrets and max them out in the end. The paint turret remains nearly useless due to the difficulty. What I think the developer could do is also scale the difficulty based on number of players; perhaps, decreasing the dropping speed a bit. I like the convenience of the auto-fire on the gun turret. I am wondering if adding that feature to the fist turret or rocket turret could be a good addition. May make the game too easy, definitely no auto-fire on the flame turret. And additionally, I think it would be fun if a subtle camera shake is added (also should be able to toggle off in the menu for people who want reduced motion) whenever a chain of blocks is destroyed and drops a group of blocks.
