This is pretty fun. If you want a mobile-like diving game with VR controls this isn't bad. It's pretty immersive but not perfect. Swimming with motion controls works but it's a little bit jerky. It works but makes the game feel more arcade like. You still have a lot of control. Can swim all around in circles with a combination of swimming motions and the joystick with no motion sickness. The graphics are pretty nice. Arcadish more than sim but good enough. Framerate isn't super high. For me it defaults to Ultra settings with reproduction. Not much of a problem. Compared to World of Diving believe it or not this game feels like more of a sim thanks to the controls. I think it's actually more fun too.

The developers made the achievement of making this game absolutely BORING, TEDIOUS, and hard to understand instead of a relaxing experience. Not only they require you to retrieve an insane amount of useless items, but no explanation is provided on basic a ctions like opening a container or fighting with a knife!

Controls are utter rubbish. When you do get swimming, you swim like a torpedo and get punished for knocking into rocks. I couldn't find a way to pick anything up either. The game insists on adding vignettes to movement.

sorry but if you have a valve index i wouldn't even bother with this game none of the controls worked worth a crap at all i couldn't get my knife out or grab things i could just half way swim around and smash into stuff which hurt me non stop, im sorry but grabbing items has got to be the easiest thing there is when it comes to the index controllers haha they are pretty self explanatory lol and i tried switching the controls from vive to oculus touch so it atleast mapped stuff somewhat decent but it just would not let me grab anything and the swim controls it shows you are tricky to get down in order to really swim decent and not bounce around... it looked pretty but thats about it... it might be a fun game if it had better controls...

The game is really not as bad as the reviews are saying. It is a pretty good and relaxing experience. I am playing this after finishing the game Freediver Triton Down and wanting more diving. Playing this on quest 2 with Virtual desktop and it is a really immersive game and the environment are beautifull. With some good headphones, you feel like you are underwater. The control could be better but with a combination of joystick for moving forward and gesture for going upward and downward, it works pretty well. At a discount price, you should buy it if you like diving and miss the underwater world.

The game does not support Valve's knuckles. I got the game as part of a bundle, so I did not know that... Still amazing that Valve allows games that do not work with their own hardware, but here we are... again :(

Save me from the default controls. Seemed like a good idea at first... when i first swam forward it felt great. But everything beyond that is not intuitive and feels horrible. The game looks good. Objects that you can interact with seem repetitive. It seems like an interesting idea. Pick it up on sale and give it a shot, but I definitely don't recommend picking up at full price. Will recommend for sale price. Can't bring myself to put in a bad review for VR games that seem to have heart.... Hopefully they make improvements.

With awful movement system and mediocre visuals Deep Diving VR is a very shallow experience. Seriously though, for a game that is 90% movement, having such a janky controls is a fatal flaw.

Although I very much support developers porting their games to VR, this is an example of a port that still needs a lot of work with regard to controls. From the controls, you instantly notice that this is a port. These feel too arcadey, janky, twitchy and overly sensitive because they aren't physics based in any way and changing the sensitivity isn't going to change this. You see something on the ocean floor 2 meters below you? With soft and subtle handmovements you try to push yourself downward. The movements arent registered. You try the same thing again, but with a bit more force. The game launches you forward with the speed of the Apollo 11 and you slam into the ocean floor and lose some health. You bounce off and you're 2 meters too far away from your object again, this time on the surface of the ocean floor. You try to do the same, but you overshoot the object you're trying to get to again. You will do this untill you are half-dead. All the other swimming movements feel like they are basically key-board inputs ported to VR; janky, unsubtle and weird. Also; this is NOT a roomscale game! You wont be able to 'walk' through the water. If you start walking in real life, you will just stay fixed in place. Developers, if you want to have an example of good swimming mechanics in a VR game, look no further than the latest versions of Vivecraft (Freediver: Triton Down is somewhat ok control-wise).
