Biggest gripe is that it doesn't feel like the gameplay evolves or changes even theoretically moving through the map making upgrades and such so it gets a boring fast
Choose a character, make choices to form a tale of a survivalist community
More for casual play. Like, you basically try to keep the peace on all fronts, relationships occur or not, the elderly demand respect because they have glasses and gray hair, an action is required but you can also do another, all by chance? Ehhh, some are, some are not. Like most of the choices you wanna take, you already see what it does to your economy. If one goes all the way down or all the way up, it's game over. But that is the whole thing about this game, everytime you play, it's a little story till you fail. New characters gets unlocked after you failed and you can try another story with them. New characters also get unlocked by chance, when they want to join your community during your storyline.
You also level up during any story, increasing some of your skills. Prolly for later replay with better outcome. Because when you look at the map, there is huge trail to go through. By doing the right choices and ocassionally a real chance occurs with a 50/50 outcome, there is this chance (yep another chance) that you go deeper into the map. That is considered "exciting" because then more possibilities are opened.
The best achievement is getting through the entire map with your community, overcoming obstacles, keeping the peace and survive!
A good game for when you want to dedicate your weekend doing souly survival games. But it will become a little repetitive, so I recommend you NOT to play longer then one hour. (like I already played 30 minutes and finished 5 stories)
If you were interested in more actions then being a leader and making choices, but being one of the soldiers in that commiunity and able to shoot your way through with some first person action, I would recommend the game The Walking Zombie 2 which is FREE on Steam. See it as an additional break from Alive 2 Survive: Tales.
How far will you come? Create the best tale everrrrrr!!!
It is what you would expect form a rushed Flash game from the 2000's.
Not worth it at all no matter how little it can cost.

Yet another example of how Steam badly needs a "Meh" rating.
The Zombie theme is nice and I love how the way to keep going is to constantly recruit new members who can be leaders. The different themes and skills of the leaders seem to have little impact though. Outcomes seem to happen regardless of decisions which kind of undoes the "decisions matter" aspect of gameplay. The "combat" is nonsensical and it doesn't seem to have any connection to your choices.
I enjoy how leaders can be banished, executed, die in office, or can even end up zombified. If the rest of the game had more connection to your decisions vs. outcomes not to mention a little clearer story/goal progression this might be a gem of a game. Otherwise it can be a real slog that often seems to go nowhere.

I'm posting this review since I hit level 5 and now the game doesn't seem to want to progress anymore. Up until that point, I was enjoying this game, as it was a fun diversion for 15-20 minutes a day. Any longer and yeah it would get boring. Sometimes I wished there would be a random 3rd option that would pop up just to throw you a loop instead of the standard 2 choices. I enjoyed the quirks and artwork of the game and just the general atmosphere of it. But unfortunately, even though I thought the game was fairly entertaining, I'm going to give it a thumbs down since the level 5 glitch has killed the game for me. If it gets fixed, I will change my review.

Very nice game, I love a Choices matter kinda game and this one does it well.
Trying to keep a level balance between factions in your group at the same time making friends and having a love life while not running out of supplies is much harder than it sounds.
I recommend this

It's a basic standard choose the cards kind of game. Very repetitive and has no story.
