Well, game promise quite a bit from it appearance but lacks in depth. Some casual players can enjoy it, but after Paradox grand strategy games this looks pretty hollow. Yeah, the game seems to have lore and multiple "different factions", but lore only influence goals and factions dictate your starting positions and that is all. You have no real diplomacy, and you can't even build anything aside of 2 units, soldiers and ships. Provinces have only 1 button to influence them, stability (but it's synonimous to loyality in that case). The in-game currency makes no sense either. It's fitting for Early Release in term of content but for finished game? There is couple of flash games with similar gameplay that have more content.

Unfortunately this is a very shallow yet promising (*) strategy game. It seemed great for me at first sight, then learning how you cannot place your recruited units except capital (ridiculous for large kingdoms with vast lands - you lose all your action points at moving your army and then forced to "End Turn" and watch long turn steps) gives you cringy feelings. *All these and more can surely be improved or fixed, but game is launched several years ago and I am not hopeful. Again, the game has really potential to become a good strategy game, some nice features are here and there, art and lore are minimalist yet fitting, but a lot of gameplay enricher functions are missing, diplomacy is almost non-existing (except land-trading) and UI is clunky. And there are messy bugs, which "End Turn" button stopped working in Tutorial (I had to restart the game to make it work), or the game stuck when I clicked "Quit" (so I had to terminate the game via Windows) these stuff shows the game didn't receive proper essential testing at all but it seems the game was hurried to be posted on Steam which is sad. If all the bugs are fixed and poor gameplay choices are fixed, the game can see another spring. If Dev is interested, I am open to discussion and feedback, maybe even testing together. But I am not hopeful, maybe he forgot this game already.

Eormor: Shattered Lands is a Risk-like strategy game that is focussed on conquering the provinces of a fictional medieval fantasy world. This map is drawn in much detail and the various attributes of the different areas - like language, culture and history - are used to determine the gameplay goals for both the player and the AI factions. These houses are ususally part of a kingdom, but they can and often will change allegiance, which can be of high significance for the player. The reasons why I have enjoyed playing this and why I will likely continue to do so: - A simple and familiar system that adds limited, but well-considered complexity - Terrain has a strong effect on the action points required for movement - Ressource value of provinces determine available action points - Population determines overall army limit - Towns, Cities, Forts grant defensive bonuses and generate a few free milita units - Starting positions for the different houses feel distinct and are often interesting Criticisms: - Like most games of this type the AI isn't quite as good as one would wish - Similarly, the game also has the familiar problem of the player eventually just turning into a steamroller

Comparing this game to something like Crusader Kings misses the point. It’s far more casual than that. I would say it’s like an upscale version of Risk. I have fun playing it as it is now and if the developers continue to tweak it, it has some good potential for growth.
