fun game with lots of fights and free exploring, only wish was more sound queues on some boss attacks.

"Ato" is a great 2D pixelated metroidvania-action-platformer with stellar atmosphere, boss-oriented gameplay and tight combat.
You play an eastern feline warrior in his quest to protect his family, slashing and dashing your way through a masked cult of fighters, soaking in the beautiful and somber worldbuilding on the way. Movement is on point (although I did not like the sprint mechanic), the fast paced fights are rewarding. Alas, it is more on the shorter side (which is totally fine) and there is some backtracking; the map progression is classic, if you know the genre. Plus bonus unlockable difficulty for the veterans out there.
Definetly give this a try, it really stands out from the usual metroidvanias by its presentation and the finale is spot-on!
Definetly deserves a broader audience!

There's underrated, and then there's this gem. Had such a blast I beat it in one sitting. Definitely on the shorter side for MVs but it's so much fun. I honestly did not expect much at all going in, but this jumped up to one of my favorite MVs.
