For a five dollar game, there's a metric ton of amazingness right in here.
It's not too wide, nor too deep in terms of crunch. You have a few species to play, and your equipment determines what you do. You can start with up to four characters, and go up to 8. Everything is procedurally generated and open world. You do what you want to do. There's some bad places that open up after a while. You could set up trade routes if you want.
It's really open. And for five bucks? It's an easy, easy recommend.
