All you motherfuckers are gonna pay. You are the ones who are the ball lickers. We're gonna fuck your mothers while you watch and cry like little whiny bitches. Once we get to Hollywood and find those Miramax fucks who was making the movie, were gonna make them eat our shit, then shit out our shit and then eat their shit thats made up of our shit that we made them eat and then all you motherfucks are next.
Love, Jay and Silent Bob

Could literally be any NES style beat em up. The only thing separating it from others is the J & SB paint job. Combat is limited and boring. Not even worth the current sale price. Only recommended for EXTREME J & SB fans.

Mall Brawl is a really fun, true to its roots beat 'em up with great reverence for the View Askewniverse. It completely nailed the feel of an NES beat 'em up while never feeling unfair, and was very satisfying to learn the simple combat system and how to fight each new enemy type. We were also surprised by the great soundtrack. Definitely comes highly recommended for Kevin Smith fans, though it may be a little too basic (and maybe a smidge too expensive) for fans only of the beat 'em up genre, despite how high quality it is.
Minor complaints:
- It's kind of disappointing that weapons disappear after each encounter.
- I wish there were another use for the stars. AFAIK it's currently just an alternate combo finisher, would be cool if you could hold the attack button to pull the finisher out early since it's hard to get a full combo in on some bosses.
- The _ knocker boss fights are annoying. Wait, attack, run around, rinse and repeat.
- If you die on Chapter 9, you get taken back to Chapter 8. Didn't get to check if the same is true if you quit on Chapter 9 and attempt to resume from the save select, but I wonder.

As much as I love the series, and these boys I must say, this game needs a settings update. There is no easy way to adjust in game volume. And I prefer to play in windowed mode, not fullscreen. However If you are looking for a nostalgic challenging game that will make you want to throw your keyboard. This is it.
TLDR-
Casual play-Recommended
Settings- Needs update
Difficulty- Newbies Beware

A cool nes brawler, I played it co op and solo. Being a fan of Kevin Smith's universe (Clerks/ jay and silent bob) and old school games, I couldn't dislike it. It's not that hard once you understood the mechanics (if you play it be sure to read the manual)

It's fun. Funny. Will remind you of the movie for sure. Not one of the best side scrolling beat'em ups in the world. Just about average. For as expensive as it was, I expected a bit more. However, fans of Kevin Smith, and his films will still enjoy a play through for the laughs. Just wait for a Steam Sale before you grab it.

It's a fun game and even better if you can get the co-op through steam to work. It took us a bit but playing online in co-op mode was fun. Many people said it reminded them of Streets of Rage.

I can see how this game might not be for everyone, as it's surprising how many people are unaware of the NES Honebrew scene, but for a beat-em-up that confines itself to the hardware of the original NES, Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl is a rewarding, but extremely punishing game that I feel is unquestionably going to frustrate those who are unaware of what they're getting into. Even I started out unsure I was going to like this, but it grew on me, since most situations still felt like they were achievable, never frustrating me to the point of giving up. If nothing else a short rest to clear my head and think straight about how to approach each enemy was enough to succeed in the next attempt. If you miss the 2D beat-em-ups of the NES and Nintendo Hard difficulty to match, give this a GO.

Mediocre beat em up. VERY disappointed, this game sucks! Jay and Silent Bob would hate this and go look up all the people who made it and beat them up. Nobody wanted this Battletoads bullcrap in the third level, totally brings any fun in the game to a halt. It just reminds me of all the "challenging" gaming that we hated back in the 8-bit days. Programming frustration like this should be punished. The developers should be embarrassed by this cash in.

Definitely a challenging game but so worth it once you get those credits rolling.
I get it a 9/10, half a point taken off for how short the game is, and the other half point taken off for the final level taking you back to the previous level when you have to use a continue
