There's a demo available, and if you're playing the demo, there's a Full Game Available!!! Actually, it's more like a piece of timeless art, timelesser than the internet, 'cos the internet deletes stuff, like bloopers of Michael Madsen telling John Spencer to "Turn the *Fasterisks* key, Sir.", while pointing a gun at him, and John Spencer giggling and replying 'Aren't we going for PG rated, here? Before they both crack up laughing. Honestly, I recommend playing the demo, or sleep a lot (in game) just to see the credits, so you can appreciate how this piece of timeless art, transpired.

Nothing at all like hacking in the 80's If that's what you are looking for try Hacknet it is much better. Also Grey Hack. The time period is the 80's and I was looking forward to that till I spotted a poster reference to "Home Alone" a 1990 movie right there on the wall next to my bed....I grew up in the 80's this is not the 80's. The music was not the 80's, my nostalgia was shot in the face. The DOS like interface of Commander 85 cpu is frustrating as it almost seems like some effort was being made to mimic the command line OS however it fails significantly. You can't use abbreviations to quicken typed commands, nor can you simply use the "up" arrow on the keyboard to scroll through recent used commands. The control to move almost feel like quick time events that are counter intuitive and unbreakable once you engage one via the left or right if you are trying to leave an area mouse buttons. So no freedom of movement through your room via ASWD keys. Now after you get past all of that upon being chewed out by your beastly mother you realize the time of day seems to continuously fly by giving the game a real feel of pushing you to get through the narrative in the quickest time ever, I love a game that provides "fun" being constantly pushed to do anything is not my idea of "Fun." I am not implying that some events should not be pressed for time like the virus attack, but the whole game should give you some relaxing moments where you are not constantly battling a timer on your mothers overbearing personality and other such annoyances. This kids life must have been hell, it's a real wander why he doesn't just let the damn virus do it's thing. One last complaint, at night time or if you leave the house you can not simply remove the phone from the computer nor is there any way to unplug the computer from the wall so fat chance of using real logic to keep the hack at bay in sleep times and events where you leave the house. I really wish I could get through this game but every time i just get frustrated and see more bad than good.

Where do I start ... The idea of a "hacking game" is neither new nor very imaginative, but it could be the basis for an entertaining computer game. Since the game released for about 9 bucks, I bought it. Well... after some sort of intro, which does not give us any real background information, I found myself in my room with my mom yelling at me. Suddenly, my PC started to talk with me and gave me instructions. The "game" then consisted of typing the right commands, solving riddles by trial and error. From one moment to the next I had a floating dog in my room and started to yawn uncontrollable, so that - despite of being hacked by a malificent virus - I could not do anything. Long story short: - the graphics reminds me of "Postal". Functional, but ugly af. - the story was not able to manifest itself during the first half hour - the "riddles" are boring and repetitive (enter x, click y, enter z) - the voice acting of the computer started to piss me off after the first 5 minutes - got a refund.

I dont like it. The computervoice is annoying, always being disturbed by the mom is annoying, the controls are weird, you can't even move. How the hell is the Commander even talking to you when its off? And why can't i just plug the cord to stop that dumb hacking virus thing? I thought i could enjoy some retro 80s computer feeling, even played a blockbreaker game but somehow everything is annoying.

Good for anyone who likes the 80s.. Wish it was longer though. I hope the developer will make prequels and sequels to it. I got the bad ending. LOL. Also, the laziness of the developer can be seen in the model for the computer. An A600 that didn't have its Amiga keys removed and rebadged.

This game offers pretty much no help, time constantly passes while you scramble to figure out what to do. There are no guides or walkthroughs, I got as far as getting into the school database before I had to give up because I couldn't even find a way to recall that screen and spending three hours in game with the computer constantly berating me wasn't making me desire to see it through any further.

My initial impression of the game was good. I liked the menu music and the short intro did set some good old 80s vibes. I also really liked how the game does not hold my hand, does not give me a "follow the yellow big arrow" pointer and instead requires me to be investigative and observant of my surroundings to figure out what to do. The first task was easy, hacking into the school computer and resetting my attendance percentage was simple. A quick skim over the manual for the in-game computer did wet my appetite for more as it seemed like there would be some nicely complex thought work and puzzling required down the road. At that point I did not have the time to read it entirely though, so I decided to save the game for the weekend. When I launched it again this morning, looking forward to some fun 80s Saturday morning hacking sessions, my impression of the game turned a bit negative though. First I got two achievements for things I clearly had not accomplished in the game yet (getting two action figures) and then also, half of the in-game computer screen was suddenly covered with a bunch of "Top Secret" sheets full of spoilers and things I had not discovered about the game yet. Then after some time of trying random things and after letting the Virus' warning about having to comply with its' wishes within a certain time-frame pass without complying, I got stuck at the computer screen, unable to walk away from it to answer Mom's nagging (she was at full anger level and just kept going on and on and on). I want to give this game a chance. I like the setting but in the current buggy state it is in, I can not recommend playing it.

This is a game that offers little to no hand holding. I've learned most of what I figured out by trial and error. If you're stuck you can take a look at the top secret file that contains hints/tricks for beating the game. I feel a lot of the negative reviews are people who didn't like the style of the game or didn't understand how to play. You must be patient and keep at it. I recommend this game but only to those who like a game that leaves a lot to the user to figure out.
