This is a real fun game for VR skating fans - you my not have wheels, but who doesn't want to try a hoverboard? :D
You find yourself in a huge park, which seems like an unusual choice for skating but again - This is hoverboarding! As you explore the surroundings, you find typical skate park areas as well with lots of ramps and pipes, as well as an interesting-looking, sunken city. The graphics are somewhat simple, but good enough for the immersion to work.
The controls are very intuitive, in the beginning I found it a bit weird that you accelerate with the trigger on your "off" hand, but that can be switched in the menu. You steer by controlling the angle of the board with your controllers and jump by flicking them up. Also, you can collect turbo orbs to speed up and do lots of challenges that unlock new boards. So far it was great fun and I'll definitely play more - I recommend trying this!

Ya the concept is really nice, but it is not there yet. The experience for me so far is underwhelming. I don't know for example how to get stars. And for some reason the other worlds seem to be locked so I cannot use the snow world. I probably need to finish the races but these timelimits are so super tight that I am not able to reach the next point, and have to do it all over again. It is frustrating more than enjoyable actually so I give a thumbs down.

Fun for the price but it's not quite as polished as Jet Island - some of the physics are off and there's a few poor UI choices as well as a bunch of spots on the map that would benefit from some minor tweaks. For example halfway down one of the long downhill halfpipes where the pipes join it acts like a collision - easy fix would be to lower the bottom one a tiny bit but for some reason they havent done it and I have found 3 or 4 in 3 hours playing no doubt theres more
If they fixed up the bugs, polished the map and the physics I'd happily pay $30 for an improved Hovrboard 2 as its a lot of fun at its core

I really want to do a full video review on this game but long story short, if you have Wireless VR (Like a Quest 2 with AirLink) it is a MUST BUY in my book, it is impressive for a solo project and you will have a ton of fun, I hope the Dev can add some more joystick turning options for those that can only play wired (and also this would be an incredible Quest 2 game, just saying Tomy)

Works flawless with the HP Reverb G2 WMR. Controls are intuitive and it's very simple to control the board. However, I don't recommend this to first time VR gamers. I'm experienced and my legs got weak and I felt a little dizzy during my initial play session. That may or may not happen to you but just thought I would mention it. I highly recommend you select "beautiful" within settings to minimize eye strain. Adjust your speeds too for a more comfortable experience.
It's a unique VR title for sure and has lots of potential but take it easy and keep your initial play sessions short until you become comfortable with the controls and you're able to better adjust to the game to minimize motion sickness. I was more acclimated to it during my second play session so it just takes a little getting use to.
I wish I didn't have to go through loops to unlock new environments. I just want to explore and have fun not be forced to earn stars to unlock new environments. I don't have much time as it is so it kind of ruins the fun a bit. With that said, it's a good title and worth checking out. I'm sure it's way more fun once you adjust to the game and configure it to your liking.
You can adjust the turn speed and use the WMR sticks to navigate with the board. No need to activate custom controller profiles ect .., it just works.

For only $12, this game is 100% worth it's price. I've had hours of fun on the game's 3 maps, which are large and have many challenges to complete. Certainly doesn't replace real snow or skateboarding, but for some indoor fun, HoVRboard is where it's at!
Cons:
- Inactive development
- 360 degree tracking preferred

Now this is what you call an under-rated game. It's fun and fast paced. The controls are easy to pick up, but you will be rewarded for mastering them. There is a good amount of content, and there is a satisfying progression system.
Highly recommended, be sure to check this one out.

While I haven't "finished" the game or anything - I just wanna get a review out for that critical early phase as I think this has a ton of potential.
TLDR: Ain't perfect, but you could totally get this and have a good bit of fun. It's not Jet Island.
To get performance and "quality" out of the way: It's fine on my system. I don't get stutters or anything like that. The quality/production values of the game are perfect IMO. It does not feel janky. Back to gameplay:
The game isn't perfect, but it can be great fun. Don't think it is just a derivative of something like Jet Island, as it isn't. It doesn't have thruster hands, grappling hook, etc. The board is much more manually controlled, and requires some precision. I think this is a plus, and the board controls really lend itself to it. Your hands really tightly control the board. You can watch the trailers to get an idea of that.
What about the "isn't perfect" part? Well, it currently has some control finickyness. To explain in detail would make this absurdly long. But I do have some gripes on the Index Controllers. [strike]Also no it doesn't have finger tracking why the hell would it need finger tracking[/strike]
Anyways, I like this game.
