The cartoon aspect of this product is impressive. Some really well produced and directed little sequences. You can tell a lot of work went into this, even though I'm not a fan of the surrealist style or the globally nonsensical narrative. Then you play the game and it's cool, until you've reached past the mechanism exposition phase and the real puzzles start... and you realize it's not that fun to play. It's mostly combination puzzles where you have to find the correct combinations on several 'lock' devices. So it's mostly about brute forcing every level. Nothing really that requires reflexion. It's made worse by the fact that your character moves very slowly on the grid between 'locks'. I got stuck on one of the levels, and after looking up the solution on youtube it appears that the youtube level is different from the one here on Steam. Then I realized it was the solution for the mobile version of the game released prior to this one. Then I realized the mobile version was at least 5 years older than the Steam port. In the level I have here I can't move enough to change one of the locks, and I suspect that it might be an actual bug. I'm just going to classify this as another low effort mobile shovelware port, sorry (not sorry)

I finished this game and it was pleasant throughout. Difficulty was spot on for a casual puzzle experience and a 3 hour playthrough. It deserves a bit more love and not only 9 user reviews (as of the date of my review). Support these developers :)

Where Shadows Slumber is a fun game with engaging light and shadow based puzzles. In each level, use your lantern along with other pieces of the environment to make a path to the next stage. This is a very good game originally released on android and i am pleased to see it get a PC release. The mouse controls work well even for someone with vision problems. I play using the windows 10 magnifier with the cursor always center option enabled. The graphics are good and easy to see and the audio quality is great. This is an absolute steal at such a low asking price! There are more mechanics involved and many different environments but I don't want to spoil a good adventure!
