Fantastic unique and innovative game! Pretty hilarious when you put two friends on the same controller and have them control one character each as well.

A unique game with a dope soundtrack. I enjoyed the creative obstacles, levels, and bosses. Really excited to see what this developer comes up with next.

This is definitely one of the most unique games I've played. The learning curve it pretty steep initially but not overly difficult. You control two separate characters in a top-down shooter with a single controller. Your left hand controls one character and your right hand controls the other. Think of it as if rubbing your belly and patting your head got converted to a video game. I reccomend either putting both characters together initially so your movements are identical or just shoving one guy in a corner where he is safe. The sound effects are good, graphics are a classic retro look, and the bosses are just the right amount of difficult, once you figure out their weaknesses. Overall the game is nice little pick up at the price point for how many hours you'll get out of it. Highly reccomend snagging this one even if it's not in sale.

Challenging game with an original concept and distinctive soundtrack. Paul, the developer, is a friend. I'm also friends with Reed, who produced the OST. You might say I'm biased, but I think you'll agree that this is a stunning first foray into game-making. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

Interesting and mechanically difficult twin stick shooter. Left stick controls character 1, right stick for character 2. You will mess up quite a bit at first, getting the hang of tracking your two characters. If you are a fan of twin stick shooters, and want an interesting and difficult experience then this game should be well worth the $2 asked. If you are good enough you can push a timed speed run onto the scoreboards. The handmade backgrounds and assets retro-style theme that may not be for everyone, but do their job just fine. Worth taking a look at.

If you are looking for a challenge you will enjoy this game. As you maneuver through this 2D world, it feels like a puzzle trying to figure out the best methods to use two character simultaneously during certain bosses and with certain weapons. It is completely unique in that way and unlike most games I have played before. Positives: - The Bosses are difficult to beat and all require a unique offensive approach to defeat them. - Weapon selection; there are a lot of weapons to pick up that are fun to play with, that work well against certain enemies, and that match your specific play style. - Levels; A variety of different environments processed with rng. - Gameplay; unique as stated above and fun to figure out (though it isn't for the feint of hear). - Enemies; you can see a trend here, a lot of variety. Many enemies to kill in various ways. - Graphics; depending on what you like, but the 2D top down style is well thought out and works nicely with the dual character mechanics Negatives: -Although I think the game is worth what it costs, it is a short game depending on your abilities. It took me an hour, but I played it for a few minutes during the development stage and have thousands of hours logged in video games across the board. - The final boss battle, although difficult, is fairly short once you figure out the level. All in all it is a wonderfully unique game with fun mechanics you should try if you are looking to challenge yourself.

Let me start by saying I know the developer personally. I use that not to disqualify the merit of my review, but rather to explain my perspective on the game. Early on when making the game, Paul told me, "I'm making the game that I want to play." I knew right then that this game would be difficult. You may think of playing games with a buddy as something along the lines of "let's see how many planes we can steal in Grand Theft Auto." If you're playing games with Paul, you are going to eventually look at the clock and realize it's 1 AM, and that you've been grinding through the co-op mode of TowerFall Ascenscion on Hard for the last three hours. To play this game is to understand Paul's appreciation for games, and that in an of itself is a wonderful accomplishment on his part. It also helps that the game is good.
