If there was mixed review i would give it. It's just really sad seeing flash game that were good and nice to low and over priced I mean it's good game don't get me wrong the graphics are nice, The gameplay good, the soundtrack is really beautiful and relaxing and the voice acting the same but it suit for different dwarfs. but the price is too high for its 13 levels and the survival mode is boring and yes there is hard mode and challenges but after that it your done you got all achievements, all challenges done, you got all levels on hard mode and you past 2 hours and you can't refund the game. It's just really sad man if the game had more levels and gameplay of course the game would get positive reviews. I just can't recommend this game cuz of the price.I only recommend if it on good sale like 1 dollar or 2 just good price.

Not a bad experience, especially at huge discount - for a dollar, it's certainly better value than the first game, which is free. It was mostly enjoyable until towards the end, where you hit a wall and either have to lower difficulty, or have to invest into using powerups. I don't like the idea of hoarding and grinding the ingame currency, co I can afford very unbalanced, powerful power ups. The game was on a good path, but it needed more - I love games like this, and it's a shame to see it completely forgotten.

Castle Woodwarf 2 is a Kongregate refugee soldier defense game (soldier defense being a dumbing down of tower defense games where you just build soldiers to combat the waves of enemy soldiers). There's some lightweight resource management as you have a cap on units and you also need to allocate some of your units to gathering supplies and gold, but this is a very shallow addon to the core gameplay. Unlike traditional TD's, this is shallow and linear, there's no strategising about where to put towers or worrying about enemy pathing because enemies attack on only one line. Yawn. This wouldn't fare well even as a mobile app (I checked, it doesn't look like it's on app stores). One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. So, should you buy this game? Castle Woodwarf 2 has the gamer gouging price of around $7 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.

I'm going to recommend this game even though I think that the first one was better. I was able to finish it in about 4 hours and then played around with getting the achievements and a bit of the endless. I think it is priced too high, but all in all, even if I never touch the game again, I'm not mad about it. I was still entertained for about 12 hours and I had fun.

I liked the first (free game) - it was simple but fun. Based on that, I decided to buy this version. However, I am having technical problems with this version. It started on level 2 - a giant black rectangle blocks most of the screen. Sometimes the rectangle takes about 75% of the screen. The size of the rectangle varies. I can't even buy new workers and hatched the dragon. I have an older system: Intel 2600k processor with an Nvidia 970 GPU. I suppose it could be drivers or something along those lines. This is the only game I'm having problems with at the moment. I hate saying "no I don't recommend" the game as I think I'd like it if I could actually play it. I believe the developers will likely address the issue if they know about. Hoping they can fix this at some point.

If you like resource management + tower defense games as much as I do, this is an awesome game for you. It is a little game, but it is also very cheap. I only have 2 complaints: 1. The 90 minutes survival mode achievement is too difficult. From what I experienced, you have to grind shop currency for about 1100 minutes to get that. (16 hours for 1 achievement) 2. This game could have been a massive hit if it wasn't designed as a mobile game. It just makes me sad to see the potential unrealized.

Woodwarf 1 is free to play on Armor Games and is a fun resource management / castle defense game. TL;DR Go play that, if you like that then get this on sale. I like that this version has militant dwarves defending the dragon whelp instead of just upgrading the dragon whelp. But it's offloaded the House/castle upgrade to a meta system outside of the 'gameplay'. Which makes sense for a more campaign style of game but it I miss that from the original. I'd rather the meta system change what level your hut started at each level and still gave you the option of leveling up house, trees, environment, units etc. I really liked the clear balance of food production and wood (which is gold). This version has veggies and fish...but I'm not sure if its all being fed to the dragon or if theres any difference between the 2. Castle Defense is a sub genre or variant to tower defense where you send waves of units to clash in the middle and usually each side has a castle with a ranged unit safely shooting enemies that get close. In this castle defense variant however your units don't charge until death, they just move to some spot and wait to die I mean fight. You can move the dragon back and forth, but want to move that mage up so its helping the warrior? Too bad you can't move any of the other units. It makes sense to auto walk units when your goal is to defeat a castle/imaginarygoal and each unit walks forward fighting everything in its path. But in this case they just sort fill in with archers scattered in the back with mages and warriors up front. I hope this is a game the developer continues to work on and upgrade.

I played the first part for days, even weeks - for free ! Now i bought Castle Woodwarf 2 and completed the game with all achievments (except the hidden ones for playing the endless mode for 90 minutes, which is only boring at all) in less than 3 hours without any difficulties !!! I expected a well balanced game and i am really disapointed.

I see what they were trying to do but it just fails so hard to be anything resembling the game we all know and love. I finished in just 3 hours and it felt nothing like the original. If this game is free, cool... but do yourself a favor and don't spend any money on it.

A simple resource management game mixed with tower defense. You gather resources to build up your army while waves of enemies respawn towards you. The goal is to defend your egg, which can be evolved into a giant dragon. If you lose your dragon then it's game over. With upgrades and useful items that can help you, the game turns out to be very balanced (also, there are several game difficulties and challenges). The game itself is so much fun and has potential for much more but it's very pleasant.
