Another great game, it's a real pleasure to play these. I only took 4 hours to complete so it felt easier than the previous ones. I hope there's more where this came from, but it would be more enjoyable if they had some plot or some kind of story to motivate the player, it doesn't need to be anything complicated, maybe a set up in the past when these puzzles were used on prisoners, and you are one of them trying to get your freedom... Otherwise it's good as always: clever and satisfying puzzles that introduce new mechanics gradually and always leaves you wanting for more. Great job !!

I want to ride a train and explore all the wonderful structures. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3182357649 I don't mind puzzles, but hey. All the ReThink Evolved games fit in with my design language. I guess that's what I get for being an optimist and a futurist. :) I could post the same review in all the ReThink Evolved games, but I don't want to spam them in the process. For what I know, each of the ReThink Evolved games have similar structures, but the designs are quite different such as having dark floors and bright walls, which I enjoyed so much. And I like that ReThink Evolved 5 felt more open early on, but does feel a bit more closed-in. RE2 is awesome with lighting under a raised floor in between the doorway and I loved that a lot.

Better than 2 (no more super-precise long distance bounces) but still worse than 1 (multi-room puzzles remain a bad idea).

The game is fun, but they changed some of the puzzle elements from the previous games. To elaborate, the game has none of the following: mirror cubes, bridges, moving platforms, interactive floor tiles, forward/backward switch cubes, or lasers on cubes. The game does however introduce, among other things, colored crystals that can power lasers, colored mirrors, a cube type that lets you choose how it functions, and teleporters for level transitions. Also the keybindings seemed a little different, so that took some getting used to. It's a great game, but it doesn't really have much story to it. I think a plot and some voice lines would do it wonders.

Somehow they managed to make this game even more beautiful than the first two. Absolutely stunning visuals and some new particle effects for the new pylons/crystals. You can now plug them in their designated spaces to choose what laser-color you want to have shooting out of the wall. Now it's also not one huge area, but smaller sections where you travel to with teleporters, making the game run even better than the previous ones. Every cube except the mirror-cube make a comeback and there is an additional 3-way cube with the amazing idea to choose which color you want to pass through. There are also the afore mentioned new crystals and newly added colored walls. Those can either let lasers through them or work as a mirror, depending on the color of the laser. These additions make for yet again some absolutely clever and amazing levels. The last two levels are nothing short but masterpieces, especially the 2nd to last level(s) J1-J2 are perfectly complex but solvable. Even just the visuals of the solution when all lasers point to the right direction look like art. The last level has a bit too many cubes for my liking, but still a fantastic grand solution and sendoff to the game. The best entry so far, excited for the 4th and last part of this amazing series. =)

Great and neat as before, although this title seems a little easy than evolved 2, but it still offer a good puzzle experience. A great puzzle series that focus on beam-redirect problem, this focus make the newer games more better and creative. Personally I love evolved series more, keep up the good work devs!

This is the fifth entry in the ReThink series and probably the easiest one. Most puzzles are very simple and I did not even have to look into a walkthrough once, despite some new mechanics being introduced. Definitely a recommendation, even if it is a bit easier than previous games.

Difficulty : 1/5 (Very Easy) Global : 1.5/5 (Decent) The Evolved series is far inferior to the main one. ReThink 2 was a huge step up and ReThink 3 and 4 further improved it but the Evolved series follows a different path. This game isn't bad but it's far too easy and less interesting than Evolved 2, which shouldn't be the case (or rather, I hoped and was sure the Evolved series would be harder and harder like the main one). I guess the Evolved series targets a more casual audience. If you like ReThink in general, then you'll obviously still have fun. But except for the last few areas, the game just isn't very interesting puzzle-wise.

A new puzzler in the ReThink series: This means the visuals are deceptively simple in design, but very elegant and just beautiful. You need to use cubes, with various functions - linear redirect, fork, 3 fork, switch between forks etc. - to redirect coloured laser light to specific "detectors" to open glass doors to access the next puzzle. As with the previous games, you are able to e.g. split white light into its R,G,B components, and several puzzles make clever use of combining light colours, redirect that to a certain place, to then split it again. The new features include: Sheets of reflective coloured glass that let light of the same colour pass, and reflect all other colours, this also lets you reflect light via panels on the ceiling (in a few puzzles). The other neat new cube is programmable, i.e. it can split the incoming light into up to 3 directions, and per direction you can control what colour (R,G,B) components you want to pass along. The latter introduces very interesting options. Oh, and portable bi-pyramidal laser energy sources, letting you e.g. change the colour of where a laser originates. Differing from the previous titles the puzzles seem to be placed in completely separate buildings in groups of four, and you move from one building to the next via teleportation. (You used to play a linear winding path from room to room where you could look into future puzzle rooms or look back on already solved ones.) Overall, if you played the previous ReThink games you should be right at home with this game. IMO is actually was easier than the previous games (I am not complaining). If you happen to like elegant puzzle games with interesting game logic, this may be for you.

ReThink Evolved 3 is another entry in the series of first person puzzle games, where the player must use different types of cubes to alter the path of coloured lasers in order to active switches of the same colour, which then unlocks the door to the next puzzle chamber. The “Evolved” games allow the player the freedom to place cubes anywhere and give you full control over the angle the lasers are shined by the cubes. For this reason I always enjoy playing Evolved more than the regular ReThink games, where cube placement is restricted to specific tiles, and you can only turn each cube in specific increments. In Evolved I usually feel like I’m designing my own solution to each puzzle, rather than trying to identify the developer’s intended solution. Evolved 3 added three new puzzle elements to keep the gameplay interesting, and you can see two of them in action in the below screenshot. • Many of the laser beams are generated by crystals that you can swap around, allowing you to change the starting point of those colours. • Coloured forcefields will allow a laser beam of the same colour to pass through, but will reflect different colours. • A new type of cube can be programmed to shine any combination of colours in three directions by simply clicking your desired colours. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2109056354 Evolved 3 contains 40 puzzles and took me just over 5 hours to finish. Some of the later puzzles were challenging without ever becoming frustrating. If you enjoy puzzle games I recommend picking this up at full price or a small sale.
