It's sort of a likable game, not that recommendable though. Like the price suggests, it's not a "big game" but has some content to it. The combat is fun enough, there could be something more to it. Not a game I could recommend for everyone, but if you don't mind a mindless shooter that has some fun to it. Also if the few "unpolished" areas ruin the experience, then hopefully it's worth it, when released from early access. For the price, it's a decent game even not considering it being in early access (for however long that might be). -- about some of the game -- Some of the levels can feel very similar. So for some, this could become repetitive very fast. For me it was not much of a problem, although I have not reached half way through the game yet. Also when the area tactics more or less often plays the same, only difference be your weapon and enemies? Enemies sometimes makes up for it, but what they don't make up for is that they all feel the same when fighting them. If there is many, it feels like you are just shooting at a big messy blob until everything is down. Also the impact on your health, doesn't carry much weight to the player at times. When it comes to basic resources that I know of, you got weapon parts and armor parts. You can get tech which is item drops and unlock the drops with parts, and doing missions to gain those parts. Every third mission you will gain a bonus, that contains resources and tech with some money. There are 3 classes as for now. I think a lot about them can be a bit the same. Weapons can be a bit the same, there might be more difference later in the game. Recently there was some addition of pets, have not come that far yet and likely a bit like the drone that circle around you and shoots nearby enemies. Enemies that are or feel quite the same in some aspects, a lot of different smaller mobs to more of a turret mob and shield, to exploding enemies. There are elities that are sometimes like a harder regular enemy, or so I think, and like a mini boss? There are some random modes followed up on the 3 missions you can select for each difficulty, mostly either about destroy or protect to x amount of something. The music is alright, mostly what you will hear through most of the game?

Simple, though that isn't to say it's bad. Basically the game works off a shoot n loot formula, similar to games like Borderlands, where it's about gaining levels and with them stat and talent points to spec your character to your tastes and gear to fit your playstyle. It's a lot lighter than a full game such as Borderlands, but it's not to say it isn't still fun, and it's a fairly small pricetag... if the idea of a rinse and repeat cycle of strength gaining to take on harder challenges under the format of a Contra-style side scrolling schmup appeals to you, it's worth a try... don't expect anything TOO deep, there are a lot of options (gear, skills, talents, inscribing, enchanting, asymetrical classes) to vary your build from, but none of their effects are that drastic individually, so gameplay will always be simple... and while I enjoy the assembled collection of enemies and the environment and it's dynamic weather brings a smirk too my face, there really is very little variation between foes and environs... it's procedurally generated, but there just don't seem to be many assets to work with... I've played better games like this (I rather enjoyed Collapsed, recently), but there are also more popular games I found far less interesting (this game is very similar to Torchlight in many ways, but I found that far more dull and shallow, frankly). If you're looking for a fun time-filler with a small footprint in your wallet, it's not bad... just temper your expectations, seeing as it's nothing revolutionary either.

plain shoot em up sidescroller with no much content. Its not bad, but its not good. If You dont have anything to do and want to quick kill 20-30 minutes - its for you, else - its boring.

Dreadborne Drifters is the third game from Tryzna and it combines aspects of their two previous games into what I'd have to call a combat focused version of Terraria. The graphics in the game are really nice, the best from this dev yet. I especially like the scenery and weather effects. Just like in their previous game Blaster Road Terror this is a game where you have a hub where you upgrade your character and then go out on missions which you yourself can set the difficulty for, although unlike in BRT you don't have to unlock anything, everything is just there from the start, whether you can handle it / afford it or not. This game however feels more like their first game in that it feels less skill based and a lot more based on your meta progression improving your character over time. Another odd thing is that the difficulty of missions is on a linear scale that not only increases enemy health and damage and introduces new enemy types. But it also adds more objectives per level. Now that wouldn't be a bad thing if objectives were interesting in the least but they're not really. It's either go click on something, go kill something, kill everything or stand by a thing while a progress bar goes up while being attacked by enemies. So not only does the upgrading and constantly spongier enemies make it feel like you're not progressing much, but the increased objectives per level actively make the game less fun.

Devs. Activity
Yes, active on forum and listen to feedback.

Recommended Price
Easely 9.99€ but right now on Early Access 4.99€ it's great too.
Conclusion
Good and addictive gameplay. I already own every game made by Tryzna and i really like them all and i will continue to support any future game. Recommended to any Pixel Art Shooter fan.

Even though the inventory and stats screens might amaze you, it is not a nice game to play. You would expect this game to resemble a game like Risk of Rain, where your power is determined by your build and you are focusing on optimizing your moves and builds, but this game has many flaws with it's gameplay and you don't even want to go through those. With it's many flaws of game design, even though rarely I review, I have to warn it won't be that of a nice experience. Many obvious bugs and things that make you upset, I'll skip over those because this is a cheap and small title. Even when the teleporter can't take you in because you are falling faster than it pulls you (they forgot to make portals reduce gravity, lul) or teleporter doesn't let you go when you want to go see what that interesting thing is or loot a thing. Let's say whatever right? I won't skip over an arpg game attempting to create build-like game mechanics in a fun action but fail miserably. There are many flaws with how game plays. The skills don't serve to a greater playstyle, they are just there. Not the mention them being clunky in a game of action. You take damage, you have to wait a while and get your skills back if you don't wanna die. Enemy movement's are not readible, so a random beam of DEATH could sneak up on you. You are the most powerful and blaze through everything? Not this lil dude with a shield. Just skipping the enemy is so much better than trying to deal with it.

Addictive game with Diablo3 and POE looting.I love the music it never got old.I like the different classes and abilitys. No real late game systems in play and gives around 12 hours of gameplay unless you want to max everything.Sometimes when running the missions my game crashes but it doesnt seem to happen more than once an hour. Some people might not like the day to night change but it never bothered me.

D.D. like his previous title, Blasted Road Terror, features very short missions. So while I have only played this game for 1.8 hours as of writing this, know that I've done a few dozen missions already, collected many new weapons, some new armors, and enchanted some items. Trynza makes good games. He gets right to the point and so the games don't feature much, if any context or story to them but that's because the focus is on the gameplay itself and that is something I think he does very well. He is also present on the STEAM forums and is generally very good about responding to players offering feedback, pointing out issues or who have questions. D.D., while I've definitely liked his previous titles, I think is the game from him that I've been hoping for. It's a 2D mission based platform-style game with loot-grinder elements. You choose a mission from the portal in the citadel and jump right in, shoot up some bad guys, a portal spawns to warp you out and you're done. The missions are very fast, almost too fast. Missions have different types of enemies that earn you different types of reputation for killing them. A mission reward is listed and will be given to you upon completing the mission automatically, showing up right as you warp out and it also shows the kind of special crafting materials you may be able to find on this particular map. The Citadel has several NPCs with lots to offer. There's someone to let you add slots to guns, someone else that lets you fill those slots with enhancements to the gun. There's an enchanter for your armor pieces. There's someone who lets you distribute stat points upon each level up and also choose special permanent perks. There's two vendors for crafting blueprints both of armor and guns. Also, I'm glad to see that he thought of adding in an NPC that spawns dummy targets that you can use to test out your new guns and even see how much DPS you're doing with said guns. That's a great little addition. Personally I've found this little game quite addicting already and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with it during Early Access. While I know this is an early review, new games need all the help they can get to build up their initial reputation and I'm already having more than enough fun with the game to strongly recommend it. As long as you like grinding, finding randomized loot and playing 2D platformers I cannot imagine you're going to go wrong with this title. Lastly, while this game is indeed in Early Access, understand that Trynza has made previous titles. There is no concern if you're new to this developer, of him dropping out or abandoning his games. That's all for now. I'll be back to update this view as the game progresses. ** Update ** The game received several content updates after this review was written and the dev supported the game for quite awhile but he announced last year that he would have to abandon the game due to serious real life issues. The game has some issues such as being able to fall through the world on higher data realms (which you can then simply pause and abandon the run, losing only that run), but the game is still a lot of fun as it is and you can basically see the maps where falling through the world is possible and easily avoid having it happen. I'd still recommend this game in spite of the above and I am still coming back to do a few missions every so often. I regret nothing on buying this.
