I bought the game just to review it
This mode was very fun during the Green Army Men event at Christmas and I was excited to see that it was becoming real DLC. Then I saw the price, more than double the price of the game on sale as of this review. I thought $5-$10 would have been my idea of a decent price. $15 for additional, busted, classes is idiotic. As others stated the bullets are weak. 2 headshots with a sniper rifle weak, which makes the game hard because what made vanilla RS2 great is you can kill in 1-2 well placed shots and die in the same shots. Where semi-auto M16 is viable to get through a game, now you need full aito burst and luck. I do not recommend the game until that is fixed.

It's enjoyable when you can find a server for it otherwise, it's mostly inactive.

The bullet damage is way too low. It's very aggravating to get killed by someone who you shot in the head twice with an M16.
Its nothing like the christmas version. this version sucks ass. it feels more like fortnite than RS2.
The major negative changes:
Hueys are basically invincible along with anyone in them.
Bullet speed was cut in half.
All they weapons have like 25% normal damage. it takes half a mag to kill someone with the M16 if you hit their torso and 3 shot for the head. the shotgun is basically useless along with the LMG and the sniper is only a one hit kill if you hit the head or DIRECTLY in the heart,
If they don't do something about this soon i'm getting a refund. as it is now DO NOT BUY. The only useful class is the riflemen anyway and that one is free.

This DLC is amazing but no one plays it. ADD BOTS PLEASE then I'd change my review. Severs will populate if bots are there to show people are playing on the sever

i bought this purely to support the team who conceived this gamemode. personally, i would love a modern adaptation of the old "army men" games to be released, and this rs2 expansion is as close as you can get to such a game. as an expansion for rs2, green army men brings a refreshing twist to the traditional shooters of today; whether you are seeking cover behind lego bricks and lincoln logs, fighting through a miniature popsicle stick building, or stealthily flanking the enemy through the heat ducts of a house, one cannot argue against the sheer originality of what the green army men team has done.
the green army men expansion does have its faults, however; there are not as many players as i would have liked, and the bullet velocity has been reduced for some reason (i am a fan of the blue/green tracers though). despite these drawbacks, i find green army men to be an exhilarating expansion to rising storm 2, and would love to see how the the expansion will progress over time (perhaps in the form of a standalone title).

Looks like it would be extremely fun, however it is dead. There is literally 1 server for this DLC gamemode and zero players playing it. I unfortunately will be refunding.

UPDATE: The developers have listened to community feedback and have made some major changes to the mod! The damage model and TTK is much more similar to Rising Storm 2 now without being overly hard core. The bullets still have the slow flight, but its fine because they can kill with one well placed shot. Updated review below!

[*] Awesome green army men aesthetic! The original Christmas event was a blast and I was happy to hear it was returning as a full time game mode
[*] More maps this time around! All are large and a lot of fun to play. Great design makes you feel like an ant among everyday items. Fun mechanics like fighting under water in the pool. Feels like moon gravity.
[*] Mod team gets money from purchase
[*] Guns now feel properly lethal!
[*] A headshot or neckshot is always a one hit kill!
[*] Bullets are still slow, but it's not an issue because they are dangerous. This encourages less long range plinking and more close to mid range hectic, fast-paced combat that is what G.A.M. is all about!
[*] Helicopters no longer feel invincible to everything but the grenade launcher
[*] All of the other weapons feel perfectly usable now instead of being somewhat useless.
[*] Shotgun has a respectable killing range with 00 Buckshot. Can one shot most people within 25m it seems. Just have to make sure you aim straight at the torso. And if the first shot doesn't kill, the second will. Much better from before, where it was mostly only usable at point blank range and was outplayed by the M16 more often than not. Required many shots to kill a target beyond 15 meters.
[*] Sniper rifle can now score one hit kills with a shot to the upper torso. It's now capable of defending an area effectively
[*] The Grease Gun is finally an effective weapon for the Blue Team's Combat Engineer. It felt like a joke compared to the Green's flamethrower, but now it's rather effective at killing enemies in 1-3 shots.
[*] Gotta watch out for grenades. They're dangerous now!

[*] The hyper zoom still exists with ironsights. With some weapons, like the M16, this is desirable. With others, like the shotgun, grease gun, and sidearms? Not so much.
[*] The aforementioned hyper zoom still leaves the machinegun in an awkward place. It's awkward trying to use it for area control when deploying it zooms your view in so far. It puts blinders on you essentially as you can only see what's right in front of you. It's not good for deploying and defending an area. It already has a function to zoom in by holding shift while the gun is deployed, so why not revert its iron sight zoom to default levels and allow the user to zoom when they need to focus on a target? This way, a broader area can still be watched and the machine gunner can quickly react instead of trying to deploy when seeing a target and then having to cancel deployment as the zoom blinders leave your team more vulnerable to flanking. Despite the large magazine of the M60, its overall still a better choice to avoid it and go with an M16. Accurate, aims quickly without a need to deploy, and can be used in CQB with more flexibility than the M60.

Compared to my prior review, the lists of Good and Bad have flipped. Before, I had mostly negatives about the overall feel, but that's been remedied with this latest update. The game is a joy to play and feels more like it did back on Christmas! Thank you very much for asking the community for feed back and for listening. I no longer have any regrets about buying the DLC and I recommend it with two thumbs up! Good work and I hope you keep developing on it!

i would highly recommend this dlc, except for the fact that the damage model is absolute garbage. what made the original green man maps fun was the perfect blend of seriousness and realism, with any weapon being a viable choice, with the silly premise, fun maps and fast paced gameplay that no fall damage, faster respawn times, and oversized maps brought. Once the devs finally realize what the community wants and fixes the issue, i would i highly recommend this dlc.

I absolutely loved the christmas event and was very happy to see this mode come back. But the reduced bullet damage and reduced bullet velocity make it very hard for me to enjoy. If you brought back the bullet mechanics from the base game it would be great and well worth the price.
