Simplistic and dreadfully unpolished TBS game.

Całkiem miła i relaksująca gra. Grafika prosta, kreskówkowa - pasuje do lekkiego klimatu gry. Interfejs intuicyjny, przyjazny.

Easy recommendation if you want a light, casual tactical game. There are better out there, but six bucks is more than fair and I've enjoyed this. I went in expecting something of an X-Com light and it's definitely not what I found. There's nothing of a metagame, or RPG mechanics, meaningful story or characters, or survival mechanics... only 10 fairly simplistic tactical maps to overcome with a few objectives in each to earn 3 star ratings. It's the mobile game version of a tactics game. The tactics, while simplistic, are well enough done. You have two action points to move, shoot or loot and face a good variety of mission objectives. But where it really stands out as unique for me is the way they balanced the game. Ammo is relatively limited and the zombies can take some hits. This leads to an increased reliance on flanking so that you can get the one shot kills. You'll be making aggressive plays like rushing past the zombies, or waiting for them to move into an advantageous position. This is one of very few tactical games I've played where overwatch is actually a question because ammo is more important than a face shot. This is not a deep game and it's no Hard West. But it's good fun at a good price.

For a casual Western-themed zombie shooter, this is just fine. It's simple, but with enough of a challenge, and it is glitch-free and entertaining. There are two chapters with five scenarios in each chapter, and the first chapter took me about two hours of game-play (on the 'normal' setting, but there are harder and easier settings), and the second took about the same amount of time. It is mostly story-free, there is no real dialogue, and it's very linear...but for a casual time-killer, it was just what I was looking for, and considering that I got this on sale for about $2.50, it was a steal. Other than being overly simplistic, the only other negative is the relative non-replayability. A harder setting won't make it more interesting, just more difficult in non-tactical ways.

Gunslingers and Zombies (GAZ for short) is a low-poly XCOM-lite featuring... gunslingers vs zombies. The low-poly look is charming, and combat mechanics is a LITTLE janky, but once you got the hang of it, it's a cute little game for the low price. The story is pretty dumb... seems after a night of over-indulging, you found yourself in the middle of a zombie apocalypse in the Old West... and you must rely on your trusty weapons, from rifle to shotgun, from revolver to knife, surviving against a horde of zombies will not be fun. The game is a bit more tactical than it first appears, as flanking do a lot more damage vs shoot at first guy you see, and your weapon range is quite short (almost as short as what a zombie can job in one turn), encouraging you to exploit bounding overwatch (where half of your group move and the other half wait for enemies to come into range). However, tactical aid seems to be a bit short, such as weapon range, which is necessary so I can plan the moves. And I must actively scroll across the map looking for ammo caches to grab, AND decide who to grab with, as it is only for one person, and one person alone. Not all shooters have a second gun, some only have a knife as backup. I am only a few missions in, but so far the scenarios are pretty exciting, such as defend a ghost town from horde of zombies (18) coming from 3 sides, with only 4 shooters. For people who needed a bit of lighter challenge this is pretty good.

Another case where a middle-of-the-road recommendation is needed. For $6 its a nice little tactical game. As of right now, there really isn't a whole lot here. The only reason I'm voting it down is because Hard West exists and is also set in a supernatural Western story, but it also has deeper and more compelling base gameplay while routinely going on sale for around the same price point as this game. I'd say if you're on a tight budget and want a fun little tactical squad based game, this is alright. As it is an early access game, I'm hoping future updates add more to the game. Its just too simple right now, with too little content for me to recommend it.

First of all, I really like the concept of this game! the XCOM style turn based grid system feels great. I only encountered a couple of bugs from my playthrough, the first bug was at the spawner level, on a couple of the spawners one zombie would be outside of the building eventhough this zombie is placed in the actual spawner building in game. The second "bug" was on the last level, when I attempted to click the item to pickup; I learnt I had to click on the actual square it was on. (it would make it feel a lot better if we could click the item too.) What I like: I really like the polygon style graphics that the game offers, I think this works really well with the concept of zombies and gunslingers. The spawner mechanic feels great, essentially you shoot through zombies until you reach the building they're coming out of and your character goes into the house and kills every zombie in there one by one, this feels great mid way through a mission. The missions were a bit varied such as setting up a line of defence then pushing forward, destroying zombie spawners and collecting items, this can include finding them on the floor, looting buildings or killing zombies that drop them. The star system is a simple, yet effective way of allowing the player to replay these missions to complete every little side objective. Weapons, more specifically that certain characters had certain weapons that were longer range, more damage. There is also a knife were the player can stab the zombie up close (although not recommended unless the zombie attacks you first) this is a good strategy system on how to preserve ammo. Small things such as the bandage system which can help a lot if the player decides to have one of their characters take the hits from the zombies, the damage system is great too, if you're behind a zombie you will deal a lot more damage which feels amazing. The amount of different looking zombies is great, some zombie games will have one generic zombie and not really vary the look of the zombie but the devs have multiple different looking zombies What I didn't like: Sometimes the hit chance felt off, this could be due to some bad luck of mine but at times I would miss 96/100 shots 4 times in a row which put me in a bad spot (this could just be me though) Currently the enemy variation is the same normal zombie with 10 health and with the same mechanics, I'm not sure if the devs are working on different types of special zombies such as a shooter or a tank but it would help the game feel a little less boring (especially after 20 or so missions) The pistol currently feels useless for the most part as even when I run out of ammo for the rifles I tend to go melee, the pistol just feels a bit under powered currently. Overall, I would recommend this game as its cheap, nice to play, very few bugs encountered so far and its an XCOM style game and from experience, any type of XCOM game is worth checking out if you're into the genre. Support the devs and hopefully they can keep continuing the game and make it even more interesting! I'm very curious on what they plan to do with the game in the future and sign me up for any beta stuff!
