I like the older Hidden Object games. This is totally a HOG. The story is interesting and the price was good. If you like HOG's then you'd probably like this game.

Where to begin...
A stupid premise, a lame story, silly sophomoric puzzles, very few actual hidden object levels... and the few objects that are included, a blindfolded 5-year-old could find!
Really the few object search levels, ridiculously easy puzzles, self-solving cryptic messages and completely stupid premise, make this a total FLOP.

This is an old game I played years ago on Ipad, I am so happy to have found this on steam, it's an old but classic hidden object game that's a loot different compared to other hidden object oldies! Give it a try, it's a good one!!

[*]There aren't many hidden objects games that use CG rather than drawn artwork and usually it fail because at the end of the day there isn't any movement just a still frame so what was the point - this however actually is animated and not too badly given the time it was made.
[*]Story - this game is actually a sequel however with how it's played out the game can be easily treated as a stand alone especially since you are a detective. Not knowing the events of the previous game makes the case more interesting.
[*]Sound effects - I love the creaking of the floor boards and the sound of the water but what I love especially are the voices of the ghosts in the backgrounds, it adds that spooky affect which is great. This game isn't scary and doesn't try to be but it certainly give off a vibe.
[*]The Puzzles - besides the hidden object scenes the games also have added minigame puzzles that are quite fun to solve.

[*]Backtracking - it's the one thing I hate about these type of games, heading to an area only to go back to it maybe two or three times. It's not heavily reliant but it's there
[*]No save points - unfortunately there isn't any chapter select or save points so you can return to that point of the game. It only save your progress all the way till you finish the game. Going back in on a previous save take you to where you stopped or the 'congrats on completing the game' screen

Epic Adventures: Cursed Onboard is a hidden gem! The pirate theme is engaging, and the puzzles are challenging but fair. A must-play for point-and-click adventure fans

If all you appreciate is dumbed-down simplistic hidden object adventures, then you will probably not like this game. I didn't find anything unfair or frustrating, it just requires you to really take in the hidden object scenes, not expecting everything to be front and center and obvious, which I liked. Figuring out oddly named objects was entertaining, although some would disagree. I hope they make more of these games.

Alrighty then! ... That's it. Thanks for coming.
Kidding.
Game is the second in the series but most likely doesn't have same the characters as the first. If it does... Oops. It's been a while.
This one... Old schooling it. All you new H.O.G. players know what THAT MEANS?! There are ONLY H.O. scenes! Surprise, surprise? That's how we used to do it! If you think THIS IS annoying (it isn't), then let's play Mystery P.I. series! Let's see which one of us has the most patience. :p
Yes so... You land on a cursed land... You walk around trying to solve the mystery... You find items. There is no map...
Because you don't even need it. For people who really can't figure this out... I don't know WHY you can't think about it... But if you DON'T have the right item...? Go back to one of the H.O. sparkles... EVEN if you already did it? It'll most likely sparkle again.
So you go through one area to another and try to put pieces together. Of the mystery... At least your MC does. The story is short and most of the time you will search for items... Which some of them...? Holy hell! Either too tiny or freaking hiding right on top of another object! Kudos though. Crafty.
There are some questionable items though... Paper cutter is a box cutter... Embedded alphabet is a seal (the stamp seal, you know...? Just look it up)... It's uh... Odd to say the least.
I am just used to these kinds of games. I can't say this game is as tedious as some of the locations in Mystery P.I. and I didn't have THAT much trouble with items... Or Mini-Games...
So overall it's just... An old school game. Here to entertain you for around two hours or so. Depending on your skill.
Thank you and good day. :D :>

Worst HOG I have come across. Nothing but multiple scenes of find the _______ in very poorly conceived scenes. Thankfully it came in a bundle with many other good games or I would never have purchased it.

Game with an exciting plot and addictive gameplay. The graphics of the game are good, the atmosphere immerses you in a world of mysteries and secrets. An incredible number of riddles and puzzles make you think and solve complex problems. I recommend it to all fans of quests and puzzles!

This game was just a big, tedious chore to play. It's basically a group of hidden object scenes strung together by extremely minor "adventure" aspects, a few mini-games, and little story. The problem is that the hidden object scenes are simply painful to play. All in all, I'd say definitely pass on this.
Issues:
- In the non-HO scenes, there is nothing to indicate an item can be picked up (the cursor does not change)
- Many HO items are blended perfectly into the background or are so blurry that you can't see or identify the items
- Many HO items are virtually invisible, even after using a hint to point out the location
- HO scenes require extremely precise clicking to register you found an item (there were countless times I had to click on an item several times)
- Many of the mini-games don't have instructions or anything to tell you the desired goal
